I love Spring Nails. Sophia does my nails so beautifully each time of the three that I have been to see her. She is very nice and she even remembered my name the last time I came (July 14 2018). My most recent set of nails, yellow with sunflowers, is so elegant that i have gotten many compliments and many messages from people asking where I got it done. I work at a pizza place, and I have even had customers ask me where I got my nails done. I always refer them to Sophia at Spring Nails. Their prices are reasonable and very fair based on how sanitary and good the work is. In fact, I have been getting compliments on my nails since I started coming here. Below are -pictures of my nails starting from my first visit, Feb 2017. Each time my nails have looked better. I was searching for my favorite place to go and after going to many, I settled on Spring Nails again in September of 2017 and October. Because of cheerleading, I didn't return until March 2018 and have been returning every month. Sophia's work is definitely my favorite out of all the times I have come here. I love this place!! I totally recommend this nail salon. It would be helpful for them if you book an appointment ahead of time and bring cash for backup. I love the ladies working here Sophia (the owner) and Mai. It's totally love when you find the salon that takes care of you and you definitely feel it. They're very very good, nice and hard working. I love how they give details to everything. This is my go-to nail salon now. I always had mani and pedi here with awesome paraffin wax and hot stone massage. Oh my very relaxing! This place is great! Oanh (number 1i is great, quick, sweet and detailed! Also, her designs are awesome! Their always busy on Fridays so I would avoid them if your in a hurry or just call and make an appointment. I haven't been here in over a year, but I can't wait to go here the next time I'm in California for my next waxing (not that I wait until I'm in California to wax... it's just that... forget it....). I wish I know who it was who did my waxing--I only came in here 3 times--but each time I was extremely satisfied. I walked in each time on a weekday with no appointment and even though the workers were in the middle of a conversation or eating lunch, they stopped what they were doing to help me. As for the waxing job, whoever did mine (it might have been a different woman each time--again, the last time I came in was a while back, July 2008) sculpted my brows very well and to my liking (I like mine looking very "natural"). And then, when she tweezed to clean up, it was nearly painless. I didn't come out with dots of blood all over my brow, like the salon just around the corner. Upper lip waxing was done nearly painlessly, as well. And then she finished up with some nice, soothing oils to reduce the redness and any pain I *may* have experienced. And the price was great--I believe with tip I paid about $16 total, so I'm guessing that each job (brows and upper lip) was $6. PLEASE go here--this is a great business. I miss California salons so much--I have to pay over $30 for the same amount of work done in Wisconsin. Ugghh. read more

Came here before NYE to fix one nail that broke from a set from NUME In HAYWARD which I will never go back to. Came in two days ago for a new set and nail take-off. It was slow so I was seated fast. I did coffin shape with shellac polish. It took about 1.5 hr for my visit. I have no complaints except that they really favor their regular customers like they won't talk to you even when they leave so it's kind of awkward. My nails tho...... On point! I didn't catch the name on the nail tech but she's the one who doesn't wear as much makeup and 7inch wedges. She did a very good job. She has like OCD but in a good way. She made sure every all glued on was straight, the shape was perfect and everything was filed evenly. For the polish I felt she kind of rushed but she's still did a good job. I yet to have a pedicure here which I'm super picky with so we'll see how it goes read more

My new nail place! Oanh is the lady to hit up if you want cute nails! For the past couple times that I have came in, she eyeballed her designs on my nails with jewels. They came out really cute and I'm definitely satisfied with them. She's really easy to talk to and she can hold a great conversation unlike other nail locations where the conversations sometimes feel forced. They may be busy but they will definitely accomodate you as soon as they can since they are helping several clients at once. If you're really on a time schedule and need/want only Oanh, give a call ahead of time, but it's always great that they are accommodating to walk ins. Moving here from San Leandro my sister and I needed to find a new manicure place. The place was clean and the two ladies helped us were super friendly. There was a confusion when my sister went to pay because we used a yelp coupon and the lady who wasn't helping either one of us told the man that my sister came here before and can't use the coupon. I had a little bit of wtf moment because the last time we had a pedicure a few weeks ago was in fremont with my brothers girlfriend and before that it's always in San Leandro. We NEVER had a pedicure in Union City ever before. This is the first spot we ever tried here in UC. But the man was nice to honor the coupon even though the lady was convinced my sister was here before. I guess my sister just has the Asian face that looks like everyone else. read more

