In other words, this creek is gorgeous--you must see it. I came to Jackson for a retreat over the weekend with Junior League CARE Fair directors and chairpersons. Every time we left and returned to our cabin, we got to enjoy this view. We even had the opportunity to walk alongside the creek. It was very easy and the view will vanish every worry you have. There are several well made bridges that you can walk/drive over as well. Area is very clean with crisp blue water. It didn't look too deep, but it was so perfect that to even dip my feet in the water seemed offensive to mother nature. Not to say I wasn't tempted. Overall, I probably wouldn't drive 5 hours just for this one creek, but the surrounding contains so many scenic opportunities that you have to hit up this place if you're in the area. You just have to. Happy travels, my Yelpers!

Situated deep within the Gros Ventre Mountains east of Jackson and Hoback Junction, Granite Creek -…read morethe campground, the waterfall, and the hot springs - are pure Wyoming outdoors magic. Sure, the mountains here don't captivate you with their granite-tipped titillation, and there aren't the glacial lakes that you'll be mesmerized by in Grand Teton National Park, nor will you mistake this area for the magnificent Wind River Mountains, the Bighorns, or the Snowy Range, but my oh my, Granite Creek is one pretty, pretty piece of nature. The USFS campground is one of the best I've found in the northern Rockies, with great sites overlooking the creek and sheltered by pines and awash in wildflowers from mid-June to August. The Granite Creek Falls are powerful to behold: not ethereal like Yosemite or awesome like Niagra or Multnomah, but what they lack in vertical elevation and volume they make up for in up-close-and-personal intimacy. You can literally dip your toes in the raging white torrents that fall from above into a creek that is so pure and clean that moose, elk, bear, and cranes simply love to stay here. You'll also find a superb CCC hot springs up the road, where you and your friends/family can soak in bliss while enjoying easy access to the Gros Ventre wilderness a mere mile or so up the main trail that follows the creek to its source. If you are in the Jackson Hole area, a side trip to Granite Creek - on dirt and gravel roads well maintained by the Forest Service - offers you another glance at Wyoming's wild lands that you won't find at Grand Teton. The falls are a great side trip, as are the hot springs, and the campground is well suited for car campers and RVers alike. All in all, this is a part of the Cowboy State that I never tire of seeing, season in, season out. Who needs to stay in Jackson for hundreds of bucks when affordable, adorable places like this are so close and enticing?

Paid $12 per adult (prices went up slightly this year but WELL worth it in my opinion). The gentleman who runs the place was incredibly kind and lent me his personal towel as I forgot to pack my own. The water temperature was 92 degrees. The pool was quiet, only a few families and couples. Probably the most unique thing we did on our vacation. Tips: - the last 10 miles of the road is unpaved through a mountain and quite bumpy - I get motion sickness so we drove quite slowly - bring your own towel

You'll travel south from Jackson to the Hoback Junction, traffic circle 3/4 turn. Take US 191 12 miles until you reach gravel/dirt Granite Creek Road taking a left. Do not go by the Yelp address listed as it's incorrect, and I haven't been able to find the specific address. Be prepared for an 11 mile bumpy ride while viewing gorgeous Granite Creek running through the Gros Ventura Mountains in the Bridger Teton National Forest. At the end of the road Granite Springs pool awaits you. Check for current pricing before you go, only open in summer (by car) and winter (by snowmobile, skis or dog sled). Also, important to note, you'll have no cell service within this area. Soak your cares away while enjoying the gorgeous Mountain View and the evergreen forest.

We were able to get reservations through recreation.com for two consecutive nights at Lewis Lake for late Sept, 2024 about a month out -- but they were for two different sites. Location. We visited Grand Teton National Park immediately before coming into Yellowstone (YS) so, being on the southern entrance to YS, Lewis Lake was convenient for our first night in YS. However, we underestimated the size of YS, and Lewis Lake was about an hour or more from other major attractions (Old Faithful, Mammoth, canyons and waterfalls), etc). The campground is at an elevation of 7,800'. It is not lakefront, but the lake and boat ramp were only a short walking distance away. Sites. The campground is intended for vehicles 25' or under. Most of the campers while we were there were in Class B RVs or tents. The sites were quite close together, which encouraged some conversation amongst campers but trees also provided some privacy. Each site had a picnic table, fire ring (but fires weren't allowed), and a bear box. There are shared vault toilets, water spigots, and a trash receptacle. The campground doesn't have showers, a dump station, strong cell signals, nor much open sun for solar panels. Finally, park staff were friendly and efficient, and made sure to ensure that campers were aware of the need to be "bear aware." The campground was quiet. And, it was a great value at $20/night without a reservation fee. Using my husband's NPS Interagency Senior Pass brought the fee down to only $10/night.

