Jackson Hole White Water Rafting Company is so fun. They put a priority on safety. We took a private Scenic float trip. It was just the two of us and our guide, Everett. He was very knowledgeable and funny. We rode a bus to the River from the corporate headquarters for JHWW. Lots of other people were on the bus. They had about 12 to 15 people in each of their boats. (2 other boats besides ours). This is a very relaxing trip. It is so nice to see the scenery and not have to worry about paddling or anything. That is what the guide does. JHWW also offers different levels of river rafting. Bill Clinton actually took a river rafting trip with his entourage through this company in 1996. They have pictures of all of them. The front desk people are very friendly and happy to answer any questions. They have clothing for sale. Some of it was really deeply discounted. They also sell snacks and water. I was going to purchase water but the lady offered me a free souvenir reusable container and she filled it with water. The staff could not have done anything better. This company is great. read more

Jamie was our guide and he was amazing! Made everyone feel comfortable. Even our ten year old boat mate who was clearly nervous at the start of the whitewater trip was soon "riding the bull" on the front of the boat in some intense rapids. We did the 2-3 hour, small boat tour. Recommend the full wetsuits with booties and gloves due to chilly water. Wetsuit warmth and Jamie's encouragement made it possible for me to take a dip off the boat in a calmer part of the River. Jamie pointed out a bald eagle, osprey, merganser, and other birds. His stories were awesome and everyone needs to look for him as a hotshot skier in the upcoming Warren Miller film. Janell at the JH Whitewater office was very accommodating; she redefined customer service! We had a reservation issue and she went above and beyond to help us out. The 7 mile Teton Views Float advertises as a 3 hour trip but the actual run is an hour. However, the length was fine w me because the sun was intense. Beautiful scenery, wonderful wildlife, saw eagles, deer, ducks off the beaten path. Our guide encouraged us to put our feet in the water (which felt soooo good), pointed out the wildlife, told us about the spectacular scenery, and did a great job navigating our raft. read more

Buyer beware: my kids and I almost drowned on a trip with JHWW. We took what was advertised as a "scenic float trip" for ages 4+ where "swimming isn't required" (as per their website). After a very brief security conversation, we put on lifejackets, and got in the raft. We were all sitting on the edge of the raft, and only the guide had oars. Within a few minutes of departure, the guide slammed our raft into a pylon. He fell and the raft capsized on impact, throwing our entire party (including my 6 year old son and 70 year old father in law) into the river. Within a few seconds, our party was flowing down in fast moving (6000 cubic feet/sec) water. We kept expecting the company to help or to give us guidance from the side, but I never saw my guide again until after I was out of the river. I almost drowned trying to save my children, and the response from our guide (or the other guides who all saw the incident happen) was casual at best, indifferent at worst. Take it from me - this company is lax with safety, and has had a death before (https://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/Accident/detail/accidentid/3536). Your family may be next, best to work with someone who actually cares about their customers. In fact, their website is even out of date - the owner David Tibbitts is still listed, but he passed away this summer. None of the guides we actually went with are even listed on their website! read more

Amazing! This was my first time white water rafting and my husbands second time, it was a lot of fun!! Eric was our guide on a small boat and I would highly recommend asking for him as your guide, he was funny and very knowledgeable. My husbands favorite quote of his was "don't panic if you fall out of the boat, no one has ever gotten back onto the boat and been like "oh thank god I panicked"" Would definitely recommend and I would love to go again! This was one of the highlights of our trip! It was the perfect amount of thrill and leisure. Our tour guide Matt was very awesome and animated. He even let us alternate and take turns "riding the bull" / sitting up at the very front of the raft. We wore the full body wet suits because we get very cold very easily. If you do, you should probably wear them because we got very soaked. We didn't need to wear helmets and no one fell out of the raft. It was quite safe and very fun! read more

I took the scenic trip and it was good! The guys that worked it were fantastic! Tristan (handled the boat) and BJ (bus driver) were great. The lunch was really good. The website said turkey sandwiches, I thought it would be a "typical" one, but it was more! Lots of turkey on a bun with fixings! Cut up fruit, delicious! Broccoli salad with a peanut sauce, yum! The small boat whitewater float trip was fantastic! Loved it - great guide, great animals sightings, and fun rapids. On a side note - Please take note of their 48-hour cancelation policy. We originally booked for a party of 5, but after a strenuous hike the day before, my 70-year-old Dad was unable to join us for the whitewater trip. We were told we would need to present a "doctors note" to receive a refund. I understand that businesses have policies, this is just an FYI that their cancellation policy is VERY STRICT. read more

Fantastic time!! If you are looking for a great experience on the Snake River while visiting the Tetons, this place is a must. Great staff, very friendly and helpful. We took our sons (13 and 9) on the scenic float/white water combo, and had an awesome time. The included lunch was great, but we ate it on the raft while floating- not at a picnic area as described. With so many options to choose from, I went with this company simply because they came up first on a Google search. I wanted to get on the water, but wasn't interested in getting in the water (it's 40-something degrees right now!). We booked the 3-hour river float experience. We took a 15-minute bus ride from the office to the river. Our guide, Alex, was experienced and informative. We had 6 people on our raft and no one got wet! Our package also came with a bag lunch consisting of a sandwich, potato chips, an apple, a cookie, and a bottle of water. At the end, our bus was waiting for us to take us back to the office. My friends and I were in town for the Grand Tetons and booked this trip -- everything was super easy, well communicated, and we had such a blast!! They gave us everything we needed: wetsuits, booties, jackets. Our guides were Sam and Elliot (who was training) and they were both so personable, engaging, informative, and hilarious :) They made this rafting trip so much fun!! This company was also very responsive after our booking with communicating transportation needs (e.g. told us about the traffic coming into down) -- just such a nice touch and we really appreciated how thoughtful they were. Our Snake River float yesterday with my daughter and two grandsons was so much fun! It was cold, rainy, windy and it just didn't matter ! John our driver was so kind , we were his first trip as a driver and he was very kind and professional ! Very nice young man ! Sam was our raft "master"! He made our trip great, he had all of the warm extras needed and even though we all thought we were prepared the blankets made a huge difference! Also he let our grandsons 10 & 8 pilot the raft !
