Half of egg and cheese on crossiant
    Hafsa M.

Overpriced for no reason. Picked up a egg and cheese on crossiant for 4.99. I was expecting a decent size sandwich.. it was small, the bottom was burnt and barley and egg in it. Then there was a sign posted that 5 is the minimum for credit cards, understandable. I picked up a roll of candy (it was small). It was 2.99!?!?!?!?. Then I started asking the prices. Everything was more then double the price. Nothing was labeled and it honestly looked like the clerk was making up the prices as it goes. Never again going here.

It was bland but they have Sriracha and hot sauce so heh

Wish they had the hot bar ready (it's 9 am!) but they didn't so I had to order an Omelette. It's fine. Place is clean, they are polite.

Little cafe located in the Inova Healthplex.

I stopped into La Madeline for lunch while running some errands. Parking was a breeze as it shares…read morea large lot with the shopping center it's a part of. What I love about La madeleine is its ability to have good French inspired dished in a fast casual setting, I felt like I am stepping into a quaint Parisian bistro. The staff is courteous and gave great recommendations. I highly recommend La Madeline. To eat I got the tomato soup which is thick like a bisque but is more importantly very YUMMY (psst, there is a reason they sell it by the jar if you want). I also ordered the prime rib and provolone sandwich. The sandwich is great on its own having plenty of meat, even more gooey provolone, and a great aioli sauce, but... dip it in the tomato soup and BOOM, a whole new level of goodness.

Ordinarily, this La Madeleine would be an easy five stars. The breakfast was delicious, and I had…read morequite possibly the BEST PARISIAN HOT CHOCOLATE of my life! It was rich, warm, creamy and absolutely perfect. But unfortunately, the cashier single-handedly dimmed the experience. There were four of us dining on a Saturday morning, and we placed a pretty solid order of entrées, beverages, pastries... the works. Despite that, the cashier greeted every simple request with the strongest attitude I've seen before 10 a.m. We asked for our cookies in a bag instead of on a plate, we got an attitude. We asked for one order of the eggs to be cooked a specific way, we got an attitude. I ordered extra croissants, and she put them on a plate instead of in a bag... and somehow I still got the attitude. Long story short: the food was excellent, the hot chocolate was perfection, the other staff was friendly/helpful, but the customer service was giving "absolutely not." I hope this was just an off day, because everything else deserved five shining stars.

Long line, but definitely worth it. Came in on a rainy day and close to closing time (closes at 3pm…read moreon Sundays and Mondays), so one can imagine that the pastries were already swept. They were a few left, so we got an orange blossom oat toffee cookie. It was perfectly balanced with floral notes, tanginess from the orange, and caramel-y sweetness from the toffee. We also appreciated the lattes: halawa honey and baklawa mocha. Never thought to add tahini to my coffee (halawa) and the rose and orange blossom notes were nice touches to the baklawa mocha. You may add sweetener yourself to get it to your preferred level of sweetness. I definitely would love to come back, particularly early, to be able to sit down, relax, and have a slow meal with a latte and a book. (That and to see more variety at the pastry window!!)

There's a lot of seating indoors but can be a little hard if you're looking for a quieter atmosphere. They also have a couple of seats outdoors. The pastries were almost barren/nearly sold out, but definitely saw and have had previously the chicken shawarma pita sandwich which was delicious! This time I ordered the Halawa Honey which was a bit too sweet, but it was a nice twist of flavor and you could taste the tahini. My friend ordered the Baklawa Mocha which was a little too icy and I felt had too much milk. It drowned out the other flavors which was a bit disappointing.

The current seasonal items may be the best we've ever had, the bacon egg and cheese sandwich is delicious and comes with the perfect spicy aoli kick, that adds amazing flavor. During the fall, you can never go wrong with the pumpkin pancake, so gooood. And whenever they have some type of corn bread or different flavored scone, we always order and it always hits! It was around 10am, so not many people, but it did start getting full. It's open, the booths are big and comfy, typically if you come to First Watch on the weekend it's packed, so it was nice to have a stress free experience. SERVICE: They are kind and to the point. My bf is in tech so he has a habit of taking his laptop everywhere-- I tend to think there are certain places you can have laptops and certain places where you can't. First Watch is one of those places where I'm like eh.... Maybe not. But I did! We didn't stay long and only had our laptops open for the meal, but no one said anything so it was solid. Additionally, I didn't know what I wanted to eat because I wanted to be a little adventurous so I ask the waitress what I should get. I am sometimes hesitant to ask bc I always feel they're going to upcharge me instead of giving me their opinion, but I don't believe she did thank and I was grateful! Wish I got her name. FOOD: So, for me she suggested the chilaquiles. I trusted her input and ordered that! I was hesitant because, traditionally, that dish is typically very heavy and spice-based, and I didn't know if I wanted to start the day off with food like that, but it was SO GOOD. Lots of flavors. I was very happy. First Watch is always a treat. Fresh food and good times!
