Thai iced coffee

Quaint little Thai restaurant but there's actually a decent amount of seating inside and the outside patio. Seems to be a family business so I'm glad I could support. The cashier/waitress had her cute daughter and grandma sitting while she worked. I got a Thai iced coffee which was good. For dinner, I got the chicken pad see eew which came out super fast within minutes but was so fresh and yummy. It was mixed with American and Chinese broccoli. It was a big portion so I really couldn't finish it. Prices were very reasonable. Great find for Thai food near my hotel.

Really wanted to try the Tom Yum Omurice but they were sold out. Still had a great meal! Fried chicken on fried rice, the chicken was moist with a crispy crust. Great flavors! Loved the Thai iced coffee

New management, same name. The new owner rushed back from Bangkok for the opening of the restaurant in mid-Sept. I have been back a couple of times and really enjoyed the food. There were some issues at soft opening but is to be expected. I haven't seen it yet but owner was planning on opening for breakfast soon, if not already. Tried the Pad See Ew, Pad Krapow, and a green curry. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. I like that there is outdoor seating to enjoy the nice Peninsula weather. Hope this place sticks around because it's really good.

Came on a weekend for lunch right at opening. No wait. Plenty of parking in the lot. The owners are also from Thailand! They have a cute little patio space with heaters. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. We ordered the lunch special which is a decent deal where you get a small portion of an appetizer, noodles, and Thai tea. Definitely recommend it if you are getting Thai tea. Pad Thai 5/5 Super flavorful and delicious. Some of the best pad thai I've had in the peninsula! Pad see ew 4/5 Also delicious and decent wok flavor. But not the best I've ever had. Highly recommend this place for Thai on the peninsula. I'm definitely coming back for the pad thai!

Small, cozy place with nice fresh lighting and a really open layout. They have an open kitchen which is always cool you can watch them making your food right there. Came with a group of 10 and they were able to accommodate us no problem, which is always appreciated for larger parties. We ordered the creamy tom yum goong with Thai omelet, Thai grilled pork skewers, crispy golden fish, and pad kee mao. The food was decent overall. The standout for me was the tom yum flavor with the omelet that combination was very yummy and something a little different. The portions were solid for what you're paying, and everything came out fresh. For a spot that can handle a big group, serve up good Thai food, and keep the vibe relaxed and comfortable, the value is there. It's not trying to be fancy, just quality Thai dishes done well in a nice atmosphere. Would definitely come back, especially if I'm with a group and need a spot that can accommodate without sacrificing the quality of the food or experience

Shrimp tom yung goong omurice

I came here on a weekday morning at 9am. I ordered the Tom yum goong omurice. I didn't know what omurice is so I was excited to try something new. It was your basic Thai flavors as the name suggests, not far off from a red curry, with rice, scrambled eggs, and some other things of which there could have been more. Nothing that knocked my socks off but I think they earn 5 stars by being an ethnic restaurant open for breakfast. Hard to get anything this flavorful before 11am, and I've always wanted to have these kind of options available at breakfast time, or maybe some other ethnic food I've never heard of.

I had a wonderful dinner here and can't stop thinking about it. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting vibes.

This restaurant has has its own parking lot. They have indoor and outdoor dining. We walked up to the counter to place and pay for our order. We ordered the Thai Iced Tea, Chicken Pad Thai, Gai Yang, and Larb Pork Salad. Our food came out in a timely manner. The cashier brought the food to our table. The Thai Iced Tea had the perfect amount of sweetness to it. We can taste sweetness and sourness of the tamarind in the Pad Thai sauce. The dressing for the pork larb salad was very tart. They put too much lime juice. The chicken in the Gai Yang was tender, but there was nothing really special about it.

Spoon and Fork in Belmont is officially my new brunch obsession. This spot blends Thai flavors with classic brunch comfort, and every dish was a hit. Ordered the S&F Chickoissant (crispy chicken + buttery croissant = perfection), the Creamy Tom Yum Goong Omurice (silky omelet in a rich, tangy tom yum sauce -- SO good), the refreshing Avo Caprese, and the Thai Banoffee French Toast, which is basically dessert heaven. Plates come out beautifully presented, flavors are bold but balanced, and the space is bright, modern, and super photogenic. Service was warm and attentive, too. If you're looking for a unique breakfast/brunch in the Bay, this place deserves a spot on your list. I'll absolutely be back!

Lovely breakfast spot! The avo carese with mozzarella and cherry tomatoes was so fresh and delicious Monkey Morning pancakes topped with bananas and berries were perfectly Yummy. Sunrise Tom yum scramble Everything looked beautiful and tasted even better. The staffs are very nice and good service A refreshing, feel-good start to the day!

Pleasantly surprised by this place. My husband and I tried the basil beef and chicken pad Thai and both dishes were amazing, we'll be back to try more items next time we are in the area. The service here is also very friendly and the food was ready so quickly, but it was hot and fresh.

The food was incredible. It looked good and the flavors were wonderful. I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is a bit plane. Plenty of outside seating. Service was pleasant and friendly but soso.i would definitely eat here again.

Special menu: We got the Stir fried crispy pork belly over rice which was a harmonious flavor. Rice was hard, though.

I have been to Kajiken twice now, and it has been absolutely delicious each time. It is located in downtown San Mateo, so it does not have its own dedicated parking lot. If you come on the weekend, it can be harder to find parking, and the likelihood of a wait is high. When it gets busy, there is a section outside for you to line up. The servers typically come out to the folks closest to the front of the line and hand them menus so they can decide what they want before being seated. When it is not as busy, you can walk in directly and request a table. The shop itself actually has a lot of seating, but there is always an influx of people, so it fills up quickly. The interior gives off a nice modern Japanese chic vibe. :) They also offer outdoor patio seating, which is great if you are trying to enjoy a nice day outside. I have tried both their Wagyu Roast Beef Aburasoba and their Soboro Aburasoba. The roast beef is tender and adds a nice chew against the silky noodles, while the soboro chicken is juicy and coats your mouth with a savory soy flavor. Additionally, I've had their karaage on both occasions I visited, and it was succulent! I love how the juice from the chicken balances with the generous amount of grated ginger and green onion. This place is definitely worth a try! If you can go on a weekday before the dinner rush from people getting off their 9-5 jobs, that would probably be the optimal time frame. We've tasted several places (including ones in Burlingame), but haven't found a decent option. Price-wise with tax, these frozen dumplings ends up being about 79 cents each, consistently priced with the other locations we frequent. There's an offer Buy 10 bags get 1 free. We bought: chicken and corn, shrimp with green chives, pork with cabbage. The skin on the dumpling wrappers were inconsistent- some were thin which broke thru during cooking, while others were thicker. That was one of the major issues - at least 2 per bag were broken after cooking. Also, the wrappers didn't have a consistent bite/chewiness (or QQ if you're Chinese) that makes a great dumpling. The filling was okay - not extremely generous. The meat ones had a distinct 5-Spice powder seasoning. It was interesting the Shrimp with green chive dumplings did not have pork - it's just shrimp, chive and egg, even though they call it 三鮮 (3 delicacies). Was hoping to find a closer alternative, so gave Li's frozen dumplings a try. But it's still worth it to drive a bit away for dumplings that are more consistent. .
