I stopped here over the blisteringly hot weekend to get some ice cream because why not? You order from a window, then your ice cream is handed to you in short order. I was excited to see that they had black raspberry ice cream, one of my favorites that is usually pretty hard to find outside of New England. I got a small size, which was he perfect amount. I was able to eat it all before it melted! There are benches on the side of the building beneath a cool mural. If you're looking for good ice cream in Lancaster, give this place a try. read more

Cute little ice cream shop downtown. Right on the corner of the street. They only do a walk up window to order, no going inside. One kid working inside. We were the only customer on a cold Friday night but I could see them get busy during the summer. The ice cream was great. They even sell soup to take home and heat up yourself. Pricing was very reasonable. read more

Delicious ice cream! They have a counter and selection of ice cream outside to order. The prices are extremely reasonable! I ordered a tripe scoop to share with my family. We shared the oats cookie and cream, Black Raspberry, and banana pudding. Each flavor was delicious and the person at front was helpful suggesting flavors. Hope to revisit again! read more

Splits And Giggles - a sign on a brick building - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Splits and giggles doesn't give a split about your experience, operating out of a screened window on a residential corner close to the Franklin and Marshall campus. When we went, there was a line of a few confused patrons, all of whom were debating whether the "closed" sign was accurate, because the folks at the counter had been waiting a few minutes. It turns out that the whole show was being run by one young woman, and so she was prepping full orders by herself and also handling the register. The ice cream itself is Hershey, not homemade, which to me just means I can get this same experience in a dozen other places. Overall not a place I'll remember, but it was still ice cream! read more

We finally made our way over here after dinner on vacation one night. Long line but they are pros here, seriously went so fast. Soon we were enjoying deliciousness and my son was happy. Amazing ice cream. read more

Easy to find street parking as this place is located on a corner in a not so busy area. Ice cream is Hersheys ice cream and it's absolutely delicious! Service is quick and you no longer go into the building; you order at the window! Best little shop to get ice cream in Lancaster city. read more

Excellent shake in Lancaster. I was debating with myself about a shake vs dish and I watched the group of 4 before us receive 3 shakes and 1 dish. I asked how the shakes were and a gal said, "The best." So my chocolate extreme shake was great! Tasted friend's banana pudding shake and yum! Other friend had a cappuccino blast shake. That was incredible. Loved it better than my extreme chocolate so that's what I'll be getting next time! There's a cute little shaded garden out back to sit in. Very pleasant and terrific goodies. read more

They did a great job this year with National Ice cream for Breakfast Day! Easy online ordering and easy takeout window pickup! The toppings were all packaged separately, the waffle in its own bag and two big scoops of ice cream. A different take, but just as fun! Everyone had a great time building their own sundaes! Nice job! Way to pivot in this year of madness! read more

Pretty good, nice flavor selection with some unique finds! A bit of a line but great pricing.

Picture perfect small establishment with the creamiest, most delicious ice cream. Is there a bad ice cream store -- ha Haa I have never found one. The service here was polite and efficient. A little patio is located around the corner to sit and enjoy your treats! No bathrooms available at this tiny neighborhood business. There is a restroom in a laundromat next door to the patio we were told. That emergency bathroom will not win a beauty award and perhaps could win the most homely and marginally scary BR award. It worked in a pinch for the kiddo and that was what we needed. It's all good. Sometimes you just have to roll with it. read more

Good but I wish they had more flavors. I like flavors like Caramel and Cookie Dough and Vanilla With Berry Swirl. They gave us free water, though, which is great! read more

LOVE this place! Me and my husband have been on a mission to find a good ice cream spot since moving here and we finally did! This is an incredibly small space to pack in so much ice cream, coffee, and sandwiches. The close quarters truly makes three a crowd, but despite the lack of space, S&G has a nice neighborhood vibe, a decent menu, and a super friendly staff. On my first stop here, I was disappointed to see the selection was only Hershey's ice cream products, which you can find in any store around here, but for a quick and cheap cone, I couldn't really complain. They keep a decent variety on hand and rotate flavors out so even the regulars can't get that tired of the selection. I highly recommend the ice cream floats - your choice of Reading Soda (yum!) with two scoops of ice cream. If you can, get the Blueberry Birch or Black Cherry. Beware the brain freeze. It's not a myth. My latest visit was on National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day. I haven't seen that many people waiting in line for ice cream since Carmen & David's closed up shop downtown! Despite the crowd, both the customers and staff were amazingly chipper. Guess it's hard to be cranky when you're having ice cream at 9:30 in the morning, huh? We enjoyed our generous scoops and toppings over a warm, made-to-order waffle, and it was the perfect way to start our day. read more

Cute little neighborhood ice cream parlor in Chestnut Hill. Here you fill find Hershey's ice cream, 20 flavors to choose from served in cups, cones, sundaes and milkshakes. They also offer several sandwiches, changing soups, and coffee. Today, I stopped in for their Lancaster City Restaurant Week deal and had the Mary Had A Little Lamb sandwich, Thai Curry Lentil soup, chips and a scoop of Honey Roasted Peanut Butter ice cream. The sandwich is a panini on ciabatta with ham, apples, carmelized onions, cooper sharp cheddar, and stone ground mustard. It is excellent. The flavirs are perfectly balanced and the panini was perfectly pressed. The soup was warming, satisfying, a d had the right amount if heat. The ice cream was rich and a perfect ending to the meal. read more

