OK so I admit that I was very skeptical about trying this place at first based on the reviews that I have read. I have a standard poodle and I am VERY particular about how my dog is taken care of when I'm not around, I mean she is my world. I decided to give SKPS a try. The very first visit was ok besides one small detail with was a result of miscommunication. I also thought that the staff could've been a little more friendly and upbeat. Other than that, she looked good. She seemed normal and didn't act like she was harmed or anything. Since then, I have returned every 4-6 weeks with Bonnie's instruction! Bonnie team been doing a great grooming job with my yorkie coco for the past 9 years I would recommend them as your groomer.

I have been going to this salon for years and have had some problems but ignored them because they always had excuses and I would just wait a couple of weeks until some hair grew back. But today tipped me over the edge. I asked for a Teddy Bear cut/round head for my Yorkie and instead they made him look like a chihuahua. I showed pictures before hand etc. but they kept on and on with excuses like "Well your dog has different kind of hair then the dog in the pictures you showed us." If that were the case then why did you agree to do the cut if you knew the hair was a different kind. This place has gone down hill and I we will not bring our dogs back ....ever! BEWARE! read more

They charged me almost 100$ to just shave my cat. I asked them the day before the appointment what all does the charge cover and they replied a full groom including a bath. Told me my cat had claws and that's why they didn't bath him but still charged me full price. I will never go back it's a rip off better off taking your cat to petco they will just shave for 40$ and not keep your cat for 6 hours. It's just funny they want to say something after the fact they swipe your card. I just saw this post about a yorkie that the owner name of Sandy didn't get what she asked for, and I am APPALLED by the review she gave these wonderful groomers. I have been going there for 6 years with my retired show yorkie that has a thick coat of fur unlike the picture that has been uploaded of Jelly Bean and the thicker yorkie in the referred picture. My Yorkie loves going to Spring Klein Pet salon, the employees and owner love her and she gives them kisses all the time. The owner of Jelly Bean must not have eduated herself about yorkies and the different types of fur that they have. She could have possibly gotten her dog from a back yard breeder or a pet shop that gets their dogs from puppy mills. All I have to say is I love Spring Klein Pet Salon and I will stand by them and not take Diamond anywhere else because they treat her like she is their own. read more

This was my third time using this company to groom my Australian Labradoodle. We had discussed before drop off what length he should be trimmed to. When I picked him up, they didn't say anything about any issues, or to expect anything different than we discussed instead, I had to discover for myself that they had practically shaved him. When I spoke to the owner, she acknowledged that his coat was much shorter than I expected. She said that he had some mats on his chest and so they made a decision to shave him. My frustration is that there was no communication about this. I received no phone call and they did not indicate there was an issue even when I picked him up. Instead, she responded with somewhat condescending and superior comments, such as " if you brush them and then comb them, you'll find the mats, but if you never comb them, you'll never find the mats." She also asked if he had been swimming recently and said "oh, we could tell." None of these comments were helpful or appreciated. read more

I drive over an hour from Missouri City to this groomer. They created a signature hair cut for my Yorkies of Houston pups. The owner's son is great with customers and very accommodating. My two very spoiled Yorkies, Bentley and Bella, have had bad experiences with having their nails trimmed at our Vet's office to the point that they won't let me touch their paws. I have gotten squeamish whenever I take them for nail trims, fearing that they will be hurt. The first time I brought them to Spring Klein Pet Salon, I could tell they are very experienced groomers. They trimmed their nails in minutes, while I waited, without an issue. I buy "Taste of the Wild" dry food from them, it is a high quality dog food that is hard to find. They are the best kept secret in the area and do really nice work, as well as being gentle. They groom all breeds of dogs and even cats. I've had them trim their nails each month now and wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

My parents home was flooded and their little poodle mix needed grooming and their regular location was flooded as well. She took him to get groomed here and upon arriving early as they were still working on him (and they hadn't noticed we arrived), they proceed to call our smart little poodle mix "an idiot" and hold him with more force than was needed to finish grooming! They were quiet and finished once they realized someone was there but will not return ever again! My mother was upset when we recommended she never take him back there and why, a pet is like one's child and shouldn't be treated that way. I have been taking our dogs here for over 2 years. Our two smaller dogs are a handful and one has an artificial hip. they take great care with them. When i pick them up they are NOT upset or freaked out by their experience. Our older lab mix has cancer and needs some help getting up and cannot stand for very long. Bonnie and her staff are just wonderful with her. She waits for me in Bonnie's office because the owner feels it is more comfortable for her. The owner, Bonnie, and her wonderful staff have been grooming my dogs for years. I got her recommendation from a friend who uses her salon exclusively. I'm so proud and pleased to have their grooming services so readily available to our community. They are an asset!!! I am shocked that any person (Sandy) would have the nerve to dictate exactly what they want a groomer to do and then complain about the results. If you are not pleased with their services go somewhere else. The choice is yours. If you have not been happy with a dog's haircut, then I suspect that's not all you are unhappy with. Plus, people should treat their dogs for fleas and bathe them frequently. You cannot take in a stray and expect it to turn into a show dog. We will always use their services and support their business. We have 1 Pomeranian, 1 Yorkie and 1 Shitzu. We are always pleased with our results at their establishment. read more

