Once again, a shout out to Scarlett's Pet Salon for their wonderful work. Two of my dogs come here regularly: a Springer Spaniel and a Cocker Spaniel. Leah does such an excellent job on both of them. They both always look and smell glorious when I go to pick them up. I also love that I drop each of them off and receive a call as soon as they are done. No sitting in a locked crate for hours here! Leah is a true animal lover and a big advocate for rescue. She works with the dogs no matter where they came from, but since both of my dogs are rescues, I so appreciate the patience and understanding that she exhibits when my dogs are there. Both of my spaniels get great cuts and they look like show dogs when they leave. I would not go anywhere else to get my dogs groomed. A locally-owned small business that always goes the extra mile. Amber is a minature poodle and a puppy mill survivor that spent 3 years in a cage. It has taken 3 years for her to learn to be a dog. I found this place based off reviews and decided to give it a shot. We scheduled an apt for 9:30a on a Saturday. Upon dropping my dog off, I asked how long would the apt take and the owner (I assume) said she doesn't give times during the holidays because they're so busy. But if I wanted to have her at a certain time I could have said that when I made the apt; however during the holidays they don't take those requests (I know confusing right?). Okay I get that, so in my mind I'm thinking most would be 4 hours, because that's the most any groomer has ever had my dog. Especially if I schedule in the AM. Well fast forward we call around 2p to inquire if she is close to being done, they said she just got washed. We noticed they close at 5, so we call back and ask since we have to be somewhere at 4 do they stay open a little after 5 so we can get our dog. Nope they close right at 5. My husband tells her we have to be somewhere at 4, hence us booking an early time for her apt. She says she thinks she can get done by 3:30. Okay, my husband just decides to go over there and wait. Finally gets our dog. She comes out skin and bones even though I specifically said not to cut her skin and bones. She wasn't even severely matted. No bows or bandana (Idk if that's extra but they didn't even give me the option)...just a rushed cut. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. I get it's a busy season. I'm a small business owner too, believe me I get it. But if you know you're going to be busy, don't book so many dogs. My dog should not have to be at your place from 9:30am to 3:40p. That's ridiculous and an inconvenience to me, the owner, and a disservice to my dog who has to wait in an unfamiliar environment with a new groomer she doesn't know. I don't know how this place has 5 stars. My experience was far from it. I don't plan to return. Update: Let's get some facts straight with your very false reply. First off, I didn't book Willow's apt. And my husband says that whoever he booked with didn't inform him that during the holidays there's not guarantee pick up time and y'all get really booked. No one told him that she could be here all day, even though we were new customers. Second, you also never told me this when I arrived, I had to inquire myself how long because my dog gets anxious and I had to be somewhere. Yes I didn't give you a time, but that was because you gave me a whole spiel about how y'all don't take requests during the holidays. So respectfully, I wasn't going to request one; however, I did in good faith believe that my dog would not be there all day. Lastly, the person who he made an apt with didn't give him the option to do an earlier apt time so that is false info as well. Had we known this info prior, WE wouldn't have made an apt. Maybe you and your staff need to better communicate this prior to booking, especially to new customers who don't know how you work. read more

