Mike took our family (and tolerated our family) on a route only time would demonstrate - we went straight to deer viewing, straight to bear viewing (including, yes, a grizzly), straight to the buffalo, and learned an encyclopedia's worth in one day. He offered every bathroom and amenity stop, and made us feel comfortable in our vehicle. If you want to truly see Yellowstone, as only an expert can show it, then get up as early as you can and do the full day! You won't regret it.

We had two other guides on this trip who were considerably less expensive and who provided late model immaculate SUVs. The conditions were so bad Mountain Mike agreed the trip should be cancelled and we agreed. To add injury to insult he agreed to refund the $1,900 but has now refused to do so. If you hike counterclockwise about 2.5 miles you will get to where the boat dock arrives to go to Hidden Falls, Inspiration Point, and Cascade Canyon. If you want to not walk the extra miles you can take the boat. This is a very popular spot so go early to avoid the crowds. There is also a boat rental place there.

He was also incredibly patient with our rambunctious kids, which made the experience much more enjoyable for our family. The snacks throughout the day were excellent and thoughtfully selected. The offerings ranged from blueberry muffins (which tasted like they may have come from a local bakery) to bison jerky. Sodas, tea, hot chocolate, and French press coffee were available throughout the tour. Hot drinks were served in stainless steel travel mugs, and water was provided in reusable water bottles that we got to keep--a nice touch that fit well with the company's environmental focus. Lunch was fantastic. The Mediterranean and elote salads were generous enough that we wished we had a way to take leftovers home. The mufaletta sandwich was piled with a generous amount of lunch meat and cheese. The kids also enjoued their PB& Js. The brownies were absolutely divine. We also appreciated that the meal was served in stainless steel bento boxes with real silverware rather than disposable containers, which felt very consistent with Ecotours' name and mission. I can't forget to mention the washable tablecloth and napkins. We enjoyed the viewing hatches on the vehicle. While we only had one opportunity to get close enough to wildlife to really use them, they were a fun feature. Our kids especially loved being able to see out the back windows and open them for a better view. Overall, the tour was well organized, comfortable, and family-friendly. The combination of excellent guiding, great food, thoughtful amenities, and a commitment to sustainability made it a memorable Yellowstone experience.

He was so knowledgeable about the geological history of Yellowstone it felt like we had a walking encyclopedia with us. He treated us all with kindness and respect, which was I'm sure difficult sometimes with loud and inquisitive kids! He was patient with my 75 year old mom and accommodating when something proved too taxing. I loved how he also let us expereince things on our own too. We walked around Old Faithful just the 4 of us and a few other places too. The highlight had to be the wolf we all caught on his INCREDIBLE binocs! I seriously was blown away by how good they were! He also provided a delicious lunch for us and we enjoyed his company on our picnics. We booked Moses for two days and his van was as spotless the second day as it was the first. I was impressed after a 13-hour day, he still cleaned it all out of our dirty shoeprints and restocked the water so that we could start fresh the next day. Thank you for the incredible memories, Moses! We saw Yellowstone how it was meant to be seen in two days, and it definitely inspired us to come back and camp there to experience it even more.

Don't think that because you flew in to the Jackson hole airport that you got the full view. In my opinion, the greatest views are from the west side just above table mountain. The great thing about fly Jackson hole, is their aircraft. They are impeccably maintained, and the instructors are top notch. I especially recommend Jeff, if you can get in the plane with him, you are going to have the experience of a lifetime-I guarantee it.
