This is the little breakfast café located on the first floor of the Timbri hotel. It's open to hotel guests but also others who come in off the street. They have a selection of different coffees, teas, espressos, lattes, smoothies, and food options, like muffins, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, and fruit cups. Unfortunately, their prices are exorbitant. The hotel provides guests (at least when I was staying there) $10 off to use anywhere on the property each day of the hotel stay. I usually used this money each morning at Spoke Cafe but when a single breakfast sandwich and a premade blended smoothie cost $25, saving $10 off that doesn't make much sense. It's a typical situation where the hotel knows that guests will pay the price, no matter what it is, so they can get away with it. As far as the actual taste, the breakfast sandwich I got one day had a preformed egg patty that was almost gelatinous and far too thick, making its texture pretty unappealing. What truly does hurt their business is that most mornings there was only one person running the entire café. Meaning this person was taking orders, preparing the food, but then also having to make each latte or coffee order for each customer. Often the line grew to more than 10 people waiting to order. They would be wise to hire another person to assist in the mornings because there were some days that I just didn't have the time to wait in line for 30+ minutes. Spoke Cafe calls themselves fast-casual, I just wish it was a little more of both. read more
