Been coming here for a really long time but sad to say it's not what it used to be. Most of the food is salty or too dry. Portions might as well be weighed since they give little rice and beans. I have liked everything I have tried there so far. Loved the cold chicken salad sandwich they have in the mornings. Salteñas are so good. Their Tres Leches cake is delish! I also tried their corn tamal and their tostada. Both of them very good! The one thing about this place that does not get a star is the customer service. It's not my cup of tea. 3.5 stars. I've never been a huge fan of Latin pastries in general. On the whole I find them a bit dry and the sweet ones rarely sugary enough for my gargantuan sweet tooth. But Panaderia Latina has converted me. And it's not just the pastries that appeal to me in this little Latin deli. It's the all-around atmosphere of the joint. You walk in to Pop Latino loudly playing and crowds of Latino customers lining up for the hot buffet, filling up on pastry, and enjoying animated conversation at the small tables in the dining area. And during fútbol season, hard-core groups of fans even gather to drink Modelos and Coronas first thing in the morning. You'll probably be the only non-Latino in the joint your entire visit which, to me, is always welcome in a dining experience and usually signals authenticity. Aromas of papas, menudo, pupusas, plantains, rice and beans, or whole fried fish might fill the air on any given day. Rows and rows of pastries, each in their own bin or own baskets on shelves, line up like little carb soldiers at the ready. Grab a parchment lined basket and a pair of tongs, load up, and pay at the register. Stock up on alfajores, churros, pastilles, semita, orejas, pan de leche or francés, and empanadas to name just a few. Husband and I particularly like the empanada de leche with its delicious custard filling; the cheese rolls with a savory, salty cheese crust on top; and the semita de piña with a sticky, chunky pineapple filling. Patrons and employees alike have been most helpful when we stop by, since neither husband nor I speak Spanish and none of the signage is in English. We've never had a problem finding what we need or talking with the counter staff, tho, as they all seem to speak enough English to understand our laughable attempts at communication. I still think Latin pastries tend towards the dry side, but Panaderia Latina's are tempting enough for me to bring a bagful home where the oven coaxes more life out of them. A great breakfast / lunch stop! Don't expect much English to be spoken here. I went looking for breakfast along my day's route and saw a sign for IHOP. As I turned into the parking lot, I encountered a little international strip mall. I like Latin American food, so I thought I'd try Panaderia Latina, as there was a sign in one of the windows proclaiming breakfast and lunch served there. I am not fluent in Spanish, and my order taker was not conversant in English, so I just pointed away and received a nice breakfast. Well, maybe 2 breakfasts piled onto one plate - I did a lot of pointing. This is also a nice bakery. Fantastic looking baked goods, including cakes, cookies, and other Latin American specialties. Plenty of seating at tables and booths, but I can imagine it gets pretty crowded around mealtime. Popular Latino music playing. Throw-away plates and eating utensils. Pan and palmiers are in the middle of the facility in cases, which makes the facility look crowed and unorganized. There is a hot food buffet and cold pastries cases near the register. The facility lighting is a little dark, I think the windows are tinted. Tables line the window area. There is no table service (in case you were wondering). Walked in and immediately wanted to walk out. I stayed though and made my way around to the cold case. I was greeted by a server who didn't speak English. No worries, I only wanted cake. I asked for their Tres Leche cake. She handed me a cake with fruit and cream in the middle for $5 and change. I paid and took a long hard look at my tres leche cake. It didn't look moist. I was gonna try it, but took a around again and found what i was looking for (take a look at the picture I took to accompany this review). I was too excited, and let me excitement cloud my judgment when I decided to exchange my fruit and cream filled cake for the drunken one. The tres leche cake. I waited until I got to the car and ripped it open (all I did was unsnap it, but that didn't sound as good). I immediate smelled cinnamon and noticed that the liquid looked like 2% milk. It smelled like horchata and look like it was covered in regular milk (for those of you who don't know, tres leche means three milks, so the liquid should be thick and creamy, almost like a whipping cream or pet milk). It tasted like cake covered milk with cinnamon and whip cream on top. I was over it. and even though the cake was drenched in milk, the bottom tasted dry as a flour less chocolate cake. Considering the service was bland and and the cake was bad, I probably won't be back unless a yelper regular at this establishment can convince me otherwise. Not today Panderia Latina. read more

