Very pleased with this hotel. Thanks to the friendly staff who run the property with great and courteous care; They're willing to do anything in their power to help you have a nice stay. They offer up to date well appointed extended stay rooms. The omelette station is for real. We do the whole Hilton Diamond Marriott Platinum thing and we'd trade all those stays to get a room as this one enjoyed, the last week + here in Fishkill Hyatt House. Just stayed here for a 3 night stay. Upon first glance I thought the room was really nice. A sitting room, with kitchen and private bedroom/bathroom. Upon further inspection, housekeeping left used shampoo/conditioner bottles to pass as new/unused. A mug had a dried coffee mark around the rim and other had a coffee stain inside the cup. Plus I wonder if they even vacuumed as I stepped on a blond bobby-pin (I have black hair). Lastly, at night when all the lights were off the smoke detector had a flashing light which made it hard to sleep. It was so bright in a dark room. Totally disappointed with this Hyatt! read more

Annoying guest kept complaining of noise at 7pm. The noise was the expected sound of a 4 year old and a 7 year old. 7pm!!! Her issue was that she had a 4 am wake up call. Whose issue is that. Try ear plugs. White noise or something other than repeated calls to front desk. read more

** PLEASE READ ESPECIALLY IF YOU INTEND ON TAKING YOUR PET! ** I stayed at this hotel during a wedding I attended. My husband and I were thrilled that they were pet friendly so we could bring along our furkid - and the pet rooms are on the first floor...super convenient! The hotel accommodations were very well taken care of and comfortable and the breakfast the next morning was very nice - this accounts for the three stars I gave. The lack of the last two stars is a reflection of the customer service I received when I arrived. I made a point to call ahead to see if my room was ready early. Because we were in a wedding block our check-in was allowed at 3:00pm (normally 4:00pm). It was an hour drive for us so we were anxious to get in as early as possible. When I called around 12:30pm they said our room was ready! Awesome. We piled all our things and our pup into the car and made the drive up, arriving around 1:45pm. Checking in, I received a keycard for the third floor and questioned it since I had called twice before (once when booking and once to follow up a week out) and was told pet rooms are on the first floor... I was told that I could have the third-floor room now OR I could wait a half hour for them to clean our suite on the first floor. When I noted that I had called and they told me our room was ready, THE MANAGER asked me if I had called the hotel or the "reservation center"......I'm sorry what? Then, seeing that I looked bewildered, his "comfort" to me was not an apology, but him saying "oh, this happens all the time"....really. So needless to say, the staff checking me in had NO IDEA and NO NOTES on my reservation that I was bringing my dog. Unreal. So, after talking with my husband we said hey, it's only 30 minutes, let's go ahead and wait. So I left my number with the front desk to call me when the room was ready. After getting food and 30 minutes passed with no phone call, I called the hotel. When I asked if the room was ready, they told me it would be ANOTHER 20 minutes...... Why? The girl said "because it's a suite it takes longer"..............and you couldn't have told me that initially when I was in there?! In the end we did end up having our first-floor suite after waiting an hour. However, I'm very disappointed with the lack of communication at this hotel, the customer service of the manager (who should be setting an example) and the fact that at the end of the stay we didn't receive any kind of compensation or voucher or price break for the trouble. When you make a mistake as a business, you step up and own it, not cover it up with "oh this happens all the time". NOTE TO OTHERS: If you are renting a pet room, be a broken record about it with this hotel - they don't take notes. read more

