We have been using Camp Bow Wow for a couple of months now (Katy & The Woodlands Locations). What I love about this place is the convenience. I can just show up and drop off my dog without calling lol. The check in process is super quick and simple. I am able to drop off my dog without having to rush to work. I enjoy watching the cameras throughout the day to see how much fun he is having with the other dogs. When he gets home he is super tired from all the playing. People laugh when I say I bring my dog to daycare, but hey it works for us. read more

Used Camp Bow Wow so many times for our beloved little Ricky Martin when we were travelling too far to take him with us. Very sad and we miss him terribly but these guys look after him so well plus you get the peace of mind of being able to view your little 4-legged baby playing all through the day using their webcams - good YES, expensive YES. I have been hesitant to write this review. I wrote a post on FB and hoped that may bring some sort of resolution or explanation, but instead Camp Bow Wow wrote back a generic response along the lines of "this is the risk we take with live animals" and then later deleted my post entirely. I dropped off my lab, Maddie, on Monday afternoon in preparation for a vacation planned starting Tuesday morning. I have never left her and was nervous. The front desk staff were kind and helped me drop her off while I also had a toddler running around. Tuesday afternoon I get off the plane and pull up the webcam but cannot find Maddie- I immediately freak out and ask my boyfriend to call and see if she is ok. I later hear back that Maddie is at the vet getting staples for a laceration to her side. No one knows when the cut occurred or how it occurred which makes me very concerned that the dogs aren't being watched- which meant there was no way I could send my dog back there. I also was broken hearted in another state worried how long Maddie was in pain for or not being watched. In the end I was left with a $250 vet bill and my boyfriend was unable to go out of town like he had planned since we no longer had anyone to watch our dog. Prior to my experience I had only heard positive reviews about Camp Bow Wow- now I am starting to wonder if it is because they delete negative comments like mine. read more

We had to board our maltipoo for 10 days due to vacation. I was really worried about leaving him this time because I knew that his eating habits would diminish and he would get depressed. Camp Bow Wow did everything to make sure he was looked after properly. For an added charge, they had an assistant trainer ( Taylor, who btw was fantastic with him) play with him and give him one on one attention for a certain amount of time throughout the week we were gone. She sat with him while he ate , which he did! And made the necessary adjustments to his feeding habits to ensure he indeed ate and maintained a healthy and happy stay! Her communication was phenomenal!!! I highly recommend Camp Bow Wow! The staff all make you feel like your fur baby is so very important and gets the proper care they need! I was a strong supporter of Camp Bow Wow until my recent experience with them. This experience has placed a sour taste in my mouth, and I'm torn on how much I can trust them. I have two dogs, and loved to bring them for dog day care. I thought buying the 10-day package would be a great deal. With two dogs I would have 5 days of "day care" visits (2 dogs for each day). I purchased the 10-day package on May 24, 2019. Started using the package on May 29, 2019 (Wednesday), and planned to come every Wednesday. Thus, I assume this would cover me till June 26, 2019. To my surprise when I pick up my two dogs on June 19, 2019 (Wednesday), I was told that I owed for the day care visit. I spent the next 15 mins explaining that I did not owe anything because of the package I purchased on May 29th. The young lady behind the desk looked at my account. She said my account shows a balance due, but the detailed transactions indicated I was correct. Also, I was good for another day visit. Fast forward a week, on June 26, 2019 (Wednesday), when I picked up my two dogs, I was told again I had a balance due. I was furious at this point. I asked for my account details to be printed out because we (as customers) do not have visibility to our transactions. We can't see when and what we paid for, and when our dogs utilize the facilities. This is especially important when you buy a package and depend on their system to track visits that are counted against the package. I was told they could not print it. Wow this is a first. Keep in mind I work for a technology company. Then I was offered to look at my account on the monitor. I did and reviewed every visit since I purchased the package. I found something disturbing. There was a visit record for June 4, 2019(Tuesday). Not only was this a fictitious visit recorded in the system, it shows I checked in around noon. I always drop off the dogs before 9am. Eventually it was determined that I did not have a balance due. Everyone, keep in mind this entry cannot be entered in the system by mistake, like copy and paste. It has to be filled out with all of the relevant information. Bottom line I felt like I was being taking advantage of. This would have cost me an additional $50 for the visit. I find this very unethical, and I point the blame on the owner and director of this location. This type of business practice should not exist. If I chose to go back, I will not buy a package in the future. I can't trust the system and details on it. Also, I heard stories about dogs being mis-treated. I learned by dogs did not eat anything during the day on June 26, 2019. When I drop off my dogs, I provide meals (4 bags of dry food, I can of wet food, and snacks). Only the snack was given. The can was not open. They love the wet food. Thus, I have to believe no one gave the food to them at all. I don't know how workers can't follow directions. It is not that difficult. I'm assuming some are just too lazy and don't care. Bottom line I haven't been back since. I'm still fuming on what I saw. read more

