This past Monday July 7 at 2:28, my husband and I were on the main highway. We stopped along the road with several other cars as the tour from your ranch were crossing. One of the guides was struggling with the horse he was on. It was doing circles while he was on the highway waiting for others to cross. Once everyone had crossed and he was on the dirt, he proceeded to hit his horse several times in the neck, which appeared to be with a lot of force. We were appalled and this type of abuse to this horse should never happen. I suggest you terminate this employee or take any necessary action. What we witnessed was awful and I hope this isn't typical of the way your Ranch treats these beautiful animals. read more

The teen group at Triangle X Ranch was such an amazing experience and one I will certainly be returning to. Our horse wranglers Carson, Brittany, and Matt were so much fun and some of the coolest people you will meet. Nice beautiful place. One turd in the punch bowl, a wrangler named "Derek", I got stuck with him for 3 of the 6 days. What an absolute A hole, has no idea how to treat guess and should not be in a customer facing situation. Won't be going back just because of him, otherwise it is a really nice place with decent food and the staff is nice too. But can't take the chance on a one week vacation when somebody like that is involved, it takes too much away from a beautiful experience. read more

The most amazing vacation ever. We did the float with Turner as our guide, (Not to be confused with the "Turners" that own the ranch). He was awesome and so knowledgeable of the river and Tetons. We did the Fly Fishing half day and was also a very good time. But staying at the Ranch for the week was the best vacation EVER. If you love trail riding, horses, family style western experience including square dancing and cookouts, no place will ever be better. Oh yea, the views of the Tetons everyday are priceless. What an amazing experience! The Triangle X crew started off by ensuring our safety by canceling our original trip due to a thunderstorm that made the river unstable and they didn't want to take any changes. We were able to quickly reschedule our trip for next morning. We were greeted by the Triangle X crew again and was given easy instructions and taken to the river. We had an AWESOME guide by the name of "Jim". He was knowledgeable, really friendly and answered all of our questions! Pointed out several Bald Eagles and other things along the river. Even gave me some good recommendations on what turns out to be some great beers! We really enjoyed our visit at triangle X and can't wait to come back again in the future. The wranglers were awesome. We found an amazing they knew every horse by the way they looked and they were about 150 of horses. We really appreciated the management for allowing the employees to go on horseback rides on their days off. We really felt like we got to know the people there more than just a casual interactions at lunch or other times. We appreciate the fact that some people have been there before and they were riding the same horse they had road for the last two three or four years. On one trail ride we ran to people who had been there and one of the people had actually ridden one of the horses that was in our group. The food was B+ which is what I was expecting. It was Ranch food it was really good, what made it fun was after our meal the service people come out with a box of ice cream cones or something which really made it feel special. This is a great place to vacation and next time I'll try to do it in the summertime where they have cookouts on the trails square dances and other activities besides horseback riding. read more

This is a review for the 10-mile scenic float dinner excursion. Triangle X did a great job, they sent email confirmation with meeting instructions. Our guide picked us up and followed all the current guidelines to prevent the Covid 19 spread. We were shuttled from the meeting area to the dinner area. The food was top notch with your choice of chicken or steak, potatoes, corn, Caesar salad, dinner roll and cookie. After our dinner we left on our 10-mile scenic float. Our guide Dave was great. You can't control what wildlife you see but he made sure to give us information on the snake river. He pointed out and amazing Eagle's nest and other wildlife. This was an easy float and would be good for school age to seniors. read more

We were really looking forward to the river float trip on an evening to see the wild life. 1) They changed the meeting location. They tried to phone us but there is no cell service in the Yellowstone.Grand Teton region so we did not get the message. I think they should have someone present to meet us at the normal location. If they had, we would have been on the evening float. 2) Took the next noon trip (we could not take an evening trip b/c we vaca was ending and we were flying home). The trip was a bit boring and saw little wild life. We saw more wild life and more varied wild life on a Mammoth Springs safari bus tour. read more

Outstanding!! Booked a half day fly fishing trip down the snake river. First time fly fishing for my wife and I'm a novice myself. Had the pleasure of having Annie as our guide. Very patient and knowledgeable on all things fly fishing. Had a great time on the river and caught several cutthroat . The scenic Grand Teton range was a plus. Saw several Eagles, pronghorn, and an osprey floating down the river. We booked this sight unseen and could not have been more please with this outfit. read more

