Also got my ASUs done there. They pin everything and make sure your boards are right. PRICE It adds up. I had a very frustrating experience with this shop. I dropped off both an Air Force dress uniform and an Army AGSU, each with their own accouterments properly bagged as instructed. When I picked them up, the Army uniform had Air Force ribbons placed on it, and the actual Army ribbons were missing entirely. When I brought this to their attention, instead of taking responsibility, the owner immediately dismissed the issue and claimed they would never make that mistake, placing the blame on me. The way this was communicated was disrespectful and lacked basic customer service. There was no attempt to understand or resolve the situation professionally. They did offer to replace the missing ribbons, but even then the attitude remained poor. After I wrote down exactly what was missing, the owner handed me the ribbons in a bag and said, "I'm not putting them together." This is despite the fact that I had already paid for the placement of accouterments. It felt like because they specialize in military uniforms, they believe customers have no other option and can be spoken to however they want. That kind of approach is unacceptable. Attention to detail and professionalism matter, especially when handling service uniforms. I would not recommend this business based on both the lack of accountability and how it was handled. read more

This is the first time, and last time, I use this establishment. I brought two suits, expensive ones at that, to have cleaned and pressed. One came back as if it was pressed by a child, the other ripped out the entire hem in one of the pant legs. I called to voice my displeasure to one of the owners (brothers) and received a half-hearted apology and an offer to bring them back. No offer of we will come and pick them up and deliver them when done/fixed, no, come back and be inconvenienced! Unacceptable! I asked where is the quality control measures here? How do you miss a hem completely removed from a pants leg? He said he is a "high volume" cleaner and these things are somehow missed. Sorry, not good enough. I brought 2 cashmere scarves here to be dry cleaned. I got them back with holes throughout each of them. The scarves had no holes in them when I dropped them off. If there had been any holes in them when I dropped them off, the workers would have noticed and I'd ask for them to be repaired too along with the dry cleaning. When I called the owner he said that moths must have got them and there is nothing at their business that would have caused the holes. He was very condescending. I will never return there and suggest you go elsewhere. read more

The people working in the cleaners are nice and friendly, but their machines need to be serviced/cleaned/replaced. I rushed for work one-day wearing clothes that they just cleaned and they smelled musty and mildewy. I didn't notice until I finally got to my desk from commuting and took off my jacket. After explaining this over the phone they said that they would clean them again free of charge explaining that they most likely did not dry properly (I also brought other clothes they serviced to be re-cleaned as they had an odor as well). After taking the clothes home they had the same odor so nothing was done differently. I would like to go back one day whenever they correct the problem with the equipment. read more

I've been using this shop for almost 7 years now. They're across the street from Ft. Hamilton, so the majority of their business is military/government. They do a very good job at dry cleaning and alterations. They seem to be open all the time and the guys have very reasonable rates. I drive over 30 blocks to use them and I've never really had any problems with them. Nothing gets lost. Everything gets done on time and it's good quality. What else would you want? I brought my new white trench coat and white pants to be cleaned here. When I picked them up, they looked like an off-white color. They told me that they have ink in their lines and can't control the color of white that occurs when cleaning. They attempted to clean the items a second time but could not remove the "ink." So many other places claim they can do the work, but I had proof they cannot. 99th Street Cleaners is way out of my way, about two-hours out of my way, but they are a one-day service and they are the best for military standard! I never learn with trying others, so I always end up making the drive to Brooklyn just to get the work fixed by these professionals. There are many reasons why I am writing this review. First, they were open at 7:00 in the morning, so I was able to drop off my item before going to work. I was able to pick up my item the very next day and it was done! Finally, and I realize that this will only be unique to my situation, he did not charge me for the dry cleaning. I had to have an American flag dry cleaned- it was neglected somewhat and very, very dusty. When I handed him my 20 dollars, he told me, "We never charge for cleaning flag." I tried to leave him a tip, and he refused. I also said, "Take it for someone who needs it, you never know." He humbly declined my money. This place is doing a monopoly business although being an unofficial military tailor place. Please look for NEX tailors. I went to pick up my uniform. they guy (most likely the owner) stated he can't accept cards as the machine is not working. I didn't bring cash didn't even think that I have to keep cash for a tailor shop! I had to look for a local ATM to cash out to pay him with additional fees. Which was very inconvenient for any customer specially if you don't know the area at all. The guy was overall a rude person who stated ''its not my fault that the machine is broke. I am not suppose to take card, cards are for customer convince to pay. if you had to pay extra fees to cash out that's not problem. Its customers responsibilities to pay me, how? that's not up to me!'' I didn't respond to him anything as because I am military personnel and don't want to disrespect anyone. I gave them a brand new white blazer that fell on the floor and had a huge black dirt mark on it. They were able to get 98% of it out. There's still a smug left but you have to look very hard to see it. It's also inside the blazer so it's not so bad. They got the job done quickly and it was ready for pick up the next day. Not expensive at all only $4 for a blazer was good for me. I have yet to go there again. Will update once I try them again. read more