We scheduled boarding for our 2 dogs over the Labor Day weekend. We were told that they would require vaccines for canine influenza, which they were 1 and 2 months overdue for (not a normally required vaccine). We called around to several mobile vets as well as our own vet clinic who told us that the vaccine has been on backorder nationally for MONTHS. I am not about to pay for exams and shots for 2 dogs at a different clinic just to get these shots. I called to cancel 4 days in advance since I found another boarding option for the dogs that DO NOT require the flu shots (BTW, there is not a current outbreak of canine influenza!) and they refuse to refund my $50 deposit. Over a holiday weekend, I'm sure they will have other boarders take those spots and they will profit from me for doing nothing, not even offering a future credit for boarding, day care or supplies/services. I'll take my business elsewhere. I don't know why anyone would want to board there with those rules. Camp Bow Wow Humble was the best. It was my first time there--for the 4 hour "trial period"--and the young girl at the front desk was not friendly at all and didn't seem the least bit interested in helping me or caring about my dog Sarah. In addition, no manager came out to talk to me and ask questions about Sarah, and tell me what to expect there. When I returned, I asked her how my dog did and she said in a bored voice "Fine I guess. I didn't hear any complaints". Then she gives me a tour (which I didn't get a chance to do when I dropped her off), and all I see are cages after cages and she tells me the dogs are in there for 2 hours at each meal--that is ridiculous!!!!! Then she wouldn't let me see the grassy area out back where they play. It is located in an industrial park, so that should have told me something... I would never use this place again and would never recommend it. read more

He had just been to the Vet and tested negative for any parasites, heart worms, etc. Had his Bi Annual immunizations and checkup, clean bill of health. We live alone he is never around other dogs or kenneled He was panting hard when I picked him up and came home and drank a lot of water. About 4 hours later he started vomiting clear mucus and had.bloody bright yellow diarrhea 7 days. The Vet saved his life, he said never ever take your dog to a place like this. Shot records mean nothing if another dog has this parasite which is mostly transferred by water and shared water bowls. They refuse to refund the money I paid for 8 days special, which I will never use, that is stealing. Not to mention the vet Bill's. I cannot even get a return phone call from anyone in charge. Camp Bow Wow obedience classes are worth the time and effort. Whether your pooch is an Einstein or a Gomer Pyle. The classes are small and of short duration so the dogs learn the behavior you wish. I will never take my dog here again. I recommend you don't either. I was willing to let this go but now they have pissed me off. First, my dog absolutely hated it there. Watching her on the video, she was pacing and nervous from the amount of dogs in the play area and the limited space. It was heartbreaking. There is a crowded room with no toys and only 1 person per what seemed like 20+ big dogs. The outside area is sad, small, and blocked off with no real grass. Second, I purchased a bath while she was there all day.. Tell me why she came home damp if they had all day to bathe her. A close friend of mine states Camp Bow Wow told her that her dog needs a sedative because she has been in a few scuffles with other dogs there. My friend was absolutely horrified to barely be hearing about this after it happened a few time. Why kind of Pet care facility does this? Terrible! This place is definitely a no go and being someone who has been in the animal care industry for over 10 years, they do not have your pets best interest at heart and their customer service is absolutely atrocious. Seems they are more interested in nickel-and-diming there customers rather than providing great customer service and having them come back. There are too many great places in the surrounding area to settle for this warehouse looking sub-par customer service facility. You should get what you pay for and this place is definitely over priced for what they have to offer. ------------- Thanks for your response with trying to clear things up however it is still a little ridiculous. They are really organized and very friendly! Oliver loved coming here for his initial visit and wanted to come back right away! It's hard to leave your "family" if you don't have peace of mind about whether they are being taken care of appropriately, but I was completely put at ease. The webcam and verbal instructions that they showed me when we first arrived, let me know that they are professional and love what they do! My dog came here for an "interview" about 2 weeks ago and did not do well with the high number of dogs they have in one area. She has never been around a large group of dogs before an I expected that she may have an issue which I expressed to the staff, but hey you never know until you try right? I was told after maybe 10 minutes that's she was just "too anxious" and that keeping her there for a week was not going to happen. OK no harm done I thanked the staff which was very sweet and brought my baby home to rest after all the excitement. 2 weeks later she is coughing and I'm no vet but I'm 98% sure its kennel cough. Before I start let me tell you that she is completely up too date on all shots and vaccines but from what I've been told by my vet they still have a small chance at getting kennel cough. This dog lives in a one dog home and do to her anxiety she is not around other dogs very often. Within the last too weeks I have been very busy and have not taken her anywhere in which she could have caught this cough, other then camp bow wow. So thanks for the vet bill Camp bow wow I will not be bring her back (you wouldnt take het anyway) or any dog I may own in the future and you better believe I will be warning others. 10 minutes is all it takes when you don't screen your dogs well enough. read more

