I wish I could have stayed longer, but I'm very grateful for the opportunity to visit. Here are a few tips based on my experience: We lodged in Victor, Idaho, which was super convenient for Grand Teton NP. It's much more affordable, and the drive was beautiful. There is so much to do at GTP--I recommend exploring the park for at least 2+ days. Here's what I recommend. Start each day early: * 5:45 AM - Schwabacher's Landing (sunrise) * 6:45 AM - Snake River Overlook * 7:30 AM - Mormon Row (barn glow) * Jenny Lake Shuttle (8-8:30 AM, $20 RT) * Hike Hidden Falls (0.5 mi, 15-20 min) * Hike Inspiration Point (0.4 mi , 20-30 min) Take a break and have lunch at Dornan's Pizza Pasta Co. After lunch, head over to String Lake (swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding). End your day at Glacier View Turnout and Mount Moran Turnout for a scenic drive along Teton Park Road.

I had snow pants on and a base layer under them and I was still cold with the heavy wind gust. The blanket helped a lot. You can purchase a blanket for $20 in the gift shop. The gift shop actually charges a responsible price for blankets. We saw a lot of Elk and a coyote during our visit which was in February. I highly recommend but don't bring small children especially when it is super cold. We had a sleigh with at least 5 chicken and 1 screamed and cried the entire time.

As gorgeous as this place looks, I found it to be a one-and-done sort of experience. It's not a place I would go out of the way to visit again, but it was nice to experience. There are other centers where I feel like there's enough content or service where I want to come back and visit again.

But I still enjoyed myself as I was surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery. I think I stopped at every overlook just to see the mountain range from different angles. My favorite spots were Oxbow Bend and Schwabacher Landing. Both places are great for viewing the sunrise. The wildlife is pretty active in the park; however, I did visit in spring when wildlife is the most active. I saw bears, moose, and bison. It was incredible. If you are into hiking, Grand Teton offers many hiking trails. Taggart Lake trail is one of the most popular ones and it is gorgeous. This is just a short review, there were many other things I enjoyed. Overall, an amazing experience.

The LSR Preserve is near Phelps Lake and has a visitor center. I like driving to the Preserve on Moose-Wilson Road because there is all sorts of wildlife and natural features to be seen. You can also hike through this area. I parked and walked all the way to the visitor center while taking in the amazing views. The trail is surrounded by a sagebrush meadow. Lake Creek flows out of Phelps Lake and is a short walk from the visitor center. The visitor center ended up being closed when I arrived. It is in a wood building and offers ranger-led programs, trail information, weather, and information on Mr. Rockefeller's vision for the Preserve. The LSR Preserve is a beautiful area and worth checking out when open.

The other way is hiking to it along Jenny Lake Trail. There are many people who take the boat over and do Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point and then leave. For this reason the first mile of trails after getting off the boat are heavily trafficked with tons of people and families. For this reason, if you do come visit Hidden Falls, I would recommend doing it early in the morning. We did the Cascade Canyon Trail around 8:30am and visited this on the way down around 11:30am and it was packed with people and kids running around so go early to avoid the crowds. The waterfall is beautiful! It's not hidden as the name would suggest since it's highly trafficked. We didn't stay long (only about a minute) because all the people and kids running around took away from the feeling of being surrounded by nature and at peace, although we are glad we went.

This review is for Hidden Falls via String Lake Trail which was a ~4.6 miles round trip that took…read more~2.5 hours to complete. This was a stunning hike from beginning to end. Another popular trail but not overly crowded near end of day. Trail was narrow and flat with a few minor inclines. There was still snow after you cross the last bridge towards the viewpoint of the waterfall but do-able without spikes. The trail does not take you up close to the waterfall but only viewable from a distance. Jenny Lake reminds me of Crater Lake in Oregon; not because of the color but due to the sheer size. Beautiful views of the Teton Range, String Lake, Jenny Lake, Hidden Falls and the surrounding area! Carry bear spray; the chances of encountering a bear is lower at popular trails but you never know. Not happy with the refund policy. Booked for winter 6 months in advance. Needed to change plans a…read moreweek later (still 6 months out), and lost $350 deposit (in Lisa's defense, I knew about the policy at time of booking). She said it was for her time...her hourly rate must be really high to send a couple emails to the vendors. I don't mind a deposit penalty, but $350 is excessive with 6 months notice, and she wouldn't even let me reapply it for a later trip. I'm not aware of any other vendor with such a punitive policy. You're better off booking this stuff yourself or choosing another place to book, which is what we will do when do head to Jackson Hole.
