Taylor Kelley is an excellent river guide. My 13 year old nephew and I travelled a portion of the Snake River with rapids in two inflatable kayaks. It was challenging and exciting but not unsafe for our beginner experience levels. Taylor kept an excellent watch over our ability and knowledge to be sure we could handle each rapid well before it arrived. Her guidance made it a fun and beautiful day. We spent over an hour in the car getting to the launch site and back and enjoyed every minute because Taylor is a fascinating person and a great conversationalist. One of our kayaks got loose and went downstream and Taylor exerted a tremendous amount of extra effort to get things back together. She was a good sport about it even though it created a lot of extra work for her. I've also rented inflatable kayaks from Rendezvous and they do a great job. I came with zero knowledge of kayaks or local conditions and they got me the right equipment and made sure I knew just where to go. Rendezvous is very fair about pricing. We went on the 3 day kayak overnight trip to Jackson Lake for the second time. The first time was scheduled through REI; we enjoyed it so much we went back for more. Unfortunately, REI pulled their outdoor adventures, but Rendezvous picked up where they left off and made improvements. Our guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and created a fun and safe environment. Luke and Taylor were a fantastic team. We had a great time. The adding of the white water kayaking on the last day was a huge upgrade. Taylor's knowledge of each rapid allowed me to take them on with confidence. We did miss have Luke on this portion of the trip, however we understand he had to take care of the "clean up" for the equipment on the trip. Rented 3 times from RRS in early Aug, 2017. Great selection of well-maintained gear, and helpful staff. Be sure to book-ahead for popular items, such as Duckies, or SUP, as they tend to get busy in the summer. To enjoy a beautiful sunset row, you can rent an item in the early afternoon, then return it first thing the next morning if you don't make it back by the time they close. Two returns were smooth and quick, but one of the returns I needed to argue with the staff on what was considered "dirty" when the "dirt" was effectively gravel from their own parking lot. Five friends enjoyed a 4 day/three night kayak/camping excursion on Jackson Lake mid September 2021. We started our trip with blue, sunny skies and ended with freezing temperatures, white caps on the lake and snow covered mountains. Our guides (Priya nd JT) were nothing short of superheroes. Not only were they patient, kind and fun, they were exceptionally skilled and willing to sacrifice their own comfort in freezing rain to make our experience the best possible. We had an absolutely incredible adventure and now have memories that will last a lifetime. We would do this trip all over again. Went here for SUP rentals. $41 a day for inflatable board $48 for foam board $51 for composite board Ended up choosing inflatable. My first impression of the staff & prices were a good one. A young man explained to us how to deflate/ inflate the boards and also helped us load everything in the car. When I asked about the hours of operation, he said they would be closing at 7:30 So I get back at 7:15 and they are closed. A woman walks out and I tell her I have equipment to return. She says sorry. We're already closed. I continue to unload the equipment out of my car when a man storms out of the shop yelling at us, refusing to take the boards back because they are closed. I am told to return tomorrow before 7am to drop off equipment. The only problem was, I'm not Local. Just passing through. So he takes the equipment back and says " thanks a lot!" This was the highlight of our trip to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. We arranged for a guide for our family of 4, including teen boys. We had never river kayaked. Our guide, Conner was outstanding! He was a great instructor. We all learned a lot and he made it super fun! We are all hooked now on kayaking. Rented a raft here last week. Had one of the best times ever! Good service. The guys at the counter were pretty cool, and gave me some good info on the Snake daily run. However, there was an issue pulling up my reservation, as whichever stoner I talked to the week prior had completely mangled my name to in incomprehensible mess that no one could figure who I was. Raft is a good price, though I was expecting a 12' boat so as to transport it on my roof rack. Ended up getting a 14' Tributary, but had to spring for the trailer, as it was too wide for me to haul overhead. Worked out for the best, since loading and unloading was far easier, and I was hoping to try out an AIRE raft for a possible future purchase. Other places that rent rafts in town seem to offer lesser NRS and Achilles boats. Our boat from Rendezvous was newer and in outstanding condition. They really do offer nice equipment here. They loaned me a ball hitch and wire adapter without batting an eye, and gave us a raft pump, a few flip lines and an extra paddle. Kick ass. I think rentals include paddles and PFDs if you don't have your own. Dropped the boat off around 6. Checking it in was a breeze. This place is SUPER busy before 10a and after 5p, and traffic is terrible on Hwy. 26, so plan accordingly. A commercial trip for 3 people doing 2 runs is around $450, and more with a tip. For less than $150, we were able to get our own nice boat, do 2 laps from West Table to Sheep Gulch and have a total blast all day. If you have the means, the head count, and an adventurous spirit, save yourself hundreds of dollars and stop by here to do your raft trip. Rendezvous made our day. read more