My husband, son, and I did the 10 mile river raft trip with Alex as our river guide. What a fun experience! There had been a lot of rain the day before so the river was high and fast. Alex was clearly experienced in reading the river and navigating the obstacles. We saw a moose and a lot of birds. Alex shared a wealth of knowledge about the area, wildlife, river and history. We booked an Elk hunt in the Teton Wilderness this past fall and recently returned from that trip as one of the best hunting experiences I have had over the last 25 years. The Wolverine Camp was second to none and the attention to detail at the camp from taking care of the horses on a three day rotation, Tack Room Tents for the Saddles, sweeping out our tents which had floor mats to the food was fantastic. The ride in was 18 miles and took 6 hours. We did have time to get off the horses and stretch which was welcome. You need to know this is a Wilderness hunt and you are in primative country that can only be accessed with a licensed Outfitter. Not your normal treck into the woods. The scenery was amazing and you need to realize not many people have the opportunity to take in this type of an experience. Well worth the price of admission. I would definately go back every year if I can get an Elk Tag. read more

We took a float trip down the Snake River with Triangle X Ranch and had a great experience. Our guide told us all about the area, helped us look for wildlife, and was great with the young kids. You can see moose, pronghorn, deer, bald eagles, and even bears! The views were beautiful. I highly recommend a float trip to see the park if you are in the area! read more

We had a marvelous Wine & Cheese float with these guys. A shuttle picked us up right on time and took us to a wine shop where we met the guide. From there a quick ride to the river and we launched in less than 15 minutes. Dress comfortably and don't worry about getting wet. There are a few ripples but no splashing. The bottom of the raft stayed perfectly dry the whole trip. The views are breathtaking and the guide answered all our questions and added additional info. We saw eagles, moose, osprey, geese and beaver lodges. The cheese selection and fresh fruit were great. It's about 10 miles ... or 1.5 hour float, so adjust your wine purchase accordingly. We're not wine drinkers, but two bottles worked out perfectly. We exited at Moose and were promptly returned to our lodge. We'd go with this organization again in a heartbeat. read more

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience at the Triangle X ranch. Everything from the staff, the accommodations, the food, the horses, and of course the views and vistas ...TOP NOTCH. A wonderful place to get away from television and our smart devices. A true "dude ranch" experience within a caring family atmosphere. Triangle X Float Trip: My wife and I had a great float trip for about 10 miles down the Snake River. The scenery was outstanding, and we had an opportunity to see several moose and an eagle. A 5-person family shared the raft with us, and the kids had a good time, too. Our float leader-pilot provided a solid narration and guided the raft expertly through twists and turns (and around several floating trees). Total duration of program was about 2 hours, including travel from Moose, WY to the launch point. I took over 80 photos along the trip. Great views of Grand Teton! We were staying at a Motel in Jackson Hole, and the drive to the float trip was easy (maybe 20 minutes). read more

I'd have to disagree with all these reviews. Perhaps, because our trip was at the beginning of the season, the staff didn't have their stuff together yet. This place tried to kill me twice. First night, I was served severely undercooked chicken. Additionally, on one of my rides, my horse took off from the pack and I almost ate it. Only one of the wranglers made me feel safe. I think her name was Heather. She was awesome. Also, some of the other guests were completely rude to me because I had never been to the ranch before and I don't go every year like them. Also, bring TONS of bug spray because you will get eaten alive. I understand this is a dude ranch but you are paying to be here so I would expect a little ounce of hospitality. Also, bring a ladder because you'll need it to get into the uncomfortable beds that are 4 feet off the ground. Lastly, you'll have to eat your meals quickly because the kitchen staff is Always hurrying to clear your plate. I'm going to assume that by the end of the season the staff is more on top of the ball. read more

How do you tell one dude ranch from another? Triangle X was recommended by a friend that has been going there with his family for the last 25 years, which seemed like a good endorsement. After our week there, we can see why and we will definitely be going back. First and foremost was the 6 days of riding during our one week stay. We were given a horse for the week and the freedom to choose what kind of riding we wanted to do. Head wrangler Megan asked detailed questions to try and match us with the best horses. Ask any ranch employee and they can pretty much describe the personality of each horse. After seeing that I wasn't in love with my first horse, Megan took the initiative and gave me a wonderful horse for the 2nd half of our stay. Even after we arrived home, our kids are wondering who is riding "their" horses this week. We took lesson rides all week with wrangler Bill who was a wry, patient, fun and a wealth of information. Each ride was on a different trail every time. We were at the ranch during a slow week where it wasn't booked to capacity so there were never very many people on our rides. The ranch lets you decide what type of ride you want and the wranglers didn't make anyone do anything they were uncomfortable with. Everyone working at or associated with the ranch was professional & friendly. There were lots of children in a wide range of ages that bonded over the week. Our teenage boys had a blast, too. Their wrangler, Derek, did a perfect job of keeping teenage boys interested in learning more. Even though there weren't enough teens to do the overnight riding trip, the ranch accommodated the kids that wanted to camp outside with a trip to sleep under the stars. That was just one of the many things that our kids loved about the ranch. There were lots of other activities for every member of the family that kept the kids and parents interested and not missing TV or electronics at all. The cabins were very comfortable and really clean. The food was served family style with a bell calling guests to all meals. We had the best ribs and beans that we've ever had, and we were also envious of the vegetarian options. Our children have demanding tastes and on more than one occasion asked the kitchen staff for a recipe. We also tried fly fishing, which we have never done before. Will and Will M. were great guides that tried (very hard) to help us catch fish, which we did! They were very, very patient trying to help us City Slickers learn the fine art of fly fishing in one afternoon. Last but not least is the location in the Teton National Park. The Tetons looked different every day, and the location in the Park let us ride all around the Snake River and the nearby mountains so we saw tons of elk and bison, and we even saw a grizzly bear with cubs when we were safely in our car on the way home. Everything about this ranch is cozy and welcoming, but works with an efficiency that is amazing. The only thing that would have made the trip better was if we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be returning. Our kids are planning it already! read more

