We had a great time. We live in a desert--our river is bone dry, so it was nice to see so much water, even though the water level of the snake river was considered low. Ashton, our guide, was great. She shared little anecdotes about the area, asked small talk questions about us (where we're from, grades the kids are in, sports they play, etc.), and just made the float a great experience. (She's got a great energy!) Since most of our party of 5 cannot swim, we chose the scenic experience instead of white water. There was one tiny section that was a "sampler" of the white water experience. It wasn't wild by any means, but that was enough to get the kids excited about the prospect of doing a white water experience in the future. read more

What a fun place to book for a water rafting trip. So we were offered to be picked up directly by the company at our campsite which was at Alpine resort (amazing as well) however we didn't need the pick up. Anyhow, we were provided with George our bus driver... let me just say he is a hoot!!! I loved his great boisterous personality! He made the bus ride so much fun. We were all cracking up at his hilarious stories. Before we knew it we were placed on this raft with our guide Alex who was also very fun! He was a great guide. He made us all feel very safe and my kids were able to hang out in the front and get blasted by the crazy rapids coming into our raft. We had a decide size group with us about 14 I believe yet we all had a great time and they had changing rooms for us to use afterwards and clean bathrooms to all get freshened up. Overall had two great people to guide us through the morning and would do it again. Definitely recommend getting the wetsuits! It's worth it. You'd freeze if not. It's pretty cold!! read more

Our guide, Cali (from Florida), was chatting with our family of 10 the entire time and even let the small kids (7 and 5) row the raft with assistance. We saw about 10 bald eagles (including a premature one without the white head), a beaver dam, and some fish near the end. Tip: if you're floating in the morning, it's very chilly (I wore a sweater, fleece jacket, and jeans), but then the sun will be beating on you. Bring plently of water, snacks, and a change of clothes underneath because the ride is about 2.5 hours long. read more

On my last rafting trip in Costa Rica, I had a very, very traumatizing experience. I know I needed to get over it, so after a bunch of research, felt comfortable enough to use this company. Dave Hansen Whitewater is a top notch tour company. Their guides are well experienced and everything ran very professionally. Within minutes of being on the water I felt at ease and ended up having an absolute blast. In fact, this may be one of the best rafting trips I've ever been on. Just a note: there is a very steep walk at the end. If you aren't acclimated to the changes in elevation (I live sea level) you might want to take it slow. Great activity! This was fun and relaxing and a huge chunk of that goes to our amazing guide Egen, he was absolutely fantastic. He is very knowledgeable about the river and even offered some awesome eateries around Jackson (we went to one for a late lunch after our excursion and it was delicious). The views are amazing and we saw 15 bald eagles, several osprey and some marmots. In the calmer sections the kids even got to "row" for a little bit (with Egen's help of course) and they loved it! This was such a fun way to end my trip to Wyoming. I was staying in Jackson Hole and booked a scenic trip down the Snake River. Dave Hansen Whitewater Trips has been voted as one of the best activities to do in Jackson Hole. This company is one of the oldest river rafting companies in the area (since 1967) and is located in Town Square. They do both whitewater rafting and scenic float trips down the Snake River. She was awesome and shared with us a lot of info about the area. The Snake River is 1,078 miles long and flows all the way into Washington. We saw all types of birds and critters on our trip down including some marmots, an osprey and a bunch of bald eagles. The Snake River and Teton mountains are your backdrop and make for some beautiful views. I had such a nice and relaxing day and was able to take lots of pictures. Amazing! Such a blast! We went in one of the small 8 person boats and going through the rapids with your kid "riding the bull" is an experience not to be missed! The guide was great, the bus driver was great, all and all it is an experience that is not to be missed! A couple of notes: 1. Bring your own towels to dry off after you take your wetsuits off and to sit on for the ride back. Even if you change your still a bit soggy and you'll be glad you have a towel 2. Rent the wet suits, jacket included!! Even if the sun is warm that water is mountain SNOW run off and is freezing! 3. Bring snacks and water for the bus ride. Especially the ride back to town. It's at least 40 minutes and you'll have been "out" for almost 4 hours by that point. Everyone in your group will be very thirsty and the littles especially will be starving! 4. If you have a really good waterproof case & strong lanyard for your phone bring it; there are some beautiful slow spots to take pictures. If it's questionable at all, leave it behind, the chance is too great! The water moves too fast and there's no way for any part of you to stay "dry" and keep it protected. They have photographs but only in one spot so it would have been nice to have other pictures along the way read more

What a wonderful time we had on our river rafting trip. We did the small boat rapids tour at the end of May. Water levels were great so the rapids were flowing. We had our 15 and 11 yr old sons with us and they had a blast. There were two mellow parts where we could jump in the water. It was FREEZING but worth it. Don't forget to rent wetsuits. We booked an 8 person rafting tour (2 adults and a 12 yo) down snake river. We have never been white water rafting and this tour was very good for first timers. Class 2 and 3 rapids and lots of time to relax between rapids. Bryce led our raft and he made sure everyone was comfortable and had a good time! There were several sections of the river where you could jump off the raft and swim. Everyone was also provided with the opportunity to sit at the front of the raft for extra fun! But if you want less motion, the back of the raft is a good spot. Don't forget to rent wetsuits and jackets since it is cold. Rentals are included for kids 12 and under. Also, pack a towel to dry off at the end of the trip so you don't have to be wet for the 45 minute bus ride back. read more

Soooo much fun! I arrived so nervous! Especially scared that I would fall out. But they have a quick easy tip on how to prevent that from happening. My guide was so kind, funny, and easy to talk to. He had a very friendly personality. I only rented the wet jacket since I had water pants. Water was cold, but the water jacket definitely helped a lot. I'm sure their wet suits would have helped even more. Don't pass up on those. Definitely rent them if it isn't hot enough outside. And absolutely bring a extra change of warm clothes to change into afterwards. So glad to have experienced my first whitewater rafting with this company. No regrets whatsoever! read more
