Incredible experience floating down the Snake River. We did the last trip of the day at 5:30 which I highly recommend during summer. We saw a moose, elk, several bald eagles, and had stunning views of GTNP. Our tour guide Ben (from Wisconsin) was terrific.

We booked a float trip with friends of ours and it had to be rescheduled due to downed trees. While we were disappointed that it had to be rescheduled and our friends had to miss it, we are truly grateful that this company checks out the river BEFORE they send a boat out. They quickly refunded me for our friends tickets and were very apologetic despite this being out of their control. My family was able to reschedule our float trip and it could not have been more perfect. It was a beautifully sunny day. The tour was very smooth and enjoyable. Our guide, Chris, was very knowledgeable and told us lots of interesting things about the area. He was great at answering any questions people had along the way. The rafts keep in contact with each other as they go, alerting each other of animals or places to avoid-as the river is constantly changing. Our family loved everything about this experience and would do it again. And recommend it to anyone heading out that way. Definitely worth the time and money. And, as a side note, tip your guide, people!!

The snake River float tour was incredible! Not only beautiful views but the tour guide Ross was super chill and easy to talk to. They provided transportation to the spot we entered the water and it was super relaxing. Great people and awesome way to see the National Park. I would 100% do it again.

We did the evening float trip at 5pm in mid July. It was very relaxing -- no need for towels, swimwear, water shoes, etc. We were completely dry and enjoyed a peaceful trip down the river. Our guide, Kris, was great and very knowledgeable. He directed our attention to moose, bald eagles, and beavers. I would recommend the evening trip to anyone looking for the animals, and a morning or afternoon trip for views of the Tetons. With the way the sun faces, the Tetons were shadowed in our evening trip. But in the morning, the sun would light them up beautifully.

Amazing experience!! So peaceful and such a beautiful float. I would highly recommend this for your itinerary if your visiting the area. We had Reed for our tour guide. He was super knowledgeable and such a fun guy. He's been in the business for 15 years! Great guy, awesome float, beautiful scenery... definitely a must!

The float trip was amazing! We were in town for the week and I was looking for activities to do each day. I chose this place based on a Web search and I'm glad I did. The customer service was great and our guide, Sam was amazing! Sam was very knowledgeable and friendly, He made sure that we all got a chance to get pictures of the great views. We saw several bald eagles as well! Sam made the trip great! I Would recommend this place and Sam to anyone visiting the area.

My family and I had a GREAT time doing the scenic float trip down the Snake River with Solitude Float Trips. Our guide Bernie was patient and funny. He let each of my kids take turns steering the boat. The scenery was spectacular. We saw a prong-horn, 3 bald eagles, and an osprey. The only reason any of us got wet were because of my family members sticking their hands in the water and flicking water at each other. Otherwise we would have stayed totally dry the entire trip. I was also appreciative for Bernie's recommendations of places to go to eat and things to do.

It became our launching point for heading to the other side, the western exposure, the Idaho side of those Grand Teton mountains, where we planned to continue our adventure into Yellowstone at the west entrance. We had done a not-so-thorough couple of hours in the region, stopped in Jackson for lunch, marveled at the magnificence of the craggy, snow covered peaks, inhaled the crisp clean air, and sadly knew we needed to move on, getting to the Idaho side before dark. The burning question was, how do I get there without reliving the horror that is Jackson? Just ask those "in the know" and they will tell you of Moose Wilson, a lesser known, two lane road starting at Moose Junction, that circumvents the clogged roads of Jackson and avoids the downtown crazies that populate that quaint, touristy town. Good to know, we were told it was also extremely scenic, so we decided to go for the shortcut. This became its own self guided tour. The irony? There was a steady line of cars very cautiously going this way, at least more than we had anticipated. Initially, that slowed us down. The secret passageway was not so secret. But you should also know that they were mostly driving quite cautiously because... about 1/3 of this "secret" roadway is entirely dirt, sometimes only wide enough to accommodate one car, with many large pit holes that will challenge your driving skills and make you think you are being trained for a professional obstacle course. Timing impeccable, as always, we had also managed to be there after a significant rain, and so...guess what...we were fording streams and dodging huge puddles that usually were not there. Still, oh cautious one, the beauty and serenity was worth it; vast open meadows, dense thickets of indigenous trees. We never saw any moose or any other wildlife other than birds and one or two deer, but based on what we passed, however, it would be extremely likely. You just need to get your timing right. Words to the wise: I would not try to pull a trailer through here nor would I wish this road on anyone at night. It is so isolated, so many trees, there is nothing to light the way except your handy dandy headlights. So get the H*** out of there before sunset, dear 21st Century Adventurer. This road is closed once winter kicks in, no surprise there.

He was also incredibly patient with our rambunctious kids, which made the experience much more enjoyable for our family. The snacks throughout the day were excellent and thoughtfully selected. The offerings ranged from blueberry muffins (which tasted like they may have come from a local bakery) to bison jerky. Sodas, tea, hot chocolate, and French press coffee were available throughout the tour. Hot drinks were served in stainless steel travel mugs, and water was provided in reusable water bottles that we got to keep--a nice touch that fit well with the company's environmental focus. Lunch was fantastic. The Mediterranean and elote salads were generous enough that we wished we had a way to take leftovers home. The mufaletta sandwich was piled with a generous amount of lunch meat and cheese. The kids also enjoued their PB& Js. The brownies were absolutely divine. We also appreciated that the meal was served in stainless steel bento boxes with real silverware rather than disposable containers, which felt very consistent with Ecotours' name and mission. I can't forget to mention the washable tablecloth and napkins. We enjoyed the viewing hatches on the vehicle. While we only had one opportunity to get close enough to wildlife to really use them, they were a fun feature. Our kids especially loved being able to see out the back windows and open them for a better view. Overall, the tour was well organized, comfortable, and family-friendly. The combination of excellent guiding, great food, thoughtful amenities, and a commitment to sustainability made it a memorable Yellowstone experience.