I have been coming here with my family on and off since I was 7. This is my third year in a row, and I brought my son with me for the first time this year and was excited to share it with him. The wranglers are knowledgeable and the staff is friendly. Beautiful views. However, I was greatly upset to find at the end of the week that the ranch stated I owed $780 more than I was quoted. It took 3 different tries to get a logical explanation for the discrepancy out of the office staff, and the reason was that my initial invoice reflected for 2 people in a 3 person cabin. Originally, a third person was to stay with us for part of the week, and we were told they would be given a pro rated rate. I told the ranch weeks ahead of time that the third member of our party would not be joining us. NO update was made at that time to the invoice nor was any statement made about it. My invoice showed for 2/2 (so to me it appeared complete) and apparently the other person was to be invoiced 1/1, but no invoice was ever sent to me or to them, nor was it indicated in any communications that the amount on my invoice was subject to change, especially since no updated invoice was sent. So it was my full understanding that the money I had set aside and had in my check would satisfy the number I was quoted. This caused a lot of confusion and embarrassment and put me in a bind. Becca in the office did not seem to give much consideration or care to this. I was able to satisfy the payment, and would have had the money ready ahead of time had I known it was coming. A lot of people who frequent the ranch are wealthy. But some of us save all year to get there. I am a teacher and save for the ranch in a joint business account held with family members. I worked very hard to have the money for both my son and I to make it, including working a second job. Interestingly, the ranch offers a 3% discount if the bill is paid in cash or check. My deposit was paid by card and the balance by check. Had they chosen to, that 3% waiver would have covered that $780. It became clear that the ranch does not value integrity, transparency, or loyalty. My son was the 4th generation of my family to attend and this was my 13th year in attendance. Over the years, we have spent tens of thousands at Triangle X and have made so many memories, and for the first time, I don't know that I will ever go back. For that kind of money, I could go to Europe. read more

We were there in the winter and while there was nothing we didn't like, we thought it was horribly overpriced. It was bad value for money. Two nights ended up costing us (there were two of us) almost $800 (after taxes and surcharges) because they charge per person rather than by the room/cabin. Yes, you can snow shoe and cross country ski around the property but that's true for the whole area; there are trails all over. Yes, food is included but the meals were only okay. Yes, the view is great but so is the view with most properties in the area - the whole place is gorgeous. We will be back to the area but we'll stay elsewhere. read more

Back in June, someone posted a 2 star review for Triangle X Ranch. They must be a generally angry and disgruntled person because I have never had nothing less than a fabulous time and everyone I know and met there feels the same. This was my third time at the ranch and I am coming back next year. Everyone I met at the ranch this past week has been to Triangle X Ranch nothing less than 4 times. Why do we keep coming back? Because it is a magical place. The wranglers are so nice, helpful, patient and fun! My kids and teens love their groups and are so sad when the week comes to an end. The cabins are a giant step above rustic and are comfortable and clean. The food is delicious and fresh, prepared on site from a fabulous chef. Bear in mind this is a dude ranch so you ride horses every day. Yes, you are riding a live animal so at times they can be unpredictable. But I, who am not a big horse lover like my family, have never had an unpleasant experience. The wranglers are skilled and endlessly patient - even with my mediocre horse skills. I always leave with my confidence strengthened and never feel foolish or embarrassed at my less than stellar horsemanship. There are group rides for all skill levels. If you don't love horses, no big deal. The cabins have an enviable and photo worthy view of the Grand Tetons. I love to relax and sit on the porch of my cabin and read or chat with friends and guests. The overall staff are sweet, kind and endlessly helpful and the Turner family, always excellent hosts. We cannot wait for our return trip next year! read more
