We always love eating here. One of our favorite restaurants in Pooler/savannah. Staff is always friendly and great food.

I love the concept. I love that it can be social or come alone to unwind. Simple yet delicious. The waitstaff are helpful and courteous, although not always full of personality. For such a social type eating experience, I think I expect a bit more. Otherwise, food is good and good selection of sauces. read more

Great food every time and really love how fast the service is, but staff the staff is not very friendly. Which is pretty unfortunate.

My fiancé and I wanted to try this place out; I'm glad we went! Everything was delicious. I shared the meat lovers plate with Jerry (sharing fee of 3.50), and there was more than enough soup for us both. We were able to chose our own broth, curry and spicy. The curry broth was our favorite. Our waiter, a gentleman, was very kind and answered our many questions, as this was our first time visiting. Love this place; we will return soon! read more

Healthy cuisine if you stick with less meat and more vegetables with just a little bit of the sauce from the sauce bar( too salty).

I love this place. With the many different type of broths it's not just pho you can create. Plenty of spices and sauces to add to the broths. A very generous helping of meats and veggies come with the meal. Come hungry, leave stuffed. Well worth the money. Been here a couple times, have not been disappointed. One of my favorite places to go. Delicious food, and a unique way of serving it up that you can't really find in this area. I'm so happy this place is here, and hope it stays for years to come. Took my parents here when they came for a visit, and they loved it so much they went searching for similar places where they live (can't find any, unfortunately). Awesome idea and delicious food -- don't bring little kids! I took my 2-year-old and met another mom friend there. My daughter and my friend's 5-year-old daughter were excited at the idea of eating soup we were about to cook at the table. We got them shrimp-chive dumplings to make the wait more tolerable. Too bad there aren't enough shrimp-chive dumplings in the world to occupy to toddlers long enough to cook and enjoy a Splendid Shabu meal. For some reason, it took them FOREVER to take our order and bring out our raw ingredients so we could start cooking. I'm not really sure why, since we were there for an early lunch on a Saturday -- first customers of the day. They also forgot to make our daughters' purple bubble-tea smoothies and had to be reminded twice. Once the ingredients came out, though, cooking went fast and the soup was soup-er savory, fresh and enjoyable! The dumplings were good, too, by the way. Love the concept here and the non-processed ingredients. What a cool way to get toddlers to eat fresh veggies, right?! And their seasoning/dip bar was cool, too. A waitress helps patrons make their own custom dipping sauce by asking about customers' tastes and explaining the available offerings and how they will affect the sauce's taste. Staff definitely could have been faster, but they were polite and apologetic about the delay. I'd go back, just not with kiddos. A date night or a mommies' night out? Fo sho! Oh, and I should mention that even though the wait time makes it hard for kids, the restaurant is equipped for them. They have procedures and equipment in place to make sure little ones don't burn themselves while ma and pa are brewing up the grub on gas burners. Nice touch! read more

Well, I had never heard of Shabu, until I met someone who told me about it. I love Vietnamese Pho, and I was told the concept of shabu was somewhat the same. I decided to try it with 3 other friends, and we all loved it. I have to say that by far, this is my favorite place to eat, with healthy options. I also found my favorite boba tea which is Taro. In California we call the boba tea "pearl tea" because of the yummy tapioca pearls. Thsi is definitely a place to try if you are looking for something new. I am a very big shabu lover and am very picky about shabu places. I went to Splendid Shabu for the first time last night and was not expecting alot. I was very surprised at how much I loved this place. The staff is super friendly and the restaurant is very clean. The food is very good the only thing that would make it better is if they served Kabocha (Japanese pumpkin) and if the sauce bar had Daikon. Other than that it is definitely worth going in and experiencing. read more

The owner was very nice and let me get take out on the weekend when they normally don't do take out. I got house broth with clear noodles and chicken and it was very good. The mango bubble tea was also very good! It's a little pricey, but i think it's worth it especially if you eat in the restaurant. read more