Absolutely do not book a stay here over the phone. I made a reservation over the phone and they found me a room and took my credit card information. Great. I never got a confirmation email, so I called about a week later to confirm my stay. When I called they said they had no record of my reservation, so I asked them to book me another room. At that point the entire hotel was booked so I had to find another hotel. Inconvenient to say the least, but I confirmed that I didn't have anything to cancel and made reservations elsewhere. A day after the initial reservation I get charged on my credit card. I called the hotel and they STILL said they had no reservation on file, I had to file with my bank. The bank said it was an incorrect charge by the hotel and they had to refund me. Called the hotel again to see what the heck was going on, and the Hyatt suddenly found my reservation - with my name misspelled - no refund. I'm out $200+. Total BS. Warning don't stay here! it's 2:30 am and we are locked out of our room. No toothbrush, pjs, medicine. Can you imagine if we had kids or pets inside?!!! This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in! We checked in Saturday through Monday for a wedding weekend and came back to our room to find it locked. Nobody's key would work, not eve the staff. Cops were called and they still couldn't get us in. I was on the phone with at least 5 online representatives and nobody could help. Totally incompetent and unwilling to help. Great Modern Hyatt located in small Fishkill. My family from Hawaii decided to stay here for a few days to visit the JW world headquarter facilities. We were very pleased by the front desk as they were able to check us in very quickly. I enjoyed the accommodations as the King Bed room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was very modern and contemporary style. They even had included breakfast every morning that included yogurt, assorted cereals, oatmeal, fruits and omelettes. Dining area is downstairs and very clean, staff takes great pride in caring for this facility. The hotel is also located walking distance to many great restaurants and across the street from Walmart. I highly recommend this hotel. read more

I don't know how this Hyatt hotel has so many good reviews. My experience was awful! I booked the hotel based on two things - the reviews and the pictures of the updated rooms online. Based on the Fishkill Hyatt's website the hotel has been extensively remodeled (including the rooms) in 2016, I stayed there June 2017. Upon walking into the lobby I was shocked how "dated" it was... I immediately asked the hotel staff if their hotel truly has been remodeled recently - she said yes, the entire lobby & rooms had been updated. Well - they should have fired the interior designer, it felt so outdated. I wish that was my only complaint. We reserved a 2-bedroom residence room - it looked beautiful online. As we walked down the dingy (clearly not remodel or recently painted) hallways to our room - I'm just dumbfounded nothing looks new or fresh but praying our room looks better. WRONG - it was worse so much worse!! Dirty, old, grubby.... old bedroom furniture, crusty faucets, moldy windows and clearly water damaged window treatments and walls - it looks NOTHING like the online photos. I have stayed at MANY major hotel chains and I have never encountered such a gross mis-representation of accommodations. I immediately went to the front desk, I told them how my room look nothing like it did online and certainly hadn't been updated in the last decade! I actually made them look at the Hyatt website - they agreed they didn't have a single room in the ENTIRE hotel that looked like that. WHAT??? Then WHY on earth is it on your website? They couldn't answer that and they couldn't give me better accommodations either. I will NEVER ever stay there again. read more

They double billed me on my credit card. They did refund, but I lost over $25 on the currency conversion. Touchscreens on the fitness equipment were broken. Internet was terribly slow (took about 5 minutes to upload a single picture to facebook). Fridge was unbearably loud. Blinds were broken. Furniture was broken. Extremely loud dog barking at 6am. We enjoyed our stay here on Mother's day weekend. Booked this room/suite as a Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond member. We love the Hyatts because they pay particular attention to architectural details that are quite pleasing to the eye and the small details that add extra comfort for their guests. This particular weekend the hotel was full of guests from 4 different wedding parties...so it was buzzing. The hotel is in a business/shopping park. So no real views. I was giggling when a guest reviewer said she --in all seriousness, got an amazing view of the Walmart across the parking lot, but it really was the best view. So this isn't a hotel for a romantic getaway. But for our family it was great as base for hiking at Mohonk/Minnewaska and for dinner at the CIA. Its a tiny bit far, but as I said, we are diamond members and really enjoy the Hyatts. So it was worth the little extra drive. We got a nice room with stainless steel appliances. Our room was very clean, but there were some finger prints on appliances and wardrobe mirror, it didn't bother me. However, I was slightly annoyed that they forgot the extra sheets and blanket. It was remedied quickly with a phone call, but both the concierge and housekeeping staff kept asking if I'd checked the closet that they should be in there and I could hear the doubt even when I said that I'd already checked. One major annoyance was that the livingroom does not have full blackout curtains, just blinds. We got one of the rooms over the floodlights shining on the building. So all night our room was lit up from the floodlights and then at 5.30 am our room was lit from the morning sun, making it difficult to sleep. The bedroom curtains were fine. We got a full refresh on our room and they'd put a lot of effort into it, so great job there. The free wifi was great. Didn't notice any speed issues but the television cable was really bothersome when changing the channels. There were lags and blacking out of channels if you scrolled too quickly. It may be because it was satellite. Service overall was very good. From the welcoming concierge, to the breakfast and housekeeping staff. Breakfast was almost as nice as the ones we stay at in California. Fresh eggs, fresh fruit and fruit salad, real oatmeal with fixings, delicious sausages, french toast/pancakes, real juice --not juice syrup, and freshly brewed Seattle's Best. Plus omelettes to order! The breakfast alone is probably worth $20/pp in a normal full service restaurant. However, one major disappointment...the pool and whirl pool was mediocre. The room was nice and airy, with access to an outdoor patio with seating and a gas grill. But the whirlpool water felt kind of greasy and there were things floating in it, like lint. There weren't enough jets and what few there were, was not very strong. After our long hike, I was in so much pain that I used it anyway. Also the water could be warmer. The pool water looked a bit cleaner, but was still not sparkling and there were a couple of water spiders down at the bottom....ALIVE. They need to clean and refill more regularly. The fitness room had a range of weights and treadmills. There were cups available, but no water. Lots of clean towelettes and a tv screen. It was a nice room and I wish we had time to use it. We already have our next stay booked. Hopefully the pool will be cleaner, and I'll remember to bring some tape and black cloth for the windows...lol. read more

