A snappy and impatient staffer mutated an order for 2 cookies into one for 6, nonchalantly presenting a $15 total. Normally this situation would be handled maturely by both sides (maybe even with a laugh), but instead she spat back 'you asked for 3 of each, loud and clear', so I felt a bit unwelcome. Customer service of even the mediocre variety would've been 'Oh, I heard / thought you said __' and maybe even a 'sorry', even if I *had* in fact uttered that. The New Jersey Cookie reminds you that Jersey has always had an understandable inferiority complex, boasting excellence it never delivers. This and the Chocolate Oatmeal cookie (half the diameter and twice the thickness- TWSS - and really dense in a not-good way) diluted the Robicelli name. The discounts mentioned by others could've lightened the blow, but still wouldn't justify a return visit sans Offer - there are just too many cafes these days.** Judging by the logo, they're apparently affiliated with Iconic Printing ***Robicelli Cookie $2.30 x 2 $5.01 Yes, a truly annoying penny extra - wonder if they do this if you pay cash, too... *They were out of their macarons and cupcakes as well as some other things on the very long menu atop the display but the counter was still packed, with sweets of all sorts scattered - don't look for more than a split-second or risk elicited askance glances) **Owners and friends/family of owners and fans of Iconic, keep your 'you really need to try the coffee' remarks to yourself. ***My visit coincided with PayPal's Android v5.5 bug, and when I tried to rectify it with the business on site, I basically got a 'GTFO, bud' despite there being no one in line. They sternly and dismissively deferred to PayPal (as a new business and given how bad PayPal is, I understand, but at least show some hint that you care) The owner did extensively reply to my email to both parties to explain why he couldn't resolve the situation and sort of apologize, which I appreciated, hence the 3, but the rest of the experience was a 1.5 a new offer and another issue - maybe due to the awkward penny 'correction'? Robicellis Blondie - ah, so that's what these are supposed to taste and feel like $2.98 Croissant - not worth it $2.30 Correction $0.01 $5.75 Almond/choco croissant - much friendlier staffers, mispronouncing apple mille feuille with me (and entering it into the POS after I left apparently) - not bad warmed up but nothing spectacular $3.45 -$3.00 Total $0.76 PB pretzel bar $4 - not bad read more

Run-of-the-mill coffee shop situated in one of NYC's trendiest neighborhoods. I usually go to this coffee shop out of convenience upon leaving the Broadway-Lafayette stop to go shopping in SoHo. I wouldn't go out of my way to get coffee here unless I am meeting up with another Iger (Instagram user) or friend. The drip coffee and pastries are meh. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Nice lighting from big windows that open up to the streets of passerby. The decor got to me a little - it started a conversation though! Too much going on. You would think that in one of the more trendier neighborhoods they would embrace a clean/sleek/minimalist vibe to tie into their surroundings. Other than that I had no problem with this shop, just not one of my favorites. Cozy place, kind staff, and quick service. read more

Iconic Cafe - A flat white made by my favorite barista - Keen. - Convenience Stores Near Me - New York, New York

Comfortable seating with full window views and very friendly staff. Update: SOMETIMES, it's 20% off pastries after 2 PM, then 40% off after 4 PM (or was it 6 PM?). I think the discounted pastries include only croissants and danishes though. According to my receipt, it looks like some of their baked goods are from Robicelli's! -New Jersey Cookie (Robicelli, $2.30 + tax): Meh. Tasted like a crispy corn muffin. -Marshmallow Brownie (Robicelli, $3.67 + tax): Omg. Ooey gooey goodness! Not actually a brownie, but a square of amazing fudge, butterscotch, pretzels, peanuts AND marshmallows - on top of a chocolate cookie!!! Salty and sweet, crunchy and gooey. Robicelli's does it right. :) -Cherry Danish ($2.99 total): Eh. Tasted old. -Cheese Danish ($2.99 total): Good, but, oh wait, this was stale, too. C'MON!!!! I was initially going to get an Almond Croissant, but after I saw a nasty gnat (yeck!) hovering over all the croissants and danishes, I opted for treats from the sealed jars and cases instead. Hence the 3 star rating, instead of 4. read more

Amongst the various crowded cafes of soho, iconic cafe is a nice place where seating will almost always be guaranteed. This is nice if you need a place to sit, but there is probably a reason why it's so empty compared to other local shops. I came here during my lunch break and was eyeing a nice, sweet snack with a tall cup of hot apple cider. The chocolate chip muffins looked deceptively promising in the eerily lit display case. I ordered one, and with high hopes bit into it only to be met with the most stale tasting baked good I have ever devoured in nyc. The muffin tasted like the last leftover muffin in a store bought pack of 6 that's been sitting out on a counter for several days that gets eaten only out of desperation. I took a few more bites more out of pity than anything to see if there was some goodness in there but there was none. I stopped my break short, threw out the muffin and sipped my hot apple cider as I dashed out the door. read more