I had been taking my Stewie to another groomer for over 2 1/2 years. I realize Stewie is a handful but, I was in SHOCK when after I had dropped him off in the morning, I got a call after lunch telling me to pick him up that they could no longer groom him unless he was sedated. I was devastated. So, I went on a hunt to interview groomers. I came across Spring Klein Pet Salon. From the minute I walked in, I knew this was my new home. Bonnie made me feel so comfortable. I made an appointment right away and brought Stewie in a couple days later. I was so surprised. Stewie walked right in to Bonnie like he knew her. I felt so awesome. I brought his special shampoo which they used on him. When I picked Stewie up he looked amazing. I was more than pleased. Stewie seemed happy. I am looking forward to a long relationship with Bonnie. PLEASE KEEP YOUR BELOVED FOUR LEGGED ONES FAAAAAAR AWAY!!! I recently had my dogs cut here and it was honestly the worse experience i have ever had at any business! Upon drop off, my wife and I made it very clear that we needed our dogs done by a certain hour if they could not get done by that time that we would have to come back another day due to a previous engagement. We were assured by the owners husband that they would make that happen. So when we called at that time they were supposed to be done and were told that our dogs still had an hour to go, I calmly, yet sternly explained that this was unacceptable and that we had another engagement and we needed them to please hurry up. Upon arriving at the store to pick the dogs up, I was greeted by the owner who preceded to SCREAM AT ME and eventually THREATEN ME. The owner screamed at me because she was having such a "rough" day and I guess she felt disrespected since I asked her to please hurry the process up. After being yelled at I was just ready to go and I told her I would just take my half done dogs, she told me that was fine but that I had to pay full price. Knowing that ultimately I had no power and now sensing that I was dealing with some one who was off their rocker and completely irrational, I calmly tried to plead with her to do what was right since this was their error. She continued to yell at me that "she didn't care" and if I wanted my dogs back I had to pay full price, she then stormed away and shouted " If you even think about coming back here to get them I WILL GET MY GUN and SHOOT YOU!" I then begin to speak with the owners husband, and asked him to come up and just check me out, he and another women came forward and quietly appologized but said that she was the boss and that I still had to pay full price. Even though they knew they were in the wrong, and he specifically knew he was wrong since he was the one who guaranteed me the dogs would be done. I then decided at that point it was just best to pay full price for my half done dogs in order to get them safely out of the hands of the people at this nut house!!! I do not wish for anyone else to have to experience this, please do yourself and your dogs a favor and stay as far away from this place as possible. There are too many other options to risk dealing with this and putting your dogs in these peoples hands! read more

I am retracting a review I gave the other day. I was upset about my dogs and worried about them, because they are part of my family and important to me. The owner of the salon called me the following morning and worked with me so I could pick up my dogs. She was very nice about it and they took good care of my dogs. My dogs have always looked great when they are groomed there and they are always happy. The owner and I both said some things in anger and we both apologize for them. She is a nice person, and her salon is always friendly and clean. I have never had an issue before and I'm pleased that we could clear things up. She deserves 4 stars. I can relate to the experience of V.H. I had been taking my dogs to Spring Klein Pet Salon for at least a year now. I had been so happy with their service that I happily referred numerous new clients to this facility. But just as I shared my good experience with these clients, I also shared my last experience with them and anyone else that will listen at the dogpark, doggy daycare and anyone else. I called last week to see if I could get my 2 dogs groomed on Saturday but I was told that they could not guarantee a time for them to be completed because they were very busy on this particular day. So I simply asked when would be a better time to get them in first thing in the morning and to have them back at a particular time. The gentleman told me that Monday would be best. I did not have a problem with any of that because my previous experiences with this place is that they were willing to be accommodating to the best of their ability. Monday morning I arrive at 8:10am (they open at 8), I ask if they can be done by noon but I was informed by the owner that she could not do that because she was working alone and had 2 dogs ahead of my 2 - ok fair enough. I appreciated her explaining to me that she was working alone and how she could not guarantee a 12pm pick up. I expressed that I was confused as to why the gentleman with whom I made the appointment said that Monday would be best - but what can you do at that point, really? So I said I'd try to make it back the following day because there would be more help to get the dogs done by a certain time. However this was not my biggest issue, it was just an inconvenience. My real issue is that she and I went over the normally requested cut on the dogs and she made notes on her card, but when I requested to keep the female's lashes, she responded with "if I can remember...." I was taken aback by that remark because I am a paying customer. I am not asking for a favor. For the service for which I pay, I requested to keep the lashes on one dog. Later that afternoon, I discussed this conversation with the folks I referred to this place of business and others at the local dogpark and they agreed that the remark was inappropriate in a customer service industry. So this morning, I called to speak with the same lady that I spoke with yesterday. I explained the problem that I had with our conversation and she went on to blame it on her age (which is not my problem) and a previous issue she had with forgetting a request of a recent client (which is also not my problem). My only concern was the only reason that I was going to this grooming facility - my dogs. She blamed me for losing money on 2 days that she was going to groom my dogs, but that is not all that is lost. Also gone are the clients that I had referred, any future referrals and respect for this business owner. In her irrational state, she shouted at me to wish me luck with another groomer. Shouting and rude behavior in this industry will certainly make you want to run to different service provider. So take your chances with her if you like. I do not recommend them. I just had the worst experience at Spring Klein Pet Salon! The groomer was upset because my dog kept moving while they were trying to grind his nails. She kept calling him an idiot knowing that I was sitting outside in the waiting area! After the gentleman at the counter told her I was outside waiting on my dog, she yelled: "I don't care". My dog started crying and I finally stood up to see what they were doing to him. At this point they were done, one of them told me my dog did not do good and I said that maybe if he was treated a bit better he would have been more comfortable and not been scared! He said dogs don't understand English so that he didn't know what was said to him! I DO NOT CARE!! I understand what was said and how he was treated! I started going there because it is a family owned business and closer to home so I figure I should give them a try... Big mistake! It is more expensive than Petco and their customer service sucks! I don't want to imagine how they treat pets that are actually left there for service!!!! read more