Air conditioning in the rooms turns off when nobody is in the room. Great way to save the hotel money, but also leaves you coming back to a sauna of a room in the summer. Would never stay here again in the summer. Have never been to a hotel where the rooms (yes we tried three rooms) struggle to stay below 72 degrees. read more

Went to this hotel for my sisters wedding. Here is a completely honest review. Staff: very nice and friendly Rooms: once we got in to our 3rd room (none of the keys worked including the maids and the maintenance keys) we were at the other end of the hotel away from our friends and family, and subsequently late for the family wedding photos at the Garrison. Guest shop: nice beer selection and some convenient odds and ends Breakfast: quite possibly the worst food I've had in years. I asked 3 staff members where I could get water and they all told me it was coming. It never arrived. Payments: I received a receipt under my door for $378 and change paid for on my MasterCard. A week later they had charged me on two different cards (the visa I used in the guest shop was charged also) and now there were unexplainable mystery charges for hundreds of dollars. The manager was courteous and kind but couldn't see any of the charges stating that I never paid for my room. Since the charges are NOT pending, I now have to dispute the mystery charges with 2 separate banks, all the while planning my own expensive wedding. This review is truthful and carefully worded, but seeing as this hotels Facebook page has less than 300 likes, I doubt it will make any impact whatsoever. read more

We stayed here for three nights at an off-peak time and were quite impressed. We usually prefer to stay at a Hampton Inn but chose this place for the additional space and the kitchen facilities. It's quite spacious and there are doors to the bedrooms for privacy if you're bringing kids along. The room was clean and functional and the furniture was nice. There were a lot of nice touches in the suites - there's one shower that's large with a glass door in one bathroom and the other bedroom has a tub/shower combination. The living room area has an L sofa and I think that you can turn it into a roll-out bed. There are USB ports in several of the light fixtures so that you can power your device in bed or on the sofa or desk. They provide a lot of little things and you can ask at the front desk for other things that aren't already in the room. The breakfast is quite good, I'd say a notch above the Hampton Inn in terms of food quality. It has similar variety and breadth. It would be nice if there was 24 hour coffee in the lobby. They provide lots of coffee and a brewing pot in the room as a substitute. The dining area is a bit small for the number of guests that the hotel can hold but overall adequate. The fitness center was usable for a casual exerciser. I tried running on one of the treadmills and it had some common problems of hotel treadmills. But at least they were functional. I ran outside instead as there are loads of parking lots and sidewalks in the area and they look safe. I'd recommend running outside if weather permits. The pool is on the small side but functional. The dumbbells on the weight rack had corrosion on them. Not necessarily unusual for gyms but it's something that could be fixed. The beds were a little softer than I prefer - the Hampton Inn beds are generally firmer - though I know that preferences are all over the place. We were quite pleased with the price which was lower than we expected. I'd guess that this is due to their being a lot of hotels in the area and our stay was at an off-peak time. The place felt like they do a good job keeping the rooms occupied. read more