Brand new coffee shop that opened in the soho /Bowery area. You immediately notice the minimalist decor. If you're looking out for this place note that there is no sign. They were giving away free coffee and cookies. Let me tell you they were both very delicious! In a neighborhood full of options for coffee this place will do well. Its off of Spring street and is off the path of tourist foot traffic so the wait times should be a bit more rolerable too read more

Woohoo! So glad something else opened up around here that doesn't have a line wrapping around the corner like Le Columbe. Just as tasty and kitty corner to my work place. Loves! read more

First time experience: Nice open environment with a great selection of unique and tasty pastries and treats. They have a nice selection of hot tea. I had a chai tea and an almond croissant, both of which were very good. Well priced and staff was friendly. One thing I did not like is how small it is. If you are looking for somewhere to sit down and chill this might not be the place. Great for a conversation over coffee, somewhere to get a little work done, or just a grab n go coffee/pastry. read more

This place is a very cute cafe. It has a very modern-rustic-urban-farm feel to the place. The cashier was very patient and friendly in helping me when I was being really indecisive. I'm a fan of pumpkin and she suggested that I try the pumpkin cream cheese, which I was hesitant about, but when I had it with my plain bagel it was delicious. The taste of pumpkin is very subtle, but it definitely there. I will be back to try the beverages on the menu next time. It's a nice place to take a break at after all that shopping and walking in SoHo. read more

This is a cute lookin' cafe located right by the 6 train, but their drinks were just ok. I originally got the strawberry and pineapple smoothie but it was so distasteful, I switched it out for a strawberry lemonade (they just added strawberries to the pre-made lemonade that was sitting in the cold section. read more

Lot of seating and lot of outlets to charge your electronics. It is pretty open and I like the pastries.

The staff is really really friendly and about the price? I would say right on pat with Starbucks. it's clean, and there are outlets underneath every bench for anyone that wants to work here. The have a variety of health snacks and beverages as well. read more

The photos on this review depict another business or one that's closed. This place is a bodega with cigars and that's it. No coffee bar.

Looks like a great new cafe, but it does seem pricey. I had a salad and iced coffee for $16. The quinoa, kale and olive salad was pre-made but it tasted fresh and excellent. The dressing really sealed the taste and the ingredients were hearty and crunchy. This area lacks quick lunch options, so let's hope that Iconic sticks around and develops a larger menu. read more

The space is Clean, rustic with a modern edge. At 9am it's almost empty. That is sure to change. I've been twice so far. The cortado was very good, though on the milkier side. (I know some people love it that way.) So, the next time I ordered it with skim and it was perfect. I have not tried anything but the coffee, read more

Hm not sure what to say been here a couple time ice coffee was really good. HOWEVER today went in there and I ordered a cortado and the two ladies working there had no idea how to make a shot of espresso the taste was off tasted like water with burnt coffee. Not to mention the steaming of milk (as a barista myself I know what should be what, not just talking nonsense). It is good spot for ice coffee would not get anything else anymore read more

Love this place! Glad it's nearby. Good coffee (I just had the drip), good looking pastry and selection of packaged snack foods, free wifi & good outlets. Has a good airy vibe and nice fixtures, love all the colorful tiles. Staff is friendly and helpful. read more

This shop has a variety of goods. It is somewhere between a grocery store and a smoke shop. Needless to say I come here for good related to both smoking and vaping. The store keepers are nice enough and always ready to make a deal. Prices are fair and I have no complaints. They have carried various brands of e-liquid I was not able to find at other shops. read more

Totally digging this café shop right on Lafayette right by the SoHo shopping area. I come here whenever there is 10-15 minutes to spare and I just want to drink some coffee in peace. The starbucks down the street is a zoo so Iconic is always my trusted coffee shop spot that will guarantee to keep me on time with way less people traffic. The coffee is also the kind that keeps you up and running for hours on end. Perfect addition in the SoHo area since it supplies and refuels folks with caffeine! read more

The new jersey cookie is rediculous good. Cornmeal and freeze dried blueberry is a great combo. New place...come check it out.

Grabbed a Cappuccino here. It was very good. The place is small and it has 5 chairs. My friend and I were planning on sitting down but a man who came in after us put his bag on one of the seats as were being waited on so we had to sit on the bench outside which was fine but it was cold. I loved the little design in the foam on the cappuccino. I also got a chocolate peanut butter bar that i brought home for my husband and he really liked it. All in all a nice place to stop and have a cup of coffee as you are running around in SOHO. There was too much of a line at la Coloumbe. read more

Nice food. Good service! I like coffee here. One coffee for the day, another happy day!

