I watched one of the wranglers (not sure her name but she had blonde curly hair) roll her eyes and get visibly frustrated at a guest because he wasn't understanding her instructions. We had a lovely time on our 1 hour long horse back trail ride! It was for my husbands birthday and his brother & my sister in law came a king for the ride. Our guide was very nice, stopped and took a picture of our group. It was all very relaxed & fun. Very very safe, the horses were great & calm. The staff was great. I enjoyed my horseback riding experience with Spring Creek Western Riding. The views were fantastic and our guide even stopped to help us take a photo on our horses in front of the Teton range. They offer 1-hour rides every 1 1/2 hours and charge $59/hour. 20% gratuity is automatically applied to groups of 6 or more. Once we checked in, the process was pretty smooth, but the check-in process can be more efficient. 1 star off: The reception could be more organized. First of all, I was told to check in at "reception" but the clearest sign for reception was reception to the Spring Creek Hotel rather than the reception to the stable. When I did get to the stable, there was only one lady working there. She was trying to answer phones, check out the previous group, check in the new group, collect waivers, collect payment, etc...for everybody. It took awhile for her to finally help me. They do instruct you to arrive at least 30 minutes before your riding time...because it really does take that long to check in for them! I think it's a little ridiculous that it takes them up to half the time of a 1-hour ride for administrative tasks. read more

When I first climbed in the saddle I told the staff the stirrups were uncomfortable. The staff just shortened them, which didn't relieve the pressure on my ankles and knees. The horse was so round and the saddle stirrups leather so stiff that it caused my hip to pop out during the ride. I was in pain the entire ride. My husband needed to assist me to our car. The staff needs care for their equipment better. They also need to listen to their customers. read more

We had a big group today at Spring Creek, but the guides did an excellent job handling all of us. All of the horses were very well mannered and well cared for. The guides were very knowledgeable and talkative! The entire experience was excellent! The trail offers incredible views of the Tetons and chances to see some wildlife. read more

Had a beautiful scenic ride this morning with my son at Spring Creek. I was pleasantly surprised they allowed my 5 year old son to have his own horse (that is the min age). A lot of places I've seen in Hawaii were at least 10 years of age. We went with a 9am 1 hour ride. It wasn't too chilly but we layered up so we were comfortable. Our guide Emily was very sweet. If you want to purchase photos taken it's $25 for 1 and $65 for every one That was taken of your group. I was able to take some pics of my son but went ahead and purchased one so I'd have one with the two of us and the beautiful backdrop. Also, the pics are emailed to you. This is was the highlight of my vacation. From booking to end--- everyone we encountered was pleasant and informative. Our guide was Kirby-- a sweet young man that engaged everyone in our group in conversation, joking, or whatever. We stopped a few times to enjoy the scenery-- which was spectacular! Just a 20 minute drive from downtown Jackson, a delight for all. A great place for a variety of skill levels from pony ride for small children, to an hour ride up the beautiful mountain for gringos to 2 hour or half a day. The staff was courteous and kind. It is helpful to make reservations online and sign the appropriate documents. Saves a lot of time when you arrive. read more

My two little kids and I had the ride of our life on this trail ride! The trail was one of the most beautiful trails there is...our tour guide, Randy, totally sweet, extremely knowledgeable and made us feel like we were at home! She taught us about the area and the native flowers! All of us were very happy and we even sang songs along the way. Now every time I hear the song "Mama's don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys " I'm reminded of our fun time and can't wait to go back!!! Thank you Randy! read more

My Dad and I did the ride with Meghan in October and had a swell time. My horse Charlie was not the most disciplined about following my instructions but that's what made it endearing. The trip took us on a tour of the ranch with beautiful views. The best part was that we also saw a baby moose during the ride!! We also got plenty of time to take photos of the views. Great riding trails. Takes you right up on a cliff and down through some woods and it was just really cool. I loved the way the people who worked there asked us how much experience we've had on a horse before. The place is a little difficult to find. I would know, I got lost. The horses are very tame and don't act up. The place can give you gloves for riding and saddlebags for your stuff. It was a really great day. read more

Easy to get to from South end of town of Jackson. Affords incredible views from ridge top above town, over looks Elk Preserve and Flat Creek. One hour ride was over easy terrain. Knowledgeable Wranglers who are comfortable sharing local info. My horse was well trained, the wrangler fit the horse AND saddle to me, Patty in the office is super nice and the photographer got some nice shots from the trail. Don't pass it up! read more

Us city-slickers wanted to ride a horse while in Wyoming but were a little apprehensive. I'm so glad we did and chose this stable. The horses were tame and the guide/ wrangler made it very easy. We enjoyed a 1 hour ride around the butte with beautiful views of the Tetons and Jackson. read more

Unfortunately, I can not give 5 stars. My family and father booked a 1 hour horse ride for 6 people at 4:30, followed by a chuckwagon ride and dinner. When we were on the ride (which was beautiful) our guide (from UGA) told us he was going to be the chuckwagon driver. He was excited telling us all the things we'd later see. When our ride ended, unknowingly, both my husband and dad tipped the guide well. We were told to go inside and look at the pictures (which we bought for am additional $100) and wait for the chuckwagon to start. The photo girl told us to go have a drink outside and wait bc they weren't quite ready for the chuckwagon. Before we knew it, we were given the chef presentation for dinner and told we missed the chuckwagon tour. They said sorry but we already put the horses away. We were very disappointed. We spent almost $1000 on this outing with Spring Creek and never given any offer to refund for the chuckwagon ride that never happened or an apology. My husband contacted them afterwards and was only able to speak with the concierge and told they would get back to him. We heard nothing. No apology, no refund for the chuckwagon and worse, no explanation. We feel like we were taken advantage of. Sadly, I can't recommend a company that takes your money and tips but won't ensure you get what you pay for. It is not a large outfit, so there was no reason that we shouldn't have known the chuckwagon was leaving. Worse yet, they won't return my husband's call when he asked for an explanation. read more

We called and made a reservation to go horseback riding. 2 adults and 3 kids, they quoted me a price of $49 per person but when we arrived suddenly the price doubled. There was no apology or trying to make it right by honoring the original amount. It clearly says $49 on their brochure. I did ask for another lead for my 6 year old so she didn't have to ride alone but I should've been told on the phone that it would be double for all riders. Misleading advertising. read more