I like Camp Bow Wow and I don't plan to cut them off, but this facility is a bit overrated. We had been faithfully going to Camp Run a Mutt by the galleria until my boyfriend and I moved to Spring. The facility is very nice, cute decor. We dropped off our dog for interview day and we were told that one of the shots needed to be re-done because they require a 6 month dose. That's great, I just wish I would've been told that on the phone. I knew we had all of our shots up to date. It kind of perturbed me that they did not want to set up the interview day the same day, even though I drove all the way to my dog's vet to get the proper dosage, per their request. I didn't back down and I made sure she was interviewed the same day. The woman was not very friendly when I was so persistent. That irked me. We have actually had to call because we watched dogs get sprayed with a water bottle and dogs get pulled by their collars. The collar pull is a huge no no at our home. We don't do it and we don't want the "counselors" doing it. When we called, they apologized and I saw an immediate change in behavior by the staff. I appreciated that. At the end of the day we requested a tour. They obliged, not very excitedly. The area seemed clean, it just didn't smell clean - for obvious reasons. I don't like that there is no water for the dogs to play in and I really don't like that most of the day care is done in doors. I also am not happy that my dog was caged up from 7-8:30 AM because the camp does not ACTUALLY begin until 8:30. We will use bow wow infrequently as it does the job we need done. We prefer run a mutt down by the galleria because of the outdoor play area, no kennels (even over night), and clean facility. I was also told that bow wow had a referall program - no one has called my friend that referred me. I really want to like this place, but I don't see it happening. read more

I wasn't at all impressed with the dog obedience training at this facility. I was misled from the beginning regarding how the training would be implemented. The trainer had no contact with the dogs and do nothing but talk about her dogs and how she trained them. Basically it consisted of her training the trainer. Why anyone brought their dogs was a complete mystery, because all the trainer did was chain them to a bolt in the wall by the owner. Totally NOT worth $150.00! I highly discourage entertaining this place for dog obedience. read more

We boarded our new rescue puppy with camp bow wow and the service we received was above and beyond!! Our dog had "boarding sickness" which is where they get stressed being away from their normal family and home to the point where they get physically sick, but the workers at camp bow wow went above and beyond to make her comfortable, including taking her on tons of walks and giving her a bath and medicine to help her stomach, and when we picked her up the manager came out and explained how common it is and exactly what we needed to do to make our puppy more comfortable next time boarding and to help her stomach get back to normal now (including giving us special food and medicine for her) and their kindness and care for our dog when she was sick is very appreciated!!! read more

Brought my German Sheppard pup here yesterday and we both loved it. He is 18 weeks and has not been socialized a whole lot with other dogs. Scheduled an interview (this is required before your pup can attend) & everything went great. This is a very clean facility, with GREAT customer service & well trained staff. My mind is a drawing a blank to the name of our interviewers name but she approached our pup from the side, offered her hand for a sniff & let him decide when he was ready to go with her. We were able to watch his interactions with the other dogs from the live feed. She brought in one dog at a time to introduce him to them & It went smoothly. Because It was interview day, It was also free for puppy play time for the remainder of the day and we were able to check on him through the app that allows you to watch the live feeds. The prices are fair compared to other dog cares/doggy play time/boarding areas. We will definitely be back this week! :) read more

Denied us full day care because they don't do day care on sundays & my fur baby had a cut with no report or call to let me know on the previous time I dropped them off. I was there Wednesday for full day care and scheduled them with the receptionist and she said just drop them off between 7am-10AM and pick up is 4pm-7pm and scheduled a bath. We had plans and will be out all day since it's Father's Day. We get there and a different receptionist said they only do boarding no day care on sundays and supposedly no manager available to contact because they are in surgery and there is no POC. I know she's just doing her job but she said the one that told me they do day care on sundays is new. That is not my problem that's theirs. They should fully train their staff before giving wrong information and ruining my plans. If not then say you don't know and confirm with someone! Will not be returning to this location. Also on Wednesday my dog had a cut on her back and I got no report of what happened. The other camp bow wow in San Antonio, TX always explains any injuries or cuts they may have. Clearly this location is understaffed or not trained well. Thank god this isn't my main camp bow wow, just in town for a few days. read more