Verdict: Your Hershey heaven for ice cream flavors. Speaking of heaven, I picked the Heavenly Hazelnut ice cream and had no regrets. They have lots of flavors here. All appear to be Hershey ice creams. Yes, you can probably go to the local supermarket and get the same basic thing. Let's be honest. If we were gonna do that, we would've gone to the store. We wanted the ice cream parlor experience. The scoops are very reasonably priced and they have a nice place to sit around back. All in all, a good place to take the fam. read more

I stopped last night and ordered a hot fudge sundae and added peanut butter sauce. After walking away I noticed that they forgot to put on the hot fudge. Funny thing was there was a phone line cable laying on the side walk that several people had tripped over. I rolled up the wire and put it by the nearest utility pole. I said to someone in line no good deed goes unpunished! I was correct. read more

Splits & Giggles has been a constant place for me. I went there with my F&M host when I was in High School, my future Sorority Big during freshman year, and so many times since with my friends. When David, the owner is there he is always professional, funny, and serves with a smile. He plays great music inside! The other staff there are also always friendly. My favorite ice cream flavors here are Heavenly Hazelnut and Strawberry Cheesecake. Heavenly Hazelnut and a group of other favorites are always there but flavors like Strawberry Cheesecake are on rotation. It's fine though because every time I go there I am satisfied! If you're on the go, definitely get a milkshake!! They're so decadent and perfect to take in your car or on a walk with minimal mess. Besides ice cream, Splits & Giggles also has amazing sandwiches and some great soups! The Hail Mary sandwich is a delicious vegetarian option and Mary Tyler Moore is my go-to sandwich with meat! All sandwiches are always perfectly made, panini-grilled, and served with Maui onion chips. The inside wall art and seating areas are clean and super cute! When it's warm, the seating area outside is a great option!! At night there is soft lighting and a really nice atmosphere. All of the pricing is, in my opinion, reasonable and good. Even as a poor college student I could afford it! I am sad to be graduating and moving away from this amazing little place but I can't wait to come back when I visit! This place has overwhelming charm. Every detail seems to have been thought about from the hanging ice cream scoops to the beautiful stained glass to the clever Mary theme in the menu to the cute outdoor seating area. I've seen many a child with cheek to cheek grins as they devour the many Hershey's flavored scoops. And the service is always friendly. I realize that I'm not the target demographic of this place, and on top of that I've never been a fan of ice cream (yikes!?!!?!), but if you're going to offer savory stuff I personally need more than a pretty plain panini. The Thai curry lentil soup was bitter and the lemon grass stalks were left in it. But, it must seem like a dream to any ice cream fan strolling through the neighborhood!! read more

Excellent service and great selection for ice cream. The employees were very nice and the ice cream was delicious. I got the salted caramel cookies and cream and a cookies vs pb ice cream in a waffle cone. Prices are great considering they give you VERY generous portions. I will definitely come back to try more flavors! That and to get a banana split! The only reason why I would not give a 5th star is they didn't offer samples and when i tried to ask for one (which I did a few times) they didn't respond. There's a chance they didn't hear me but I did try to bring it up a few times. read more

Stopped in this small ice cream shop while I was visiting back east last year. I keep remembering how good it was so I decided to finally write a review on here! I had the candy bar overload ice cream on a waffle cone - it was fantastic! The waffle cone was fresh and crispy and just perfect..and they didn't charge more to upgrade to the waffle cone! The ice cream also tasted better than most. The guy who was working told me something about how Hershey's puts less air in their ice cream when they make it. It was nice to see someone knowledgeable and excited about their job! It was also super cheap.. I think I remember for my 2 scoops of ice cream in a waffle cone it was about $3? They had a pretty decent looking soup/sandwich menu too. I love peanut butter so the Presley panini sounds simply amazing. It's little mom-and-pop shops like this that I absolutely love and want to succeed.. I'm incredibly jealous of everyone that lives there.. I want to come back so bad! read more

As an out of towner, I almost walked out when I saw that the ice cream was simply Hershey's. I'm glad I decided to stick around. The ice cream is not the best in town (the only other ice cream I tried was Jenny's, but I did prefer this to Splits & Giggles), and it's a small town, so it's easy enough to get to the other options. However, the prices are very reasonable, (especially for an out of towner from D.C.). When I was told my small ice cream was $2.50, I stood there in silence, just trying to process the fact that you can buy things for $2. Also, the space is quite charming, and I love the story behind it (three couples joined forces to buy the shop and keep it running). Even though the ice cream isn't technically "local," Splits & Giggles is where you'll find locals, so it's worth it to at least check out if you're not an ice cream snob like I almost was. I didn't try any of the food items as I had other places on my list to try, but if I ever find myself back in Lancaster, I'd be willing to have one of my meals here. read more
