Jenny Lake visitor center is the most popular area in grand Teton National park, mainly because of all the activities that are available in around Jenny Lake. There's a massive parking lot and a big overflow parking lot next to it, but despite that, when I went on a Sunday in May, both of those parking lots were completely full and cars were parking all the way out on the main road along both sides for an extended stretch. I did end up chansing the parking lot and just circled until someone eventually was leaving, but there are always tons of cars doing that same thing so it still ends up taking quite a bit of time to find a spot. I think it took me probably about 15 minutes before I pulled up next to someone who was leaving and asked if they were leaving, and then followed them to their car. A nice thing about this visitor center area is the availability of things including a visitor education center where you can also get passport stamps and park info, as well as food and gifts. Of course, lots of people like to do water activities in the lake, including to swimming or skiing around paddle boarding, etc. You can also take the ferry shuttle from one side of the lake to the other to shorten the distance. It takes to get to popular areas, including cascade Canyon, hidden Falls, and inspiration point. The hike starting from the visitor center area near the parking lot is absolutely phenomenal though, I would highly highly recommend it. Overall, if you're visiting Grand Teton National Park, I think it's not a full trip if you don't come to this area despite the fact that it's so congested. Don't forget to bring your bear spray; I did see three bears while I was in the grand Teton and Yellowstone national Park area for four days in May, so they are definitely out and about. read more