Okay so I will be fair and start off by saying that Oanh was professional and welcoming as soon as I walked in. However, none of the other women working are even bothered by your presence. They almost don't even notice you. Oanh took me right in and got started and I must say I really enjoyed my experience. That particular time. So I come back literally 3 days later to get a nail fixed because it just broke off throughout the day. And I don't work in hard labor so I wasn't sure what happened but I went right back on that date came in and some other lady worked on my broken nail. It didn't come out the same as the other nails and the lady was not very personable. So the next 2 days another nail breaks but because I just simply assumed I jammed my hand I must have been at fault and even told them that. Although they didn't charge me the last time they definitely charged me this time. No biggie since I thought it was my own fault. But what made this experience incredibly not enjoyable was that the lady working on my nail had started to buff my nail with the machine. I don't know why she was trying to make the smoothness of my nail so perfect if she was putting gel on top but she kept going and I could start to feel burning like she was about to hit skin!!!! I yanked my hand away from her in pain and said I think you should stop. She looked at it again, pick up the file and then picked up the damn buffer machine again and went to work!!!! Broad get off my nail!!!! Oanh had seen the sham of a job this lady was doing and began to take over but then gave me back to this inexperienced woman to finish me off. It looked awful and didn't match the shape and she tried for 10 minutes trying to convince me that the color I picked was wrong. She was a moron. Not to mention when I asked for a wax Oanh went around to each lady and asked one by one if they wanted to do it. Mind you they were ALL sitting in front of me ALL saying no. So Oanh asks me to come back the next day. No thanks. I'll go somewhere who has a real license and who is willing to do their CRAFT! But the very next week after getting my nails done what happens..? ANOTHER NAIL BREAKS!!!!!!! On the opposite hand!!!!!!! I was furious!!!! I will never go back and I suggest that if you do decide to take a chance on this place stick with Oanh and only for certain projects. I honestly believe that not everyone in that shop is certified to even work there. There's different stations where the ladies sit to do nails but all the licenses have Oanh's name on it only. I guess they think no one reads but I definitely noticed that. Save yourself the trouble and possible staph infection or broken nails or whatever else this place has to offer... I was excited when KNL Nail Salon opened near my place. They then started to do really mediocre work and the employees never really made you feel welcomed and led to me not even wanting to get my nails done anymore. I stumbled upon Spring Nails one time after getting my eyebrows done next door and ever since then, I am so glad I decide to stop by! Sophia, who I believe was the owner, greeted me right away and asked what I needed. I usually go for coffin but I wanted something shorter but cute since I type a lot at work. I had asked for oval and when she cut down my nails, she asked if it was a comfortable length for me as she asked me to close my nails into my hand to see if it was ok. I HAVE NEVER experienced that in any nail salon! A little extra attention goes a long way and after my nails getting done, they lasted a good 3 weeks and still looked new! I came back and her other employee (I didn't get her name unfortunately) was able to get my last few nails off of my full set and did an amazing job at my nails. Just moved to the area and came here because it's close to my house. This place has great customer service! Super friendly! Shout out to Sophia! She made my nails look perfect! I usually don't get my nails done because I always feel disappointed of how it turns out (tried many places), feels like a waste of money. But when I met Sophia, she gave me options and offered designs. She was very patient with me when choosing a color and design. While she did my nails, she was very gentle and very attentive. Business is under new management. Came there to remove acrylics and have a gel manicure. They tried buffing off the acrylics and it would burn my nails. When I flinched because of the pain, they just laughed at me. Didn't have any colors for gel in stock. And the manicure didn't last more than a few days.
