This store has gotten so nasty. The smell as soon as you walk in should have made me turn around, it was putrid. But I was desperate for an emerald green Cory which they did have. They seem in fine health but the Otto catfish I got is missing an eye I didn't notice it until I got home, I could probably return him but at this point I feel bad for him. The other fish tanks were nasty dirty and lots of dead fish. The poor bettas looked near death too. I need to not shop here again. read more

I won't leave a long winded review because I have already talked to management. We are done taking our dog to the groomers here. Today she was unevenly shaved and one of her nails was completely broken off. Can't tell if it's a groomer issue or kennel issue because of the attitude from the groomers and complete unwillingness to take any responsibility for their jobs. My wife who stayed in the store because they told us we had to do the express groom, said the groomers were being loud and cursing in the store while with dogs. If you're loud enough people in the store can hear you, maybe you're being too loud. Also witnessed one of the groomers (red head) talking to another employee and playing around with a ferret, while a dog was just sitting there waiting to be groomed. We love Pet Supplies Plus for their products but we will never go back after dropping our dog off to get groomed for the second time. I will preface this review by saying that our dog is very anxious and is not the easiest dog to work with in that she will pull her paws away or try to move away from what you are doing. She has never bitten anyone in fear or anger. She's a very good dog despite being a bit nervous. We dropped her off on Saturday for a bath, nail trim, teeth brush, etc. When we picked her up, the girl that brought her out said, "she didn't like the blow dryer on her face, so she might be a bit damp'". That's it. We didn't notice until we got her home that both of her eyes were bloody, she had a huge bruise between her eyes, and a cut on her nose. She was clearly shaken and ducked away from our hands when we bent down to pet her. We have no clue what happened. We suspect she may have been fighting to get away from something she didn't like and choked. But regardless of what happened, it was happening long enough and was severe enough to bust the blood vessels in both of her eyes and SOMEONE should have noticed and/or told us something. This was the result of either negligence or abuse and I caution anyone who values their pet's health against bringing your dog here and trusting them with your best friend. Our puppy has been to vets and groomers dozens of times and has never, EVER come back to us with so much as a scratch. read more

I bounce from a couple of these locations and I must say 242 has been the best so far. this location needs a face lift. I'm not sure why the company hasn't put the investment in all store locations. each time I have came to this particular location they never have any towels for dog grooming which a free wash is nice but i would rather pay and get the essentials out of the wash. the dog grooming area is VERY run down compared to other locations. the stuff barely works , highly recommend the company takes the time to make the quality of this location more adequat. read more

Actually I have real life video evidence of her hitting my dog multiple times. Also your employees stating in my video they see her getting hit as well. And don't speak on what you don't know because I had the constable come to my house with 2 witnesses saying it's hard to pursue cases like this and it would be best to let it go. Also he told me he has been there for multiple incidents. It sucks, but that's the way it is. On top of that the vet stated it looked like abuse and they could tell she was scared. And with the 60+ comments on my other social media about many people stating they have known someone or had similar incidents occur at your location and that they refuse to go back ever. We have been coming here for years but recently the selection of food is horrible. They literally NEVER have our dog's food in stock. I ask the employees when the shipment comes so we can shop that day. They don't even give us an exact day as to when it comes. It is so frustrating that they never have what we need in stock. This is the only store in our area that carries our dog's food. This is forcing us to look into switching the food they eat and shopping at a new store. read more

I would not recommend taking your babies to get groomed here. My husband and I were there picking up supplies for our 2 puppies, and the woman who was grooming a dog was, to say the least, being terrible with the poor dog. Yes, the dog was vocal but that's what dogs do. She kept telling to shut up and using force on him. In my opinion, if you get easily flustered that you're verbally abusing an animal, you should probably change your profession. I would never take my babies to get groomed here. This is however the only place that Carrie's the brand food we feed them, so unfortunately we have to continue to shop here. Every time I decide to give this place another chance, I immediately have to leave because I am disgusted with the horrid conditions they keep their small animals in. The cages are so tiny they can't move, The plastic hideouts are torn apart because there is nothing else for them to do but eat plastic, the wheels are so small they're unusable. Then the cages themselves are filthy, how hard is it for employees to do a daily or even weekly cleaning? Even if I did want to buy something, they barely carry the necessities for smaller animals and only sell the tiniest of habitats/toys. read more

