Over 10 years later, the clear coat came off in some areas and the paint started peeling pretty bad. Fortunately I kept all my paperwork because they were quick to ask for it when I made the call back. I had to go in so they could inspect it. Being near Katy now, this wasn't a leisurely drive over. Long story short, they repainted only where the clear coat failed and not everything they originally fixed. So it looks like I have a brand new hood and fenders but the front bumper looks like its 10 years old. Not entirely happy but I don't have time to complain as the truck was sold. They did match the paint pretty well but I did find some tiny flaws in the paint. Overall I think the work was acceptable minus the half-ass warranty coverage. Keep your paperwork.

I called for an appointment at Byrd and brought my truck in this morning. I ask for a front and rear brake job, to rotate my tires and perform an all wheel alignment and to check the rear tire for a slow leak. These folks are true professionals. They informed me that I had 40% and 60% of my front and rear brakes pads remaining, (the truck has 82K mikes on it) and therefore I did not need brakes at this time. They rotated the tires and put the truck on the alignment machine. They told me no alignment adjustment was required. I expected to pay for the hours of work that was done to check my vehicle. I got the bill and was surprised that $0.00 amount was due. I actually challenged Tim and said i needed to pay something. He said no all they had done was a complimentary inspection. I appreciate honesty. when they could have followed my directions and replaced all the brakes and on top of that charged me for an alignment. Wow ...they are some honest folks. I got a quote from Caliber Collision and the price difference was shocking! As it turns out Milstead is a much better equipped body shop because they had the technicians and equipment on hand and did not need to hire anyone out to do recalibrations for the sensors on my bumper which that alone saved me $400-600. To top it off they offered a courtesy car wash and interior vacuum which I wasn't at all expecting. Thank you Milstead for going totally out of your way to serve your customer.