This hotel is gorgeous and the amenities are great. However when I stayed there, I left a dress hanging in the closet. I realized this about an hour after I left and called immediately as it was a $200 dress. I got transferred to housekeeping, left a message, and never received a call back. I left various messages and call back numbers with people at the desk and anyone that would talk to me and nothing came of it. It's not 3 months later and I've decided to give up. This was a very busy weekend and I have been here before and I did not review. Today I am choosing to give 5 stars because I encountered several problems and the staff worked hard to correct as best possible. The front desk crew was very happy and made our stay enjoyable. The breakfast room was very busy as I was there late (9am) and there was a large crowd of people. Almost everything was empty. Some got refilled but many did not. (No cut fruit, ketchup bottles all empty) I was able to get one cup of tea but then water ran out for second cup. Juices were filled. Omelette station is a nice touch but I didn't want to wait. You fill out a slip and then they bring it to you. The one lady filling the drink containers was extremely nice and working very hard. (She even brought me some lemon . That always makes my day. Overall we enjoyed our stay. FYI. They are currently under construction so expect some issue but staff is accommodating and friendly. read more

Strange as it may be, when I entered Hyatt House Fishkill my WAZE app took me to a cemetery about 0.5 miles from the property. When the address was entered it got me there. So the hotel... It is very nice. Like all Hyatt properties: well maintain and very well managed. Even the breakfast was well managed. Despite the overwhelming number of people (frankly I would have given Hyatt a pass had things fouled up), the staff handled it well. We stayed there last night for a romantic evening. When we checked in the service was impecable . They told us we were upgraded to a complimentary suite. We thought that was awesome due to the fact we were celebrating my birthday this weekend. The suite was more then comfortable. The breakfast was very good and enjoyable. Here are the issues as to why I am only giving 3 stars. * Bed was way to hard *Pillows were too soft with no extra in the room *Only 2 bath towels in the room. Here is the biggest compliant that is causing this hotel to receive 3 stars. The fire alarm in the room went off 3 times : Once at 9 pm again at 1130 pm and again 5am. I called the front desk and they were not alarmed by it. They did not know why and said every thing was OK. When we were eating breakfast downstairs we heard it again. Very scary read more

I came here for a business event with several others and we all were upgraded to suites from the standard king rooms upon arrival, which was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were clean and extremely comfortable, and the hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. When I went to add a water to my room charge, the guy at the front desk waved me away and simply smiled and said it was "on me." Our meetings were never interrupted and the room was comfortable for a large group. The hotel is in proximity to many restaurants, which was nice for us when we wanted to leave the grounds. Breakfast, while a small buffet, was still ample. I highly recommend this hotel if you're staying in the area. read more

Very nice hotel, rooms are very quiet. There was an indoor pool and a fitness center. The conference facilities and business office looked great for anyone that wants to have conferences here. Our room was perfect, extremely clean and bed was very comfortable. Location was great, lots of food around and a few stores. Customer service was just okay. They had several weddings there that weekend and I don't think they prepared for it, as there were people all over the lobby waiting to get into their rooms. This hotel was a HUGE disappointment. We stayed here for a wedding and encountered a myriad of problems. First off we received an email saying that we could upgrade our room which my friend did to a suite. We get to the hotel there was no upgrade... It was never even possible as the hotel was full. One girl on staff was very apologetic but the manager barely said sorry. There was also supposed to be an air mattress in our room. There was no air mattress in the room. We went to the front desk again and asked for one where they told us repeatedly they were going to send one right up. 45 minutes later a housekeeper came with a blanket and pillow saying this was the best they could do. My friend eventually had to room with someone else from the wedding to avoid sleeping on the floor since the air mattress apparently didn't exist. We also never received our wedding gift baskets that the bride had painstakingly put together for all the guests at her wedding. The cherry on top of the stay was the morning after the wedding when we found out the hotel hadn't CLEANED THE BRIDE AND GROOMS ROOM!! The staff seemed overwhelmed and unprepared as if they had never had a full hotel before with actual people coming to stay. read more