I previously posted a review about this place because of the groomers. I bring my two shih tzu's in for grooming. They neglected to tell me that they were not cutting one of my dogs nails because it was too difficult and it got SOO long and curled that it was pushing on the pad of her foot. I just assumed it was being done. She's so fluffy, it's hard to see. I fixed it myself... they could have made it happen if they wanted to! My male dogs ear was cut and scabbed from them and they didn't even tell me!! And now, the final straw! Today 1/15/21, I went in to buy my dog food. I was in a rewards program for Fromm dog food where if you buy 10 bags you get one free and I knew I was getting close. They got rid of the freaking program so all of my points are just gone!!! They didn't transfer or anything. Over a year and a half of purchasing and thinking about getting a free bag. I'm very upset and I will NO LONGER support this store! Recently dropped my 2 Yorkies off for a grooming. Took almost 4 hours and they can back just shaved and hardly trimmed. Cut is the worst I've ever seen. Can't explain it, almost like the Head was completely forgotten. Also I said guard size and trim cut I wanted. They didn't seemed thrilled. Wasn't a fan or not being able to see her being cut with back right station slight obscured. So couldn't really interject. W/e she boasted 30years exp. anyways only shop open for grooming they had a chance to rack allot of business. They did a terrible cut on Pomeranian , Astro. The owner Ivan had go drive an hour to me to fix the groom and nails were not touched, no clean feet either. DO NOT BUY REPTILES HERE AND DO NOT BRING YOUR PET TO BE GROOMED! This store has some incredible staff BUT let me say the reptiles are labeled wrong. There is no such thing as a "fancy" bearded dragon. You have a normal bearded dragon labeled as a red I will gladly show you what a red is. You have a false chameleon currently in a tank that is skin and bones & literally barely moving. You use RED lights for heat when you could simply use the proper basking bulb and proper UVB. You have multiple dragons of different sizes in the bacteria filled small tanks. Your staff is not knowledgeable on reptiles at all, one young man told me " the tail got bit off by another larger dragon but he is currently growing his tail back " that is comical bc BEARDED DRAGONS TAILS DONT GROW BACK! I will be HAPPY to educate your staff on reptiles, they need to stop suggesting colored lights, stop suggesting coil UVB, stop suggesting large water bowls, stop suggesting freeze dried food. The list goes on and the opportunity for proper education on reptiles is so badly needed. Now that I've gotten that off my chest bc your irresponsibility with reptiles drives me insane. Let me also inform EVERYONE to NEVER take your pet here to be groomed. There is a woman with black hair, short, fluffy and has THE WORST ATTITUDE TOWARDS ANIMALS. She has been photographed mistreating a small dark grey dog with grey on its face. She was twisting the dogs legs, using excess force and causing the dog to yelp multiple times. She is the cause for a dachshund almost losing his life bc she has restraints so tight around his body. This animal was dropped off healthy and happy and picked up on the brink of death. Tied up and the POS groomer wasn't even by the table. THE STORE REFUSES TO HELP THE OWNERS of this dog bc they want them to " release liability " it is obvious this store cares more about $$ than the actual care and health of the animals that come in there. WITHOUT OWNERS MONEY A GROOMER CANT STAY IN BUSINESS and everyone will continue to let it be known that the store owner is a POS who doesn't care about animals, doesn't properly house animals in the tanks and lets their POS groomer mistreat animals, and doesn't educate staff on proper care for the animals they sell. The owner of this store is the same one who owns the horrible PSP in magnolia. This owner doesn't care about anyone but themselves. They will continue to mistreat animals and sell sick reptiles. The staff is very friendly and helpful in the store. DO NOT bring your pet to the groomer however. They did a very bad job on the cut for my maltipoo twice now. Last Time I took her, she couldn't open her eye for 2 days. I tried to give another chance. They shaved her completely stating they couldn't brush matts. It's uneven and several weird patches are sticking out. Also she has never had an ear infection and I checked before sending her, however both her ears were completely infected and have several wounds around the ear canal and large wounds on the end of both her ears as if they either cut the ends with scissors or their equipment tore her skin up. They did not notify us of any of this and now we will have to pay a hefty vet bill to get her on antibiotics and wound care as well as fix her haircut ourselves. We learned our lesson-- no third chance here. read more