Brian took us out in kayaks on the Snake River. We didn't have too much experience with kayaks, but Brian taught us some foundational info and we felt very comfortable once we were out on the water. Brian was knowledgable, fun to hang out with, and of course very safety conscious. We ended up kayaking through rapids on the Snake River; this was definitely a first for us and we enjoyed it immensely. This is an easy recommendation! read more

Wow bought a Traverse kayak from these guys. Signed up for a lesson with Taylor. Great lesson, she was very good at demonstrating the maneuvers and then coaching me through it as I went through it. Can't wait for spring for another as the river and Rapids will change and definitely will want more guidance for these guys. read more

Went on a 4 day white water rafting adventure and the team at Rendezvous took amazing care of my group. They outfitted us and started us off easy with small group instruction to build our confidence and skills with so much enthusiasm. We rented kayaks for the day. When we entered the store and asked where a good section for us would be we were told we should have paid for a tour. When we were begrudgingly recommended a section after paying $5 for a simple map, it was level-appropriate, but not scenic (our priority was scenery) and were recommended just a 90 minute stretch for a full day rental. That rude welcome set the tone, but the main problem we had with this company was with kayak transportation. Their foam roof rack system is flawed and not what we were expecting (you should secure kayak front-back, not side-side). They just cinched down the kayaks side-side on our rental causing roof damage. When we informed them of this, we were told we signed a waiver releasing them of any responsibility, which of course we signed prior to knowing that their foam rack method was sketchy. From their attitude and the other reviews here, it seems if you give them lots of more money they will be nicer than they were to us, but they basically set the tone from the beginning with us as not caring about our experience at all. The couple of locals we met didn't have much nice to say about them, either. We will avoid them in the future. read more

There's messing with tourists, and there's these jerks. We stayed at the Jackson KOA, about 15 minutes south of town on the Snake river. We wanted to tube down the river to our campsite. We asked for guidance on if there were any hour-long trips. The guy (or rather, the kid) at Rendezvous told us to put in at Wilson. That seemed far, but I trusted him. It ended up being a four-hour trip. There were no places to pull out the tubes until shortly before our campsite. One of our friends has low blood sugar and nearly fell unconscious on the trip. When I told the guy at Rendezvous, he laughed and completely didn't care. Terrible experience. Would not recommend to anyone. Go somewhere else. read more

We had a fantastic afternoon on the Snake River paddle boarding. There were 4 of us - all women. The trip down the river was beautiful and our guide Tyler was the best. He was really skilled at both safety, geographical history of the region, saved us when we tipped over, and he even serenaded us with his harmonica as we floated down the river. A must do on any Jackson Hole visit. read more

I arranged for a full-day river running session on Jun 18, 2013. The equipment was top-top notch. We had every imaginable option to stay warm on a cold day. The Jackson Zen yaks were near new. Our instructor John W. was the consummate pro. He'd run every inch of two rivers we paddled given his near 20-years experience in the valley. He definitely upped our game on this day. just did the one day 2-7 pm kayaking trip down the snake river with me and my two boys... it was a blast. very good instructors Emily and Elliot made it fun and informative at the same time very exciting , memories me and my boys will never forget. .Felt very safe doing level 2 and 3 rapids so muck fun would highly recommend these guys if you want to do some white water. Maybe because it's April & therefore it's the off season, but I was stunned by the lack of professionalism we experienced when asking the staff (Kase) about possible paddle board rentals. He basically challenged us rather than helped us. It was like he was posturing and trying to one-up us and yet we were the customers. He was more helpful after I told him that we were there to get his help & recommendations but no one should have to do that. I can't imagine him coming into my place of business and treating him the way he treated us. read more
