Been here twice now. All in all, tacos are mid. First time they were great, 2nd time not so much. Too expensive for inconsistency

The food, apps, and cocktails were fantastic! We ordered the hot chicken taco, and Korean BBQ taco. Both excellent flavor profiles and quality. The cocktails were great as well. I had the Mexico City margarita which was a bit smokey but balanced. The torches were also a fun take on nachos. Of all the food, the salsa with the chips and salsa was out of this world. Subtle smoky flavor with a nice hit of heat. Overall, it was a great experience. Looking forward to coming back! read more

Kudos to owners Scott & Todd and Take Out Manager, Elizabeth for the excellent restaurant they have created on our own Eagle Main Street! We recently ordered food for 18 people on April 22nd with little time for them to prepare. Their team did an excellent job of putting together the food to take out and help nourish a large family gathered together rather quickly. The food was great and the kindness extended will be always appreciated. I have dined there inside now twice and have always enjoyed the selection of foods. Most recently I tried their salad with shrimp and it was excellent! I highly recommend you drop by and experience it for yourself. You won't be disappointed! read more

I've loved the flavors of this joint! The Tajik crusted chips and marinated Carne Asada are a favorite as well as the breakfast burritos! So far I've had a few items and look forward to trying more! SKIP IT! After waiting for 45 minutes, not the 20 we were quoted, we are home from work today ill. I order the shrimp ceviche and the shrimp was raw! I know they claim it sits in a citrus bath, but I know better than to eat gray raw shrimp. My husband ordered four tacos and said all had a strange aftertaste. We ordered three drinks, four tacos, shrimp ceviche and our bill was over $100 dollars. Extremely limited seating and quite noisy as well. We were in the area with the kids and grandkids on Sunday afternoon and this looked like a fun spot. Unfortunately, from start to finish the service was horrible. We had a two year old and four year old. They were hungry and Spitfire does not provide chips and salsa, so we included nachos as an appetizer with our order to tide them over. The nachos took close to a half hour to get to our table. By that time, our grandson had already fallen asleep. The waiter apologized for the wait. But, It took another twenty to thirty minutes for the main portion of our order. The waiter said something about a Door Dash order and mumbled some other excuse that I didn't understand. The food, itself, was a sodium addict's dream. Tajin is a Mexican seasoning that is a blend of peppers, lime, and sea salt. It seemed to be literally distributed on all the food. The nachos were nearly inedible due to the overuse of Tajin. After all of our plates had been removed from our table, we waited another 15 minutes until another waiter asked if we were finished. I explained that we were and had been for some time. He then prepared our bill for us and we were finally able to leave. I worked in restaurants ranging from a pizza place to fine dining establishment while I was in school with positions including dishwasher, busboy, waiter, and assistant manager. I completely understand when you're overwhelmed and/or understaffed. Judging by the number of black-shirted personnel standing around and the personnel that appeared to help unload a load of liquor from a truck in the parking lot, that wasn't the case at Spitfire. As I said, it looked like a fun place. But, given the service and the food, we'll never know because we won't be back. read more

This was our first visit, when we asked what the waitress favorite item was on the menu, she told us that "It's a small menu and what we have put on it we are really good at making" The atmosphere was okay. It's pretty new and pretty busy and it took over a really small location on a busy corner, they did what they could and I appreciate it. What I was disappointed with and the whole reason my review is so low is that my food was wrong, 3 times. I ordered a steak burrito without guacamole. First burrito came out with the guacamole, sent back and next burrito wasn't even a steak burrito it was the surf and turf mostly surf, sent back again and the last burrito I got was finally a steak burrito without guacamole. But that's all it had on it. Steak and potatoes. No salsa, no crema, no onions, nothing. It was very dry. I was so hungry by this point I just dipped it in the salsa we got with the chips and dip appetizer. To top it off I also was given a Diet Pepsi instead of a Dr Pepper. I don't put full blame on the waitress, but after 3 attempts and everything I ordered was still wrong I'm definitely not going back. I did ask for a manager and the host didn't even know if one was working at the time. Very disappointed. read more