This is a bodega now (not a cafe) and the guy was not very helpful, didn't want to give me any information, instead tried to sell me tea. In any case, these guys are inheriting the reviews from the past business. Go if you need to buy sugary things read more

It's never overly packed in this cafe which is a plus. I hate that most coffee shops in the city are usually at capacity during odd hours of the day you would expect to get a seat to enjoy your cup of coffee and snack. I just came here to kill some time before my table at jack's wife freida was ready. Cookies were OK and the cappuccino I had was standard. read more

On its face, Iconic Cafe is an easy going independent coffee spot and a welcome change from the over-commercialization of the neighborhood. staff were fine, and they have a range of breakfast and lunch options. bonus--they have plugs for your laptop! So why 2 stars? THERE IS NO RESTROOM! This is a VERY serious problem in my mind. Coffee products are natural laxatives & diuretics. Customers will need to use the restroom. Failing to provide one, to me, is like saying a big "Eff you" to the customers. And in the same breath, to provide laptop outlets...as if encouraging people to have a seat and work for several hours...until of course, you have to answer nature's call. And no, I don't have some weird medical problem that makes me pee every 20 minutes. I just think this a basic service that you should be able to count on when you go some place that serves food and drink. But here's the thing: there IS a restroom. Because legally, there has to be one for staff. So why not make it open to customers? I realize there may be health code issues but there are always ways to address this, even if it means building a relationship with a neighboring business who will let you use the rest room. If you are just looking to take-out, it's perfectly fine, but if you plan to sit for any period of time and anticipate that you might maybe possibly need to pee at some point, because you know, you have a digestive system.....then just go to Starbucks. read more

3 stars for the coffee but the oatmeal cookie was very dry and I could feel sugar in my hands.

Bah! I want to like this place so much! After the D&D deli closed on the other corner, there really is no affordable coffee/breakfast sandwich option other than Iconic in this neighborhood. The coffee is good, but over the past week have had two incidents: one where they totally just forgot my order until someone realized i was still waiting, and then gave me the wrong cream cheese on my bagel, undiscovered until I got to work. It's not like either time was exceedingly crowded, I feel like the staff just doesn't care. What a disappointment. I don't think I'll be going back any time soon. read more

11/22/14, around 4:45PM: Poor Customer Service This cafe usually has good service. Its coffee and snacks are usually outstanding as well. Today, I ordered 2 large drip coffees. Usually, in any coffee shop, the cashier would prepare this type of order while I complete the transaction. The cafe uses a tablet to process their transactions so there are a few requests to complete. In this case, the cashier was dwindling with her fingers while I was completing the transaction. She didn't ask her co-workers to help her pour the cups. She just waited until I was finished and took the next customer's order. I stepped aside and waited by the counter. About a minute passed, she continued to take about 2 more customers and I still did not received my order. Eventually, she went to the kitchen/back room and I just bluntly asked another employee for my 2 drip coffees. He poured them without any hesitation. She didn't know whom the coffee was for so she inputted in the tablet. "2 Large coffees?" She said. I told her that I paid already. "Oh, you did?" she seemed aghast and surprised about that. I was livid by that point. It was literally less than 2 minutes since I ordered. How could you forget? No one after me had that order. I was waiting at the counter the whole time in your field of vision. The coffee cups were filled to the top and I went to pour some out in the trash bin (Starbucks ruined me in that aspect). As she sped from behind the counter to right next to me, she yelled with hostility and truculence, "Excuse me ma'am, please do not to pour the coffee in the trash bin. We have a sink over there." She had the audacity to leave her workstation to yell at me but not to pour me 2 cups of coffee. That caught almost everybody's curiosity. I apologized as I admit that I truly did not know. I left thinking about what happened. Ordered 2 large coffees that took too long to get then get yelled at by cashier. read more

I think this place is just fine, nothing special, but what really bothers me is how much of a rip off it is. I ordered a latte with soy milk and it cost me $5.85! Never again! I absolutely love this place, to the good coffee they provide and the excellence costumer service i receive, this particular morning tho was not, im used to coming in the afternoon because of the way the employee treats me, but this particular day i decided to come before work, the girl "barista" was extremely rude, she put aside my attention before hers, i even notice her, what it seem to me like flirting with coworkers and completely ignoring my request, this is very unprofessional and rude, i will never come back here again in the morning. read more

A little overpriced for the quality. Iced Coffee was good, but Muffin was hard. I'm a tough sell on cafes because there is so much competition in NYC. Maybe if I am in SoHo but I wouldn't make a special trip. read more

Good quality of coffee. Had the cafe mocha hot and it was delicious! So happy I didn't give in to the Starbucks around the corner.:)

They forgot to make my order and it wasn't even rush hour. Run-of-the-mill cafe in a neighborhood saturated with much better ones.