They are super friendly and knowledgeable. The lady at the register had been there forever. That says a lot to me about turnover and how the owners must keep the employees happy as well. This is a great pet supplies store. We have been very happy with how friendly and helpful the entire staff is. We recently adopted our 2nd leopard gecko from them and were able to get setup with everything we needed. Plus they always have a good supply of crickets unlike other pet stores. read more

They have garden hoses, attachments come off mid wash, it's disgustingly filled with tons of dog hair and the filter above the dog wash drops hair on you as you wash- all for a price of $10 a wash. read more

I took my dogs here to use the self service bath, aside from the fact that there was hardly any shampoo to bathe two larger dogs, one of my dogs now has a rash and scabs from what I can attribute to expired or improperly stored shampoo. I am a dog groomer who has a lot of experience with shampoo and how it should be stored. The service area was definitely not sanitary however I was desperate due to being on maternity leave and it being difficult to bathe them at home. Please do not go here to get dog groomed. I also had horrible experience. I dropped my dog off around 12:30pm for his 1 pm appointment because they told me on the phone that they were able to take him early. 2 hrs went by and I still haven't heard any update about my pet and i was worried. So I called the store. They told me that they were working on another dog still and that it was gonna take a couple hours. I thought this was crazy considering they said they were free and typically didn't take longer than two hours here or any other grooming place. I waited a total of five hours for my dog to finally be done with his groom. When I came back I noticed he had a big gash under his armpit. And another nick under the other one. That was no scab but a laceration to be medically correct. I inspect my dog every day because when he itches to check for fleas. This gash was so big it was almost 2 inches wide and an inch long. It looked like they had done something to stop a bleed because it was so scabbed over and thick. When I got there to pick up my dog all his hair was trimmed down to the skin, he was shivering, and they notified me of a scab under his armpit. lol "Bobby" tried to say that they think it came from him scratching himself due to a flea. I immediately knew that was not true because of how many time i lift, brush, and inspect my dog for dirt or anything on the daily. I've had my dog for a year now and I pick up on his mannerisms. I have never seen my dog reach that part of his body under his armpit to scratch ever. I even tried to see if his arm could even reach there and it was physically impossible. Waited five hours, spent $70, and received a hairless and injured pet in return. Please do not bring your dog/pet here to be groomed if you care for their well-being and if you hope to spend another day with him. read more

This location is very poorly run. The staff are not adequately educated on the animals and marine life they're selling. We had to start over an entire 40 gallon aquarium because of being misinformed. They offered to replace some of the fish not aware they were already sick. The managers are knowingly selling fish with ich to customers. When I brought up what happened I was made to feel as though I don't know what I am doing. Don't buy fish here! The store manager did not care about what happened either. Ok well they have just about everything that you'll ever need if you have a dog. At better prices sometimes, the staff is a lot more involved with the customers than Petco or PetSmart ever bother to be. So you get a more personal experience. They carry every holistic food you can think of. I even get my raw bones from there. I am very satisfied with just going to get my ordinary dog food and treats from there. But if I have a question about the products, I may or may not get a person who has adequate knowledge of the product I'm inquiring about. I have better luck just using Google. Brought my dog in today for a nail clipping, I said he's very hard to clip. I showed them his rabies paper (they said not needed for clippings). She had me hold him to the point of my arms being covered with cuts. I left and paid asked petco and other pet stores if it's correct to not put them up on a grooming board and they all said they would never allow an owner to hold the dog. What won me over with PSP is the friendliness of the staff and how they seem to genuinely care. My dog had cancer last year and I was having to come in quite frequently for various products. Some of the staff got to know me and my dog and would always ask for updates on his treatment. After he healed from having his leg amputated, I was able to bring him in and he just ate up all the attention they gave him. I brought him in around once a week during his last few months and the staff always remembered us. That kind of treatment is hard to find and I'll continue to go there for my other animals and always recommend people to it. They usually have pretty good sales and will also price match with local stores and online prices. I also like that they have a program to get a free bag of food after purchasing X number of bags for certain high end foods. I buy Orijen, but I know they do it for a few other brands as well. read more