Normally, we LOVE this place but today the Al pastor was not even close to the norm. It was a bright orange mush. I have had their regular Al pastor enough times to know what it should be. We come here for it. Maybe not again though. It's almost like it was bought from somewhere to substitute. If you're out just say so. I don't want to pay for the subpar substitute. read more

This new restaurant has been very popular since it's opening. I was told to go to Spitfire between typical lunch and dinner hours which my friends and I did. We were seated promptly and served promptly. Our drinks arrived quickly followed shortly by our food. I was actually quite surprised how fast we were served by the friendly staff. My carne asada burrito was to die for!!! It was packed with flavor and tender steak. Everyone raved about their choices. I was told the shrimp was a bit spicy but tasty. We tried the new key lime dessert. It was a nice finish to our meal. I can't wait to go back and enjoy the wonderfully delicious food again. BTW-I could only eat half of my burrito because it was so big! I took the other half home. I was so happy I had it to enjoy later!! read more

I felt it was a little expensive it was $7 for one taco. The food was in taste very good. Since I wanted a Cadillac margarita it was not offered on the menu. In fairness I didn't ask if I could have one instead of there more fancy ones. The service was good and the staff friendly. I imagine when the weather warms up it will be nice to sit outside. Love the craft cocktails and the whole vibe of the place. You can get a high quality drink and some tasty, creative tacos while bellying up to a beautifully designed bar. Over glorified fast food taco joint. Walked up and noticed a drive thru......1st red flag. Second flag was a $14 margarita. It was ok and about 4 sips of drink. 3rd red flag was the ceviche.....came out in a bowl and was barely 1/10th filled with a red juice, and 2 very small shrimp. So embarrassing I sent it back and told the waitress that was embarrassing to serve. I have worked in the restaurant/hotel service industry for over 20 years so I know acceptable portions . Then when we got the food it was mediocre. Better food at many other fast food chains like Del taco, Chipotle, Costa Vida.. etc. Got our bill and was charged $19.50 for a single cosmopolitan Martini....Are you kidding me? This place won't last...not worth the wait or cost and most uncomfortable cheap chairs and tables to sit at also. This isn't California....not acceptable here! read more

The drinks on the other hand, small glasses for our 2 sip margarita, 3 margaritas, with tip $50! Won't be drinking there. Sine the crowds have died down a little bit, we thought we'd sneak in to Spitfire in the mid-afternoon on a Wednesday. It's only been open for a couple of weeks, so we knew they'd still be ironing out the kinks. Service was just okay - again, they are new. Entree came before the appetizer before the drinks. Server was friendly and helpful. Vibe was good. Small place, and all tables were full. A couple of TV's, but not enough that you would go there to watch a game. Menu was very good. We got ceviche, a burrito, and a couple of tacos. Burrito was excellent (they all have tater tots in them, and lots of meat). Tacos were creative and tasty. Two will fill you up. Ceviche needs some work. While it was very tasty, the chunks of shrimp were too large, and the chips were tasty but too thin to scoop without breaking every time. Serving was a bit small as well. Drinks were good. The right size and strength, and tasty. Overall, we were pleased, and expect to be back! read more

I'm so happy Spitfire is finally open! We went last night and altogether I'm just really impressed. Long wait but super worth it! The food was delicious! The drinks were creative and the place was lively! My favorite taco was the carne asada one, some people said it was spicy but I can handle spicy and it was perfect for me! We will definitely be back, I'm looking forward to trying the breakfast burritos! Eagle has been super sleepy for so long and I think Spitfire is just the right amount of fun! read more

Do yourself a favor and ignore the bad reviews here by the transplants that take themselves way too seriously or people reviewing the restaurant on the first week of being open. Spitfire is has a unique and delicious take on Mexican food and is a welcome addition to the Eagle food scene. Not to mention they have a great selection of tequilas! It's great to see they add some spice to their food, something I find lacking in many Mexican restaurants here in Idaho. While the lower level patio is great (as is the interior), I can't wait for warm weather and evenings on the upper patio! Well worth a visit to see for yourself! PS. First review on Yelp because a) the restaurant deserves it and b) I have a life. read more
