If I could get this place no stars I would. I asked him for the most simple zipper replacement on my coat and explicitly said that I wanted a metal zipper like I previously had. I went to go pick it up and it had a plastic zipper that was not even lined up with the coat correctly. There was literally 2 inches of zipper slack at the bottom of the coat. And the man knew it too when he showed it to me, but he tried to charge me anyway. If you know that the workmanship is not right why would you let the customer walk out with the coat???? I told him to fix it and when I came back, it had the same shitty zipper and they didn't even clean it- which I paid for. I didn't even want to argue with him. The work was average. No raves and no complaints. However when living in a small area of Brooklyn I like knowing my nail people, my corner store guy and my dry cleaner. No matter how many times I went the woman didn't give me any type of kindness, warmth or even try to fake like she remembered me. Literally I think she only would state the price and date. I would give it a negative review if I could. Was very nervous to bring my beloved silk blouse here. And I should have listened to the reviews. They ruined my shirt, and refused to believe me. I brought it for a few small armpit/deodorant marks. And it came back with huge patches of dos colored silk. Destroyed and can never wear it again. This was an okay place for basic dry cleaners. I rated them 4 stars. They changed owners earlier in 2014 and are now called New Spotless Cleaners. I can't find a link to write about a different business, so I will add this to my other review. I was not altogether sad when Spotless Cleaners was taken over by new management. But now I miss them. They were never anywhere you could take anything but basic dry cleaning. But the new management, while offering an inviting introductory discount, leads a crew who is even more unskilled. Since the new owners were/are having the discount, I thought why not take advantage of it for my cold weather clothes before I stored them. I usually wash all my silk by hand and thought it would be nice to have a professional cleaning to spruce them up a bit. What a mistake! Silk twill scarf with metallic thread border: This was the last item I brought to them. I should have known something was wrong when the guy at he desk tried to tell me I would shrink my SILK scarf if I tried to wash it myself. Only an ignorant would believe that nonsense! I should have taken my scarf back and run for the door. It was new when I wore it and it had wrinkled in the middle a lot from wearing it and tying it into the knots I usually use. It was a heavy silk twill herringbone knit with metallic thread on the borders. When I got it back, I noticed the metallic thread border looked puckered. I took a look under the bag and saw that the smooth knit finish was also puckered, as though they held it over a big steam pit for a long time, then ironed with something that had a lot of holes in it. I was aghast and opened it all the way, to find that they had made more wrinkles in the middle. But now it was all very severe because of whatever they did to it. They had trashed my fancy scarf, when it should have been easy enough to do the right way. The same desk guy I had dropped it off with was who gave it back to me. I asked what had they done to my scarf. He said it was difficult to work with and every time they tried to iron it, the wrinkles snapped back. Then he said some garbage about I should "remember" the last time I bought it there. I was outraged and blew at him him it was brand new, worn 3 or 4 times and had never been cleaned OR ruined before. Before I could really go off at him, he shoved my money back towards me and said if I wasn't happy, he would not take my money. Well, that was decent of him, all $3 of it, and really was all he could do. But now what do I do with my wrecked $150 scarf? I could kick myself for not washing and ironing it myself, because I DO know how to do it. It is in such bad shape now, I have to try to take it somewhere where they can restore it! That might cost as much as what I paid for it. Alarmed, I checked the other items I had taken to them, which were still hanging in their bags. They all had a faint, strange odor, not of dry cleaning solvent but something else. Maybe it's something on the mangle--Kind of a musty smell. I am hoping that thorough airing will get rid of it so I don't have to have everything cleaned again. None of these items smelled like this when I brought them in. They included what I'm mentioning and a long wool scarf and wool winter coat. They totally blew it in the following ways too: Smooth silk scarf: weird ironing that left scarf with a texture it did not have before. It was also SEVERELY creased into 4ths and hung on a sticky hanger, which was impossible to remove without lifting some of the threads. Linen jacket: While I do give credit for not creasing sleeves, it was just so wrong. It was ironed so that the left underarm sleeve seam was on top, where the shoulder should be. The right side was done correctly. Is it the dry cleaning fumes? They say they are green cleaners but I get dizzy every time I go in there. Why are they so incompetent? I am writing this, not just because I got burned on my cleaning, but because the desk guy made me very angry, trying to tell me B.S. twice. And these are Chinese people from China, where silk cloth was invented. How can they call themselves professional dry cleaners and not know what to do with silk? So I guess they are no longer even good for basic dry cleaning now. Or have they just gone volume-crazy? They are much more busy than they ever have been. It looks like they have a big shirt business there. Maybe that's what they should focus on. Never again for me! read more

