The camp is great though definitely expect rustic accommodations with the exception of the beds, which are (heavenly) real mattresses. The horses and ride were great - very well-mannered horses and a wonderful evening ride through wildflower-filled mountain meadows, creeks, and up and down reasonably challenging terrain. What my daughter (and I) loved most were the people - Sam was a great cook and friendly guide and our other guide Mariah was incredibly patient with my daughter's barrage of questions and let her help put away tack and feed the horses after the ride. A truly memorable Wyoming experience with many great memories.

The trail ride was such an adventure for this Texas girl who's use to riding on flat ground! The fireside dinner was excellent and the beds are comfortable. It was nice not to have to set up a tent once getting to the campground, everything is ready for you! There is a convenience store closeby if you end up needing anything. It's also just down the road from the entrance to Yellowstone so it's easy to make this horseback riding adventure one of the stops on your trip! The horse "stables" are located several miles down a dirt road off of the main road so be prepared to drive slow and have your GPS map downloaded ahead of time because you will lose signal. We opted for the 2 hour ride which costs $114 if paying by credit card or $100 if paying by cash. The staff help you get onto the horse and provide basic directions on how to start and stop. I was a little worried about this since I've only ridden one other time but luckily the horses are all very well trained and essentially just follow the guide horse on their own. The experience overall was nice, with the path winding through stream beds and through the woods. I would not say that it had awe inspiring views or surroundings though. At the turn around point the guide got off of his horse and took photos of each of the groups with the mountain view in the background which was nice. I will say that the staff didn't feel that friendly. As we were waiting to leave, one of the women stated that she hoped that wouldn't have to get off of her horse to take photos of the guests. Also our guide, while making conversation with one of the guests on our ride mentioned several stories about annoying guests - girls "in their western era" putting on makeup while on the horse and women trying to pick him up. Trust me, I get that tourists can be annoying but this business is quite literally catering to tourists. It didn't make us feel very welcome. Finally, I'm by no means a horse expert, but as some of the other reviewers mentioned, all of the horses are tied up, saddled, in the direct sun, until they are pulled for a ride. It felt confined, with a lack of freedom for the horses.

If you care even a little about animal welfare, you will immediately notice that something feels wrong when you arrive. This place feels like a tourist machine rather than an authentic ranch experience. Dozens of horses are lined up, already saddled, and spend the day tied up waiting for the next group. There are no real pastures around. The horses that are not tied are kept in small pens, with no grass and far too many horses in a limited space. As an experienced rider, I was extremely disappointed by the ride itself. We paid $260 for an experience that was advertised on their website as a way to see wildlife. This was the main reason we chose this company. After only five minutes on horseback, I asked our guide what animals we might have the chance to see. His answer was very honest but incredibly disappointing: he told us we would probably see nothing because the trails are used dozens of times every day and animals avoid the area. Ironically, we saw a moose and a weasel less than a mile from the ranch on the road. The "Big View Grand Teton" ride ($140 per person) is honestly just a basic out-and-back trail. You start in a completely flat open area, then do a short climb through the forest to reach a mediocre viewpoint, before going back down through almost the exact same scenery. The entire ride is at a walk. No one asked about our riding experience; horses were simply assigned when we arrived based on our height. Of course, the whole ride was at a slow walk, which made the experience incredibly boring for anyone who actually knows how to ride. For the price, the scenery was not memorable, the experience was not authentic, and the promise of seeing wildlife was completely misleading. If you are looking for a true Western horseback experience, go somewhere else. Stay at a real ranch for a night or more, and you will have the opportunity to ride for several hours through much more beautiful and varied landscapes, while supporting places where horses have a better quality of life. This place was a huge disappointment and, in our opinion, not representative of what a real ranch experience should be. It is truly a shame to see that, in 2026, some establishments are still treating horses this way. These animals deserve much better than being treated as a simple tourist attraction.

There was a ridge with an amazing view. We saw a small heard of elk running through the woods. We saw an eagle and an osprey. There were a couple of steep climbs (always fun on a horse). We got up to a trot a couple of times. Our legs were a bit stiff after the ride but not sore the next day. It was perfect! The horses are wonderful, each with their own personalities. They had just the right amount of spirit. And they were very responsive to your lead. Josie was our trail boss (guide) and she was absolutely amazing. She explained everything thoroughly. She made everything fun. She took amazing care of us. She knows that property like the back of her hand. And she's as amazing with horses as she is with people. My friend and his family have ridden here nine times already and I'm so glad they recommended it. It's a lifelong memory.

One of the guides was struggling with the horse he was on. It was doing circles while he was on the highway waiting for others to cross. Once everyone had crossed and he was on the dirt, he proceeded to hit his horse several times in the neck, which appeared to be with a lot of force. We were appalled and this type of abuse to this horse should never happen. I suggest you terminate this employee or take any necessary action. What we witnessed was awful and I hope this isn't typical of the way your Ranch treats these beautiful animals.

I will say, going back down the mountain was a bit scary because my horse (shoutout to Gray) did not like going down the rocks and would stop to analyze the path. He was good overall. I would definitely recommend doing this while in the area.