Didn't think I'd find a hot pot bar down here in Georgia but I was wonderfully amazed to find Splendid Shabu right here in my backyard. Selection was great and I the prices were very reasonable. Not a bad place if you've never been to a hot pot bar. The owner and his wife were working the tables to help out the single waitress. They were all superbly attentive to the needs of my family and I. They were able to explain the differences in the broth selections and menu items. I do wish the sauce area had a bit more selection for additives such as sugar, ginger black pepper, etc. but it was sufficient as-is. In all we'll be going back to Splendid Shabu again for delicious meals and great atmosphere. read more

Very cool environment. Usually packed with people. I like the way we sit all around the cooking station and can create such a variety of choices from broths and ingredients. You get to cook your meat and add any seasoning you want! Delicious! read more

Havent been to a shabu-shabu for a long time since i moved to south ga. So lucky i saw this on yelp and it was near our hotel. Food was great. Meat and seafood was fresh (wish they'd peel the shrimp, though). A plate comes with veggies (bokchoy, napa, mushroom, enoki mushroom, and more) and enough to feed 2, if you're a light eater. This unique cook-at-your-table restaurant had several different choices when it came to building your own soup. You start with the broth, then add your meats and sides. They then bring you everything and you cook it in front of yourself on the table. It is fun to be involved in the process and was delicious. Would definitely go again. read more

Always good! You are basically cooking your meal so be prepared for at least 1-2 hours. But it is well worth the time!

The food was good and the process was fun but the service was horrible. Apparently we had some sort of invisibility cloak around our table because everyone else seemed to be well taken care of. I admit that we may have looked a bit road weary, but that's no excuse for poor service. We told the waitress it was our first time and she gave us a quick explanation, but didn't bother to tell us that there were instructions on the table (which we didn't see until we had finished our meal... we didn't look for instructions because we felt the waitress would give is all the info we needed). We had to get up and get chopsticks because they didn't give us any. We had to flag the wait staff down for extra napkins and drink refills. As we observed everyone else getting excellent attention, we muddled thru our dinner, drinking soup from a tiny spoon and as we were leaving I see that other diners had soup spoons! We will pass thru Pooler GA again, but I doubt we will ever eat at Splendid Shabu while here. read more

On vacation and missing our favorite noodle bar back home we decided to give this a try. It was different than what we were used to since it was a "hot pot" noodle bar and we weren't experienced in that. None the less we had an amazing meal and an excellent experience. They walk you through your order, the staff is attentive and helpful, the food comes out quickly and your on your way. You cook and assemble the soup yourself right on the table! We had a blast. The only thing was we could have EASILY split one instead of each getting our own. Also, the sauces you can make near the counter are all great, it shows you how to assemble them. I also recommend the gyoza. NOTE- you have two options for cooking your food that they don't tell you about. If you're going to eat it all ( likely if you're splitting or just REALLY hungry) then go for it and cook it. But if it's just you eating it or everybody got their own j suggest cooking half the ingredients and then eat and repeat! read more

Wonderful discovery! I was looking for a place to eat with a friend that was reasonably priced. I found out this was just up the street and since both of us like Asian food we decided on this. Turns out they have Bubble Tea in several different flavors (around 10). I have been missing this so bad since moving here from Atlanta. They weren't busy during our visit but I imagine most people don't know about it. Tables are small but we still managed to do a Tarot reading on them. Food portions were large. The sauce bar is awesome. I definitely recommend it. The staff are a great help if you don't know of the Hot Pot concept. My tea was delicious and so was all of my food. It didn't take long for them to prep it or for it to cook at the table. I went shortly before Thanksgiving and they said they were remodeling to make it better. I was super bummed when I tried to eat there on New Year's Eve and they were closed for the evening (completely my fault for thinking anyone would be open at 7pm). They are fantastic and I'm looking forward to me next visit this month. read more

We went there last night. Definitely fresh food! My husband got the spicy and I got the house. I like this place better than firewok because it has more choice of alacarte items as well as more choices of noodles. I just think it is a little cramped for the seating it self.