After using Spotless for 2 years because they're almost the only game in the neighborhood, we are searching for a new place. They consistently do sloppy work (dirt on collars, poorly pressed shirts) and lost several of my husband's shirts. They're "winter hours" are very limited and are undefined. When asked, we were told they'll end in June! We no longer trust them with our clothes. Only use them if you don't care if an item is ruined or unwearable when it's returned to you. read more

I picked up my dress and wool coat yesterday from the cleaners and was surprised that they did not smell like chemicals. They did a good job with getting all the pills from my coat, but not until i got home did i realize that the belt for my coat was missing. they were happy to have me back to check through "alot of belts" they have there. i do agree with the music begin played every time you walk it. its like they're having a party, but no one is dancing. read more

I have been going there for years and they have been consistently good. Never really had any issues with them. Just the other day I dropped off 4 of my husband's very expensive dress pants. The original receipt had all the correct information, amount of pants, phone number, etc. Within the few days after dropping the pants off, amidst the craziness of life I lost the receipt. I go to pick up the pants and I'm handed over 3 pairs with the wrong receipt attached to them. I tell the lady that those are not mine. She insists that they are. I tell her that I dropped off 4 pairs and not 3. She insists that I only dropped off 3. I inspect the pants, and they are my husband's, but where are the 4th pair? At this point I'm confused and the lady behind the counter is making me second guess myself (bad move lady). I take the pants home and my husband confirms that a pair are missing and we know exactly which pair. I return the next day and confront the lady about my missing pants and she pretty much tells me in so many words that I must be losing my mind. I went back several times and each time they refused to look for my pants or reimburse me. I'm done with them. I am now using Tri Parkway Cleaners right up the block. Don't know why I haven't used them before, because they are excellent. read more

Three strikes equals a negative Yelp rating. First time I dropped off laundry, I asked for no products other than the detergent I was leaving. I was told fine, got my laundry back and it smelled strongly of fragrant chemicals, which I'm guessing was softener. Trip 2: same request and specifically said NO bleach, NO softener. Was told it was doable. Pickup and I got not only perfume smelling clothes but my clothes were all damp!! Final Strike: think we got the NO other products down but my clothes were covered in lint and I have to redo them all. I had a bag, separate from my clothes, of towels and sheets. I'm guessing they threw them all into the same large washer and/or dryer. Separation: This is laundry 101!! I'm going suck it up and do it myself from now on. read more

I first went to this dry cleaner because it was big and new, and they did everything on location. They did a great job for me the first couple of years but the quality has fallen considerably. The last three times I dropping of things to be laundered or dry cleaned, they never actually completed my clothing on time as agreed. Getting clothes on time is actually something I took for granted prior to this experience. And I am not just talking about a day late. And there was very little transparency as to why things were not done. The final straw was when I dropped of items for my wife and I and they had no idea where most of the articles of clothing were. My wife had to go into the back to look for her cloths. Additionally, a suit that I had dropped off to be cleaned was not tagged. It was sitting in limbo until I told them they completely forgot to return my suit. Perhaps one day they will get their act together again, until that day, I am looking for another cleaner. read more
