Owner is a horrible bully. He will stand outside and yell at you for your dog going to the bathroom on the street (where they're supposed to go). We have lived in this neighborhood a decade and have been going since we moved here. He has a great employee who is so friendly and the convenience was always lovely, but the way the owner behaved which was truly borderline verbal abuse, I will walk anywhere else over the convenience. read more

I go in here to buy snacks and tobacco products and pull out my Arizona government certified id on the az mobile id app. Which I've used at the airport, in bars, to buy alcohol and tobacco product elsewhere. And they would not sell to me. I tried explaining to them that it can be used in place of a physical id and I left empty handed. I love Spring Mart. They're open 24/7 and in the past they have fulfilled my need for the following: - Non alcoholic beverages to bring to a fancy brunch (Orangina and fancy lemonade in a cool glass bottle) - Coffee filters (in three different size options) - Candy (everything from run of the mill to imported European hotness) - Cold medicine (a huge selection rivaling Walgreen's including the tiny packets of 2 pills) - Danish for a book club meeting (they have Entermann's, as every NYC bodega should) Also beer, wine, lottery tickets, cigarettes, lots of food, and a deli, although I can't say I've ever eaten there. The place is well-lit, huge, clean, the guys who work there are nice, it feels really safe, the ATM isn't ultra-sketchy, I can't recommend Spring Mart enough. They're open 24/7 as far as I am aware, and have everything you could ever want ranging from electronics, phone accessories, batteries, sandwiches, candy, ice cream, etc etc. It's basically a large grocer / deli minus all the pretentious atmosphere that large macro-grocers like Shop & Save and Walmart carry about them. When you're drunk, it's 3am or later and you need some energy fueling substance Spring Mart is it. A few blocks down the road from the flat is all a gal like me could as for. Completely friendly and talkative store employees. Plus the customers don't harass you badly here as some other joints that are open for pizza this late. It's refreshing to come back after an art gallery opening and enjoy the serenity of food, drink, and a little chit chat. I happened to spot the Spring Mart the other day and decided to stop after seeing it was a smoke shop. This was my first time visiting. I was overwhelmed with the excellent customer service from the time I walked in until leaving. The associate who waited on me provided courteous and helpful customer service. There was a line behind me but he still thoroughly showed me his selection for the item I was looking for then explained in detail how to work the product I decided on and cashed out my transaction quickly after. I will definitely be visiting this establishment again soon. read more

Perhaps one of the most notably awfully managed markets I have ever had the misfortune of trying to be a regular customer of. They are rude, racist and treat people really poorly. Today's shabby treatment was over a bagel. I watched customers leave as they treated me in a very shabby way. One lady said she was going to buy something but after seeing how they treat customers she was going somewhere else. A long time ago my wife forbade me from going back there. I haven't written a review in almost a year. I guess I've been waiting to see if we'd get another yelp 100 challenge. But at this point, I think I've stored up enough potential reviews that I'm safe. Anyway, I can't say I come into Spring Mart a lot. I pass by when I'm walking my dog. It seems like a regular convenience store. Prices are either standard for normal items you'd find anywhere or inflated to take advantage of people who don't know where the nearest grocery store is or who live nearby and are too lazy to walk. This is one of those stores where if you need something, you kind of just have to go inside and see if they have it. Everyone doesn't have the same definition of necessities. As an example of some of the items Spring Mart sells I've seen candy, soda, and shampoo (obviously), Dr. Bronner's Soap (great if you're a convert and you don't want to run to those health/vegan stores in the Village), jam and preserves (which are not the same thing), salsa and chips (for when you forgot you were throwing a party), overpriced cereal, Kraft macaroni and cheese (because every place apparently has to sell it), pasta, quinoa, milk, agave, Burt's Bees shampoo, Head and Shoulders shampoo, almonds, pistachios, walnuts, chocolate, baking supplies, and flour. So yeah, you kind of just have to go in. It's not a place you go out of your way to visit but if you live nearby and you need something it's quite possible they'll have it. Or not. read more

I came here twice a day.. eventhought Duane reade just 2 blocks away, I stll love to come here they offer everything u could possibly imagine toe clipper,basic medicine ,lottos, Their choice of beverage and groceries are pretty impressive consider the size of store.. " she said they were all marked that price and he said "No, wrong price" and charged her $2.00 more. She paid and left. When we brought our bottle of water marked $1.75 (they all were) he again yanked of the sticker, said "Wrong price" and proceeded to ring it up at $2.75. I said "No, they're all marked that price" he said. "No, wing price, $2.75" I again told him they were all marked the same $1.75. He said "Not my fault, $2.75" At this point I said "Screw you and your bait and switch bull$hit." pushed the bottle across the counter to him, grabbed my money out of his greedy little hand, and walked out. read more

The level of customer service here is appalling. The cashier, in his infinite wisdom, thought he handed me my $6 pack of gum before I paid. When I told him, emptied my pockets and showed him it was still sitting on the cash register he told me he needed to review the security tape- bc "that was leftover from what he was unpacking earlier". Its a travesty that these small businesses have such disrespect for patrons...more over, he felt it was smart to create a 6 person line behind me while he was witnessing his own idiocracy! This shop is atrocious. If I could give it zero stars I would. The staff are unfriendly, rude, impatient and aggressive. I live around the block and so frequently have to come here for household items. The owner and staff have never once smiled, said you're welcome, offered me a bag, let me pack my bag before shouting at the next person to hurry up. The last straw was a week ago when I bough some chocolate from them, upon opening it at home it was literally grey and moldy. When we brought it back they suggested it was the normal colour of chocolate and verbally fought us when we requested a refund. Luckily a lawyer was in the queue beside us who said she would take legal action if they actually tried to suggest the chocolate was not rotten. eventually they gave us both a 50 dollar bill not to pursue the matter. This was my first time at Spring Mart the first day after moving to New York. I needed to get a few miscellaneous items to complete my move and opted to support the local convenience store instead of the large national chain pharmacies. I quickly realized what a huge mistake that was. The cashiers were inexcusably rude, had no respect and couldn't care less about my business. This doesn't even begin to touch on how absurdly overpriced every item is. Overall my experience was highly disappointing and would only recommend going to this convenience store not out of a desire for convenience but only necessity. There are multiple competitor convenience stores nearby as well as a Walgreens and CVS that would be far more appreciative of my business at a lower price.