I stayed at the TERRIBLE Days Inn and came here for a quick cup of coffee and was seduced by a churro and pan de queso. The baked goods were nice and fresh and the service was very courteous. It looks like the place is known more for their buffet style lunches, all the fresh food looked delicious but sadly we were on our way to brunch and had to pass. Odd little spot. Baked goods are yummy and cheap. I've tried the cakes, apple turn overs and twisted donuts. Now for the odd part. They serve a small buffet of random spanish food. If custumer service is a big deal to you there is a big chance that you will not enjoy this place. I usually don't mind the lack of greetings, but this is something that makes me want to come back to certain places. There was no greetings here or someone trying to help me. From other panaderia items I've eaten in the past, I thought this bakery's items were very similar in quality. WARNING - This bakery can cause you to eat extensive amount of carbs! Since Hee Been did not open until 12:00, my family and I decided to check out this Latin Bakery. Walking in I fell in love. The bakery was AWESOME! Rows of delicious breads, sweet treats and Latin addictions filled this place! The concept is easy...pick up a basket and a pair of tongs and pick away on what you want to purchase. I like the fact that most of the items were stored in containers to keep away from bugs and the hands of little kids. The best items in the bakery were the churros, pan de leche, pan de queso and the lenguas. They have a little cafeteria as well that we did not try, but from the looks of it, it looked muy delicioso! Everyone here was very nice and as always I was spoken to in Spanish...since most people have a hard time trying to figure out my nationality. David and I paid $20.00 an we totally scored on 16 types of bread...ha....yeah, we went a lil overboard! Definitely a great place and I hope Atlanta has something close to this! This place is truly a disgrace to Latino panaderias that truly make best efforts to make authentic pan dulce. As an earlier Yelper commented, this place is overpriced and has poor quality pan dulce. Indeed it does and I should have taken such advice! Starting with the cheese Danish, the bread had a smell from the cheese they use and the quality of dough is worst I have ever had for a Danish. As for the typical pan dulce such as Quesadilla, pan de aniz, cuviletes (similar to muffins) all lacked taste and authenticity. Whatever flour they use is poor quality compared to true panaderias. Perhaps since the owner is not Hispanic could be part of the problem.... read more

Maybe it was the Spanish pop music blaring outside the parking lot. Or, perhaps instead, it was the unusual presence of a Latina bakery amid a strip mall of Asian-owned eateries. For whatever reason, I felt drawn to this oddity right next to Grand Mart, a Korean grocery store. It's a place I doubt "outsiders" venture often. As I walked inside, I noticed that the only non-Hispanic people were the Korean owners behind the cash registrars. If the international phone cards and money-wire transfer didn't give it away, then certainly the pinatas told me that this place primarily catered to immigrant Latino laborers. There was no menu and very few price tags. There was, however, a small la carte cafeteria and several aisles of breads, pastries, and cakes. No Hablas Espanol? Then good luck. With my limited middle-school-taught Spanish and clever finger pointing I did somehow manage to place an order. Carne? Si, por favor. I ended up with a plate of brisket topped with pico de gallo (apparently the way everyone eats it), fried potato wedges, sausage & peppers, and cornmeal flat bread. Sadly, the dry brisket left me wanting a heavy coat of barbeque sauce; the sausage reminded me of canned Vienna sausages; and, the fried potato wedges existed only as unremarkable carbohydrates dipped in oil. I did, surprisingly, enjoy the flat bread (pan) filled with a wonderful shredded chicken. It was a great balance of a gritty cornmeal exterior and a moist meaty interior. At the end, I should've ordered the roasted chicken with rice & beans instead. Among the wide-selection of pastries, of which they all looked very tempting, I chose the pineapple empanada (pastel de pia). The crust was thick and almost like a crumbly cookie so I'd recommend that you bite straight into the moist filling and discard the edges. After auditing my receipt, I figured that the hot plate was $8.99, the flat bread an additional $1.75, and the pastry was $1.00. I'm confused as to why Panaderia draws such a huge Latino customer base. The food was mediocre and, other than the pastries, the lunch prices were rather average as well. Nonetheless, a cafeteria filled with Latinos can't be wrong. For this sole reason alone, I am sure to return to ensure that I'm not overlooking anything. Bakery - 4 Stars - I'll definately be back whenever I'm in the area. Cafeteria - 3 Stars - It's pretty ordinary and I'd go back if there's nowhere else I'd rather go. read more

This place is really as authentic as it gets in this area. Go in for a brunch and just point at things in the buffet to try, chances are you won't go wrong with anything. Everything is as good as homemade, if not better! They also have the best Tres Leches cake I've ever had from a bakery. Extremely reasonably priced. Bakery - Not excellent, but in the area it appears to be the only one to buy latin pastries/bread. There is decent variety. Hot Food - cheap. mostly greasy staples, but overall decent. The box is filled with crispy pork, spanish rice, veggies, and plantains. Got churros as well and they were OK. They needed a little mircowave action to get it going. The pork was really good and tastes fresh. There is always a line around 12-1pm on weekdays but for over a pouund of food for around 4 bucks? You can't deny this place for the value. read more

My boyfriend went to get food for his lunch break for him and his friends, he said there was two women talking and he was ignored for a few minutes while they continued to have a conversation. After a few minutes of waiting they finally took his order, however the lady who took his order was very rude and had a bad attitude. It took another few minutes to receive his order while she went back to the conversation she was having with the other woman. After finally receiving the order my boyfriend did not receive his order complete, they had forgotten a side of eggs he had ordered. Also, when he began to eat his food he realized that there was a piece of banana in his food and to our greater dismay, his friend received a small rock in his order of beans. That is not acceptable. The service was horrible, unprofessional, and the food is pricey. I highly recommend people not to come to this location. read more

I love the cafeteria-style food. I haven't tried the scary-looking whole fish so I can't speak to that but I love the tamales, pupusas, and rice here. You will feel out-of-place if you don't speak Spanish well but it's worth it. The food is delicious. There are no prices or menus posted, and forget trying to figure it out. I just pay what they tell me. I've also had the pastel de tres leches, which is outstanding. I haven't tried any of the other cakes in the bakery display but they look delicious. The disappointing part for me was the breads and pastries in self-serve bins in the middle of the store. They're fine, but nothing special.