Scarlett's Grooming was the first groomer in this area we tried and our dog got 3 haircuts from them. The couple of employees we encountered seemed nice; the woman who I assume is the owner was not. Our first visit in there while my husband and I were checking our dog in I complimented the dog in the framed picture. The woman told us who the dog was and how old he or she was, somewhere around 18. Just being polite I said oh wow is it common for that breed to live long? Her reply was "yeah twice as long as those things" pointing to my Maltese. We were a little taken back by that comment but I did my best to not take it personal, just let it go and kept an open mind. Then when we asked for an estimated time of when we should pick our dog up, the woman became annoyed and defensive about giving a time, I let that go too. It ended up taking about 3 1/2 hours. The results were not a wonderful cut but we weren't ready to rule this place out yet because I wanted to establish a good relationship with a groomer and not jump around to a bunch of different ones. The second time there I didn't have to deal with the owner at drop off or pick up, so that part was nice but the cut wasn't that great. The third and final time I went I had to once again deal with that woman. When I picked her up she not only complained about my dog, but she gave her a horrible hair cut, and failed to trim my dog's nails nails (I assumed that would be included in the whole grooming process and I shouldn't have had to specify that she needed that as well?) Her body was shaved and the hair on her face was left ridiculously long compared to her body, no trim around the eyes or mouth at all, VERY choppy framing around the head. I didn't mind the body being really short but I thought the hair on the face would have at least been trimmed. Not only that but she cut her ear and made her bleed. The owner did at least tell me about it and showed me where it happened and how she treated the wound, and I appreciated it and told her thank you for telling me about it instead of me having to discover that later when we got home. But she did nothing but complain about my dog and say over and over "she must really hate getting groomed". Then when my dog was excited and happy to see me she complained about that too. I could have overlooked her rudeness but the poor quality cut and actually slicing her ear was too much. This lady really had me believing that I had a horribly behaved Maltese when it came to grooming. She's a very well behaved dog at home so I thought if she was behaving so badly when she was at Scarlett's she must be really unhappy there so I decided to give another grooming place a try. I won't mention the new groomer's name out of respect to Scarlettes, but we have had nothing but positive experiences there. They tell me she is really well behaved, and they give her perfect cuts. I wasn't going to leave a review on scarlettes until I tried out another place and found out it wasn't my dog that was the problem after all. I don't give negative reviews often, and I can easily overlook personality flaws as long as my dog is in good hands and isn't terrified to be there and gets a nice cut. But none of that was the case at this place which is why I felt it was important to share my negative experience there. Update to your inaccurate response: "Nice try"? Nice try doing what exactly? I would never waste my time giving a detailed account of the 3 experiences I had at a business unless they were consistently bad ones. "Nice try" to your weak ineffective response because you know my review is absolutely accurate and you didn't think I would write one because I didn't say anything back when you were being so rude. We rescued Brandi Sue and she is now 3 1/2 months old. I was having a tough time trimming her nails and she was way overdue. She was shredding me and the furniture..lol. Anyway, I called prior to their opening and asked if they could assist me by just trimming her nails only..well..they said YES! I went when they opened up at 11am and they were so kind and helpful with advice. I'm not at all knowledgeable about how to train such an energetic large puppy..the older lady was very helpful and the groomer and groomers helper were all fantastic! Today was Zeus' first day at Scarlett's grooming. We had been looking for a new groomer to cut our shihtzu's hair but haven't had much luck. I always get nervous about taking him somewhere because he's very shy. Upon walking in to his appointment all the staff were so friendly and the shop is so cute. I showed the staff a picture of how I like his hair and they did exactly what I requested. I can tell that they really love dogs and it reflects in their work. I have been going to Scarlett's Grooming for at least 18 months. The owner, Holly, and her team of groomers are excellent. I highly recommend them! I have two poodles (miniature and a standard) who I bring into Scarlett's all the time. I have only used Leah (one of the groomers) and Holly the owner, but they both do a professional job. They are also very reasonably priced and often very easy to get appointments with. I have used a lot of groomers in the past, but Scarlett's Grooming is one of my favorites. These people completely screwed up my dog's grooming today. Beware!!! I have a Labradoodle, with a traditional wavy coat (you know, the reason you buy a Doodle). The groomer was instructed to trim her face up (to clean up around her eyes and mouth) and to cut shorter under her belly - similar to a shell out. When I got her back, they had buzzed her whole body, but left her ears long. They took away the prettiest part of the dog, and you can't even tell she's a Doodle anymore. If you have a dog that needs anything more specific that a full body buzz cut, don't go here. You'll surely be as pissed off as I am right now. Just take a hard pass on this place. Update: Spoke with my brother and confirmed the instructions he gave them. Cut her face and around her eyes short and trim her up because she's hot. Hence, a shell out. That would be really short underneath and leaving her coat on top. I can tell from what you gleaned from the conversation, there was a problem with your communication skills. Even so, let's pretend for a minute that shaving my dog was the instructions. Even that wasn't done right. There are horribly uneven spots all over her. A summer cut on a Doodle would not explain what she looks like, and "buzz cut", especially an uneven one was never discussed. Sticking to my original review. So, I have a GoldenDoodle and she has never gotten her her cut because I have heard a ton on horror stories regarding cuts and groomers cutting hair too short. I knew I would have to eventually get it cut, because she was starting to look a mess lol. I researched and researched and came upon this place that has great reviews. I called and made an appointment and although a little nervous was still excited for her to get her first cut. When I contacted the shop the lady who made my appointment was super nice and that helped ease a little of my nervousness. When she arrived at her appointment, Holly the owner, greeted us and was super friendly! She made me fell so comfortable with leaving my baby with her. After I arrived the lady who was scheduled to cut Her hair arrived. She asked me what I wanted and I told her the length I wanted and she even wrote it down. I later received a call from Holly stating that my baby was moving and that they may have to cut her shorter because if not it would take longer and be more stressful for her. I thought, well even if it takes longer I would hope they would do what I asked, but I didn't want to make a big deal about it so I said do what is best BUT DO NOT cut her low to where she looks like a poodle. That was my biggest fear because those were some of the horror stories that were preventing me from getting her cut in the first place. I repeated this multiple times to a Holly and she assured me that she would tell her groomer that. Fast forward I get a call saying that my baby was ready. When I walked in and they brought her out I almost cried because she looked exactly like a poodle! I laughed because I didn't know what else to do. My heart sank because my fears had come true. Don't get me wrong the groomer did a pretty good job on the cut and I let her know that but she looked exactly like I didn't want her to look. I just smiled and chatted with the lady because I didn't want her to feel bad. To pour salt on the wound, I then took her to the dog park and everyone couldn't believe that she was cut that low especially the doodle moms :( the fellow dog park guests keep telling me that their groomers did exactly as asked and they would be devastated if their dog was cut like mine :( in the end it is my fault because I didn't make it a big deal. I'm giving 3 stars for the great customer service. The cut wasn't bad just not what I asked for when I came in or when they called. Oh well.... it will grow back.....I hope! read more

Holly has been my family's groomer forever. We know that our pups are well taken care of when they're with her. She has consoled us through loss of dogs and welcomed new pups with us. Our dogs are clipped to our preference, regardless of whether it's the standard cut for the breed. Most importantly to me, Holly specializes in nervous and neurotic dogs. After the awful cut this groomer gave my standard poodles, I had to take them to my regular groomer to straighten it out. I had discovered both dogs had been burned on their face and one had been burned and scrapped under her back legs. The regular groomer said both ears had dried blood. Scarlette's had dug so vigorously that she had scratched their ear canals. These people should not be allowed near animals. read more

I brought my 2 golden retrievers to Holly this week. They were beyond their bath schedule and in desperate need of a bath and good brushing. I called and she was able to take them same day. I got the "shed special" which was a little pricey but they needed the extra attention. Holly was very friendly and obviously loves animals. I felt comfortable leaving my babies in her care. When I picked them up, they were really soft, clean, and looked great. I could tell they got a lot of attention. Her bather was very sweet - he was very patient and good with my dogs.