You arrive at the campground and grab a reservation slip near the entrance and then drive around looking for an open campsite or a marker that has the current date, meaning someone will be checking out later that day (check out is at 10am). Once you get a spot, fill out the bottom portion of the reservation slip with your car information and other details about the length of your stay. Place the bottom part on the marker and drop off some chairs to visibly reserve the site. Then, drive down to the entrance and fill out the rest of the slip with information and put exact cash in the envelope before dropping it in the mailbox. We arrived close to 8:45am on a Thursday and snagged one of the very last spots. It was a bit stressful if I'm being honest as you see other cars driving around and people running around trying to get a spot before you. We stayed at site A-74 which felt fairly private. The sites include a picnic table, fire pit, and bear box. I wouldn't recommend it if you have a large vehicle as parking was tight at this particular location. Also, the area to pitch your tent was on a slight hill. There are vault toilets nearby and a spigot for potable water close to the end of the A Loop. Note, there is no cell service in this area (which is pretty much true for most of the entire park). It is somewhat a far drive from most of the main attractions in the park, but a good spot if you're coming or going to Grand Teton.

We had a nice patch of grass and fire ring (we were in spots 60 and 61, and the space between was one of the nicer ones), but some of the grassy areas weren't quite as big. The sites were definitely a bit cramped, but no better or worse than most of the bigger RV parks we've stayed at close to busy destinations. The bathrooms were always clean when we used them, and we ran into the cleaners on a few different occasions so they were taking care of things. We were able to recycle, which is great -- not all campgrounds offer that. We were 7-10 minutes outside of Jackson, which was great for us. There's a bike/running path that runs through most of Jackson that's right across the road, and that was nice for a safe place to run in the mornings. It was expensive, but we've found that all things are in Jackson, and we liked the quiet atmosphere here and the proximity to both town and the Tetons. The only thing we wished they had told us was that North Moose Wilson Road is closed to RVs and trailers from a bit north of the campground to the park. We came from Yellowstone, so that was the route that our GPS wanted to take us, and it isn't a possibility with a trailer. We have a little teardrop camper (T@B Little Guy) so we were able to turn around easily to go the long way instead, but our friends with a larger RV had trouble turning around. I feel like that should be something they communicate to you when you are reserving an RV spot.

I CANNOT EXPRESS ENOUGH HOW THE CAMP HOST WAS SO VERY RUDE! The grounds were fine, but the incident…read morethat occurred at Juniper Campground in Ririe, Idaho, on the evening of Saturday, September 13, 2025 left a very bitter taste in our mouths about the trip. What was intended to be a joyful family outing turned into a distressing experience due to the conduct of the camp host. My father-in-law and his wife had made a reservation at Juniper Campground for the weekend and invited my family to join them--myself, my two sons, and our grandchildren. We were all excited to spend quality time together and to try out our newly purchased travel trailers. As first-time trailer owners, this was meant to be a fun and educational experience before the camping season ended. Unfortunately, I had previously purchased concert tickets for an event at Mountain America Center in Idaho Falls scheduled for Saturday evening. My sons and I decided to briefly leave the campground to attend the concert and return afterward. We left in the early evening and returned around 10:20 PM. Upon arrival, we found the second entry gate--through which we had originally entered--locked with a padlock. We then drove to the first gate, which had rising arms and red LED lights, but it did not respond. I exited the vehicle to search for an intercom or manual override, but found none. While attempting to look up a contact number, a white truck with an orange cone in the back approached rapidly. The driver, who identified himself as the camp host, immediately confronted me in an aggressive and profane manner. He shouted, "What the hell are you doing at my gate?" I calmly explained that we were campers returning from a concert and were trying to re-enter the campground. He responded with hostility, saying, "The gates are locked at 10 PM. Didn't you read the rules?" I replied that we had not received any rules, as my 78-year-old father-in-law had checked in first and inadvertently failed to pass them along while we were focused on setting up our trailers. The host continued to berate me, accusing me of lying and using profanity such as "Bullsh*t, everybody receives the rules." When asked for our campsite number, I was momentarily unsure, as my father-in-law had directed us to our spot upon arrival. While I searched for the information, the host continued to question our motives, saying, "Why are you leaving and returning to the campsite this time of night?" I explained our concert plans, only to be met with further disbelief and ridicule. He mocked my Van Halen t-shirt and claimed, "Nobody goes camping to leave for a concert," and "Those bands sucked. The last time I saw Van Halen was in 1979." At this point, I attempted to clarify our situation, but the host warned me that if I raised my voice, he would not allow us back into the campground. After locating a screenshot of our reservation details, I showed it to him. He finally allowed us entry and handed me a printed copy of the rules, stating, "Next time, read the rules." This interaction left me feeling humiliated, belittled, and treated as though I were a criminal. The camp host's behavior was not only unprofessional but bordered on harassment. I understand the importance of rules and quiet hours, but they should be enforced with courtesy and respect--not hostility and profanity. I am deeply disappointed by this experience and will not be returning to Juniper Campground. I'm leaving this review to ensure others are aware of the treatment we received. Guests deserve to feel safe and welcomed--not intimidated or verbally abused.
