Wow! I loved this brunch! It was the perfect vibe for a trip out with the fam after a night out with the girls! Did they say brunch appetizers? Because I'm all the way in! From the cool art painted in the window to the chewy ice in the water this place had my heart! We had French toast dippers, street corn hush puppies (10/10), and I had a hash! All of the food was delicious and the servings were appropriate. The service was great. There was a wait but shorter than we were expecting! I met my friend here today for brunch! The restaurant is a bit narrow and there isn't much space to wait to be seated, but I love that they have seating available near the large window in the front, as well as outside. We arrived at around 11:50am and we were seated after only waiting a few minutes. We were able to place our orders within five minutes of being handed our menus, and that was really nice because we were both very hungry. We both opted for the All In Breakfast which included two eggs your way, a choice of bacon or sausage, a choice of french toast or waffles, and a choice of fruit, hash browns, or fries. I ordered scrambled eggs with cheddar, bacon, french toast, and fries. The eggs were farm fresh, which I appreciated, but they were also incredibly salty. The bacon was fantastic, but the french toast was not the best that I've had, as it appeared to have too much cinnamon, which seemed to result in a bit of a gritty texture. The fries were really good, but I didn't have a ton of room for them after I finished my eggs, bacon, and french toast. The customer service was superb. We were served by Chloe, who informed us that she typically works in the kitchen, but we never would have guessed based on how attentive she was! The food here is always very delicious, but definitely costly. All of this was about $50, and would've been more if I hadn't noticed they incorrectly charged me more for the already expensive hushpuppies (about $3 more). We had to wait about 30 minutes just to be seated even though we saw multiple empty tables. When we finally were seated, it took about the same amount of time to get our food. The food was phenomenal, but just be expecting to have to wait a bit for the food and pay the price. Overall, I am a returning customer and love the creativity of the menu! read more

This is a cool funky eclectic restaurant space. Super clean and airy. The staff of this establishment are very friendly and eager to help. The house bar serves craft beers and spirits, I am very partial to the Kolsch ... a light German style beer with a slight bitter finish. We arrived during happy hour and ordered wings In barbecue sauce with side veggies & dip. We only ordered 6 but these wings are on point. Especially with the beer. This was my second visit and I would recommend the fried cauliflower appetizer. I went with the Detroit Style pie. We did half turkey sausage, pepperoni and half mushroom. The pie came to the table looking beautiful. I hate to say this because I really like what these folks are trying to do but the pie was lukewarm. This is a very cute small brunch spot in York. Got the "Garbage" biscuit, which was doesn't fit the name because it was absolutely precious and delicious! With the biscuit, gravy, pulled pork, and hash brown, I thought it was going to be too salty and heavy but it was right on the money! All of the elements of the dish complimented each other very well and simply worked! The Berries and Cream Biscuit was very good too! It was very light and you can tell the cream was homemade, which means it's not overly sweet! It helps that the berries were fresh and sweet too! Went to this place for the first time, on a Sunday morning. We arrived about 9:30am. It was already quite busy, but we were seated within a few minutes. The menu is basically biscuits or skillet cornbread with hash browns on top & then a variety of toppings, depending on what you ordered. I got The Alamo & coffee. It tasted really good, could have been slightly hotter in my opinion. The waitress came over several times to check on us & serve more coffee. The only downsides were it felt quite chilly inside, yes I know, I went in the month of February, but it would be nice if there was better heating at this time of year. Finding local brunch out on a Saturday morning was tougher than I thought it would be. There aren't a lot of places in my area that are open for breakfast on a Saturday that aren't diners. Yelp helped me stumble on Roost and, oh em gee, am I ever so grateful to have such an amazing little joint near me. I've been to Roost 5 or 6 times now and I keep wanting to try different things on their menu but the things I've had so far make it difficult to deviate from what I know I love. Everything I've had has been amazingly delicious: Garbage Biscuit, Old School Benedict, Chicken and Waffles, the Leaning Tower of Waffles, Milk and Honey Biscuits, and the Cluck You Sandwich (only available during the week). I guess I have tried a good bit of the menu. There are still some things on my list to try. Worth noting: Get some Milk and Honey biscuits no matter what else you order. They're amazing, and the little chunk of local honeycomb that comes with them makes this stratospherically amazing. The service is super friendly and knowledgeable. On occasion it has been a little slower than I would have liked but the food and the cutesy atmosphere is worth it. Their coffee is great and they bring you creamer in tiny jars. I love it. I love this place. Will be heading there for brunch again this Saturday. read more