I've never left a review for anything, ever, but this is an exception. At 3 o'clock in the morning my alarm started going off every ten minutes, and I asked a security guard to come up and look at the situation. He left, saying that he'd look into it. I called up the front desk and was put in touch with "Merg" asking if I could be switched into a new room. He said that they couldn't fix the problem, that I should "deal with it" and that I should try to get in touch with a manager the next day and try to get my money back, despite the fact that I was being woken up every five minutes and despite the fact that I was worried about what the potential cause of the alarm was, whether it was carbon monoxide, or whatever. I kept demanding new room or solution to the problem, and Merg told me that he gets "mad money and women" and that I should "meet him in the Wal-mart parking lot at 7 am" where he insinuated that I would meet him and his friends and presumably get jumped. I've never run into a guido low-life like this in my life, and am absolutely astonished somebody like this has a job in the first place. If you're passing by and need a place to stay, there are plenty of other places to choose from and I would highly recommend avoiding this hotel. Besides the service, the venue was dirty, sheets were not clean and evidence of cockroaches. Insane experience. The desk manager named Merg should be stripped of his job. read more

The hotel had very good facilities (fitness center, indoor pool with hot tub). The staff was quite nice. The breakfast was absolutely amazing and blew my wife and I away. The hotel is going through renovation on certain rooms when we stayed there so in the hallway, the odor was very strong. But overall, a very good hotel. read more

For the price, our experience far exceeded our expectations. We were up for a funeral and needed a convenient place to stay, close to my mother in law in Wappingers. I originally booked a single room with 2 queen beds, thinking it would be me and one (maybe 2) of my teenage sons. Turns out all 3 of my sons wanted to stay at the hotel. The clerk on duty saw the size of my kids and immediately volunteered to upgrade us to a 2 bedroom suite. The suite was SWEET (as my middle son said). It was modern, clean, and spacious. 2 large well appointed bedrooms with nice TVs and full bathrooms and closets. A full kitchen, desk and pull out sofa with another TV. Our complimentary breakfast included omelettes made to order, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, etc. Honestly, i can't imagine a better deal $113 for a 2 bedroom suite and free breakfast for 4 people the next morning. read more

When we first entered the hotel after a long day on the road we were pleasantly surprised at the appearance and amenities. Once we were there for a little longer though we started to see the many flaws. A few examples: There were cigarette burns in the rugs in our room. There was confetti all over the floor from what was probably a New Years Eve party the night before. The restaurant/lounge was closed for the weekend. There were stains on the sheets. The dishes and silverware were all dirty. The crib that we paid to rent for the night (at $15!) was old and no compliant with safety, my son got his foot stuck between the metal slats numerous times throughout the night. We also had dogs staying in the rooms all around us, and while I love dogs... I am allergic. On our way out the next morning we also found there was no water pressure in the shower. Very mediocre stay. I would not recommend. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! THIS HOTEL WILL CHARGE YOU $250 FOR SMOKING WHEN YOU DIDN'T SMOKE!!!!!! I am very offended because I am not a smoker and neither is my husband. I have never smoked in my life. We booked this hotel using hotels.com and had a fine stay overnight for 1 night in April. I received my credit card statement yesterday and the hotel charged us $250 for supposedly smoking. I asked the hotel for any proof or any more information and they just said, "I'm sorry ma'am." They would not provide any proof or refund our money. First of all, I am incredibly sensitive to the smell of cigarette smoke, and half the time I go back to get a different hotel room or rental car if there is the faintest smell of smoke. This room did not smell like smoke at all. Hotels.com attempted to contact management but the hotel says they don't have a manager on the premises, which is impossible because it is very large. Hotel.com was very helpful, only they told me the hotel says I should take it up with my credit card company. read more
