We walked in & were seated immediately were grateful for the unexpected pot of tea we were given to enjoy while we read the rather extensive menu. Service was casual & pleasant enough considering our language barriers. The portions were much bigger than we anticipated for the reasonable prices. We had to ask for boxes because the leftovers were not going to waste! 1. The cumin crusted lamb was UNREAL. It must have been deep fried for the meat to be that succulent & the cumin seeds to be crisped but not scorched. I am OBSESSED with this dish & am going to try to recreate it at home. We ate the cold leftovers hours later and haven't stopped talking about this dish. 2. I LOVED the black fungus cold salad with cilantro & sesame oil & my husband who is not a fan of that mushroom normally was very impressed with this example. I have thought of this salad daily since eating it. 3. I ordered the pig ear and that was the one dish that was fine but nothing special...I just like the texture. Wanted to order some house specialty spicy fish. It's one of these establishments famous dish. This place along with 5 other restaurants in the same block offered the same type of food from a particular Chinese region. Thinking this place may be worth trying as I'm always up to support smaller establishments over more popular well known ones as their competitors of the same street. As i looked thru Yelp on pics and comments i see the price of this dish was going for 27.99. when i placed the order the last said the dish was 32.99. The dish was just ok. It was stuffed with tofu and vermicelli and a little bit of fish. Taste was ok. Service was fast as i was told it be ready in 10 minutes. read more

More 3 and a half. We have been wanting to try this place since it opened. You may miss it since there are so many Chinese restaurants. It's right before the hot pot place. I did like the eggplant with garlic sauce because the eggplant was sliced same size. The food was decent and so was the service. The dishes weren't that spicy but had enough flavors. read more

Oily food made with low quality ingredients. Nothing tasted good and the experience was just as bad. Ordered a Tsing Tao, but the server said they only had Heineken. About 10 min later a table sat next right to me and they were all drinking Tsing Tao. Am I not allowed to have the same beer as everyone else? When I signed the check they INSISTED I add more to the gratuity. I'm not kidding. They literally tried telling me how much to tip them. The portion here is huge no joke. I think 5 people could have shared the food we ordered. The house special fish filet was the best item of the meal. Fish filet was tender, it had a lot of tofu in it that was seasoned very well and some vermicelli and veggies. Good but a bit too greasy. Fatty beef in chili oil. I could have swear it was not beef but lamb. I had asked the waiter and he had confirmed that it was indeed beef. I think I know the difference between beef and lamb. It was dry, gamey and just had the lamb meat taste to it. The flavor of the dish was good but the dry lamb meat which they insisted was beef ruined it Shrimp malatang, worst item of the meal. Wayyy tooooo salty. Did the chief dropped the salt jar in there by accident? Overall, it was just ok. Cheap for the price and amount of food you get. This is my second review as ahead of this woman for this restaurant. My girlfriend and I walked past the restaurant as it was grand opening. We decided to order only two dishes but didn't realize they were bigger than what we expected of. They were so amazing and delicious food. Again I went there with a group of friends. We ordered many different dishes as Muslim Lamb Chop, Vegetables, Spicy Fish Soup, etc. They all were very great taste and delicious! These friends loved them so much! They felt like they were fresh and authentic spicy food! This place is highly recommended! read more

Went there on Chinese new years with a group of co workers after work. It was very late at night and they were about to close, but the waiters were very friendly and attentive. We ordered about 6 hot dish and a cold dish. Everything was honestly great. I would totally recommend their lamb chops there. It's a taste that you would not get from other restaurants. Their greens were fresh, not too oily. We did want seafood, however they said they don't have frozen shrimps or crabs, they buy it fresh from market, which i find pretty impressive(because most restaurants have the frozen ones). Overall, we had an amazing time there. Food was delicious, beer was cold, it was a pretty awesome experience. Hopefully the next time I go there, I will discover more delicious food! read more

This is a good affordable place to have a gathering. The portion are big and the taste is on point 7/10 times I say. The must have should be the two fish dish. We asked after 30 minutes how much longer and the male said 10 mins. 10 minutes later and we still haven't received our food! I ordered the pepper steak and it was not what I imagined. Drop in for a late lunch. Ordered the Jia Jerng Mein and it was a humongous and very satisfying bowl of noodles. My friend ordered the pork with snow cabbage noodle soup and he couldn't finish it. Great portions, decent prices, clean environment, food is fresh. The food here is a mixture of Shanghai, Hunan, Szechuan, and others. They offer the typical lunch menu that can be found in any Chinese takeout as well as their menu with "real" Chinese food. Not sure if it was because we ordered in early afternoon, maybe the head chef was not the one cooking, but the stir fried lamb and beef we ordered tasted aweful, almost like wrapped in too much baking soda, yet still chewy and fatty gristles, not the tender pieces of meat I remembered.
