We reached out to LIVunLtd Concierge, who services our building, to arrange a handyman to assist us with a variety of move-in tasks (e.g., installing a pull-out trash can under our sink, pull-out drawers in our lower cabinets, additional shelving; hang artwork). LIVunLtd connected us with Andrew Shogan, VP, Spotless Services, to discuss the scope of the work while [Liv] handled all of the administrative paperwork for our building's management team. Andrew's responses were friendly and prompt -- even on a Sunday -- and he scheduled his handyman, Derrick, to perform the requested tasks within several days of our introduction. Derrick was punctual (he buzzed our apartment at 10:01am for our 10:00am appointment), was thoughtful in his work (he offered excellent suggestions when I was undecided about the placement of certain items), troubleshot issues (like when we discovered that The Container Store -- or I -- had calculated the wrong length for the Elfa Easy Hang Standards), and maintained a genuinely friendly demeanor over the course of 7 solid hours of work (despite working straight through lunch). He took his time with meticulous tasks, but I never once got the sense that he was lingering. I was in need of floor tile installation and on a tight time line since it was a surprise for my wife while she was away. Well Richard and Andrew got right to business. They got the required insurance quickly to my building management. Then on the eve of my installation, after 5pm, the super of my building mentioned in an email that new tile installation requires a waterproof substance under the tile. Andrew jumped right in and made the arrangements so that the installation continued right on schedule. Wayne did a nice job with the installation of the floor tile. They arrived on time and provided a great service. We did a deep clean for one couch and two loveseats and Keven removed stains, dust, crumbs, etc. The couches look brand new now and everyone was very kind and honest about pricing. It was a bit pricey, but worth the money. I would give them 4.5 stars, only because some excess water got on the living room floor; not sure the towels provided were the most absorbent. 2-3 yrs later after a so-so job I learned that in addition to not installing the tiles properly (I just wanted to use my shower again!), that the grout was not sealed properly - which has now accumulated in my drain and blocking the water almost completely. This was in addition to me pointing out some rather obvious imperfections in the job. I guess you get what you pay for on the installation, but the improper sealing just sucks. I've reached out to the individual who quoted me last night, but I still have no response - I think my odds are close to 0 on any response given the lapse in time. read more

i was in desperate need to get my portable air conditioner installed. my window is not an average size window - about 14 inches wide and 10 inches big, so finding a window tool kit to fit it was pretty impossible. I spoke with the VP named Andrew, and he was so accommodating!! He basically told me they could come at any day, any time, and help me with anything. what better service can you get than that ?!?! i thought the handyman would have to run to home depot to customize my window, but he ended up just cutting the window toolkit to fit the small gap.
