    Saltenas de pollo y carne

Great variety of baked goods at a very affordable price, they are fresh and delicious. I loved the savory pastries and the concha , I also tried some saltenas but I wasn't a fan because they were sweet and while love sweet and salty, this were not what i would go for. But the chickenc was juicy

Cute local Bolivian/Central American bakery that recently opened up in the Trader Joe's plaza - look for their black easel set outside that states their daily specials! They had some pastries in the wall bakery case as well as breakfast options. I personally was in a mood for some empanadas, so I was happy to find them looking all delicious at the front! I ordered the queso and the pollo empanadas, and a pollo saltena. The empandas exterior was slightly crispy and a little chewy; the queso had a good amount of cheese in it, but I was a total fan of the pollo - the chicken was super well-seasoned, juicy, flavorful, and had a slight kick to it. I was surprised that the empanada itself wasn't soggy, as it had a bit of juice within! The pollo saltena was okay - a little on the sweeter side, and I feel that the exterior crust could have been better. Maybe the carne version is tastier? Staff were friendly, and there were some limited seating inside. The hot food looked delicious as well, so I'd be interested in trying a platter on the next visit. Plenty of parking in the large plaza lot. +tasty chicken empanadas! +friendly staff +some seating inside +located near Full Kee +plenty of parking in the plaza lot

First time in - lots of different baked goods along the wall on the left - all looked good and sugary! I tried one each of the empenada pollo, saltenas de pollo, and tamales de pollo. So far I've had the saltena - amazing! And the empenada - also delicious. Try the green pepper sauce they offer, it's flavorful with a nice tiny bite. Will definitely be back! PS It's located where the long time pho Vin Loi restaurant used to be.

The restaurant seems geared toward local regulars who want a drink, not random visitors who want a meal. The service was a bit off. We weren't given water and chips and salsa, a standard for most similar restaurants. Our server seemed inexperienced and not overly concerned about being sanitary - she served a glass after holding finger in it. We were also given confusing instructions. I ordered chicken tacos, but was told that I could only get steak, but my wife order beef nachos but was told that she could only have chicken. Strange, right? The food was decent. The pupusas were tasty but really big. The nachos had good flavor, but the strange refusal to provide beef loomed large. The guacamole was not pure avocado, but some flavorless mix. My tacos were overloaded with beef and chicken. It was ok. There was an aloofness. Almost a surprise about our visit. Maybe because of the time, about 5:30 on a Saturday evening, or because of the language barrier. It just didn't feel comfortable. I won't be returning to see if it improves.

The bar had a half dozen guys sitting at it, with no noticeable conservations going on. The music was somewhat loud, but not too loud to be an issue. One thing we found amusing was a guy who was hunched over on the table who was shitfaced. He would occasionally open his eyes, but would then go back to pass out mode drooling on his shirt. Good food with goofball customers. I'll return