We have loved Camp Bow Wow for years (and have used several of their locations in various cities) but today they out did themselves. In a miscommunication we thought the dogs were up to date on shots but found out they weren't when we tried to drop them off. Camp Bow Wow found a local vet for us to take the dogs to and they will pick them up so we can get to the airport on time. AWESOME! I love that daycare is included in the boarding fees, they let our 2 dogs stay in the same kennel but feed them separately and you can watch your dog on the app. read more

I was referred here and was excited to bring my five-month-old puppy somewhere with such great accolades; however, I am appalled and very disappointed with my experience. When I walked in, I was expecting to be greeted by friendly receptionists; this wasn't the case. Nobody I interacted with introduced themselves. The receptionist gave me the application. She then took my dog and didn't tell me anything - where she was taking him, what they were going to do, etc. I understand the separation between dog and owner should be swift, but I would have liked to at least known what was going on. I assumed that someone would talk to me about the puppy to get to know him. On the website, I read that new dogs would be gradually introduced to the group. Less than ten minutes after taking my puppy, I looked at the television and saw that he was already in a room with 14+ dogs. I made it abundantly clear in my initial contact with Camp Bow Wow that he has never played with other dogs. Now, less than ten minutes later he's in a large group of other dogs.  I stayed in the lobby until he got acclimated and someone came out and told me he was fine and that I could leave. I checked in on the cameras throughout the day, I noticed that there would be times when no one was with the dogs. And when there was someone there, they were sitting down or standing talking to other counselors. They never played with the dogs. Further, they sprayed dogs with water anytime they acted up. No one informed me this was how they reprimanded the dogs. I am sternly against using this tactic with my puppy; it is not a useful form of reinforcement and doesn't teach the dogs the appropriate, expected behavior.  The last straw was watching other dogs circle my puppy and gang up on him. I understand how dogs play but I was able to see through their body language that my puppy was being threatened. I then saw two dogs humping my dog - multiple times. No one stepped in to stop this. They just let it happen.  Finally, I did not see any water available for the dogs (though I'm sure someone will assert that the water dishes are off to the side of the camera's view.) I will never bring my dog back, nor will I recommend Camp Bow Wow to friends or family. It is not a warm environment, nor is it safe for my dog. read more

Bad customer service and front in the past 2years although we like the place for boarding.

This is Bailey's home away from home. She loves it here and always has a blast, so much so she's there 3 days a week. We love it because the staff is not only attentive to the dogs but also treat them as if they were their own. Everyone is nice, friendly , and very accommodating to your needs. You also have the added benefit of being able to watch your dog on webcam while you're away! They also groom/bathe and trim your dogs nails and then you're dog can play after its done. I can also pick up food for her while I'm there, which for this working mom of a toddler is a big bonus. I can't imagine life without Camp Bow Wow , luckily ill never have to! read more

My corgi LOVES Camp Bow Wow and so do I! I've taken my puppy here several times a week for the past 5 months and I've had nothing short of a great experience. The facilities are clean and open and the counselors really care about the animals. My dog is very playful so they are always making sure he's hanging out with the right group of dogs by switching him between the small dog room and the medium dog room as needed. My dog always has a great time and is asleep 5 minutes after we get in the car to go home. There was also a day where he wasn't feeling well at all and they took good care of him and put him in a kennel to rest since he wasn't up to playing like usual. Pick up and drop off is fast and the staff is always very nice. I love the cameras because it shows they have nothing to hide and can be accountable for taking good care of your pet. We have been to many other daycares and this is by far the best one yet! I live in Cypress and work in the Woodlands but if I ever go out of town, I will go out of my way to take my dog here for boarding! I can't recommend this place enough! read more

this place is awesome, they truly care for your dog here. they have lots of dogs stay here daily and overnight, all shapes and sizes. they keep all dogs separated according to size. our dog passed her "interview", to make sure she is compatible with others, (super stressful for us parents) and she's stayed here for a few play dates so far. the place seems to be very clean, and well kept. and the employees seem as happy as the dogs to be here. we are comfortable with leaving our dog here when we leave town. they have multiple webcams so you can watch your dog play during the day. what a great idea... read more

Love Camp BowWow!!!! My dog Rudy LOVES GOING. I originally planned to only use every once in a while for "camp" and for when I travel. He loves it so much- I ended up bringing him almost everyday !! He stayed a week while I was out of town and came home happy and healthy! When went to take him to regular camp after boarding him, I was nervous he thought I would leave him again- NOPE, ran up to the door & didn't look back!! I love the video cameras and I can what all the dogs are doing. The only thing I wish they had was after hours cameras where the dogs sleep but I would be too obsessed with them anyways! Knowing I can see my dog during the day play and have fun is all worth to me!!! I would highly recommend Camp BowWow Woodlands to anyone looking for daycare or boarding for their dog!
