Mediterranean Rice Bowl
Christine C.

I picked up a to-go order here a few years back and didn't remember being too impressed, but the craving for Greek struck me this week and I said let's give it another try. I decided to eat-in and the staff welcomed me and had me pick any table. I ordered the Mediterranean rice bowl and subbed shrimp. I got the avgolemono to start and wish I didn't. The flavor is kind of one note and the soup is as plain as can be. You can absolutely skip it. I think they forgot about the soup because it came out about 3 mins before my entree... But the rice bowl was great! I would totally get this again. It's basic, but flavorful. And the shrimp was cooked perfectly. I did have to ask for my tzatziki which the menu said came with. I adore Greek green beans and these were fine. Not great, but not the worst. There was plenty of seating for the lunch crowd. If you're in Hammock and want to skip the drive-thrus, give them a try!

OMG, this has got to be one of my favorite spots of all time. I pretty much get the same thing always which is the famous GYRO! Every time it tastes incredible and I've never had issues with service because everybody is so nice.

A forgotten gem that has evolved since its opening! What started as a counter-service spot has become more of sit-down restaurant, changing the entire dining experience. The transition to table service adds a welcome touch of hospitality, while maintaining the quick, efficient food delivery you expect. The open kitchen offers transparency, and the spotless workspace shows their commitment to cleanliness. Everything arrives hot and fresh - a detail that shouldn't go unnoticed. The only thing we did not love was the salad presentation. Whole leaves of romaine which seems like an afterthought on a plate. Changing the presentation of that could do a lot for a customer ordering the salad. Despite consistently enjoyable meals, this tucked-away treasure in the shopping center often slips our mind when we're in the area. The steady stream of takeout orders (both phone and online) during our visit speaks to their efficiency and taste.

Vine down Wednesday! The best gyro in town! The staff works there butts off to get the job done right Consistent and Excellent quality and portion size. The resturant decor has recently changes and feels very Greek now.

Quesadilla with salsa over salad

We came in on a Saturday afternoon and there were 4 tables already filled. We were told to have a seat and quickly realized they had one employee taking orders, waiting on tables and cooking. She was very sweet and apologized that it would be some time before she'd get to us. She spoke to us at every point and made sure we were good by simply saying I'll be with you. It doesn't take much to keep us at an establishment when we may have to wait without service longer than expected- a smile, acknowledgement of our presence and just being kind goes a long way, and she seemed to know that. We ordered one gyro with beef and gyro meat, and another with chicken, as well as the quesadilla. Everything was absolutely delicious. The quesadilla was to die for! They put the pickled peppers in the quesadilla. It comes on a bed of salad and it's sooooo good! We had the fries with one gyro and a salad with the other. The fries were spot on. Soft inside, hard outside and tasted delicious. The salad dressing was delicious! We will totally be back. Small note: I'm not sure if this is in their control but I did want to note that there was a horrible sulfur smell outside which would impact all the businesses there- not just this one, and it was a bit off putting but it didn't seep into the establishment. It seemed very clean and well kept inside.

Second time within three weeks we've came in. Had not been disappointed we had the spinach pie could not even finish and that's with and my wife sharing it. Came with fries and soup. You could've got another sides with it. Great deal as happy as last time. A lot of food for the money good value. Andreas was very accommodating. I

Long wait, but worth it! My go-to for anything Greek is usually Jimmy's but wanted to give this place a go. The tzatziki was creamy and light. I wish I had a tub of it to swim in. The gyro salad was massive. Holy crap I had like 3 meals from the one entree. What surprised me was the addition of beets. I've never heard or seen that ingredient in a Mediterranean dish, but it worked! They even added beets to their dressing and it was awesome. Can't wait to come back!

Food was good but not the best Greek I've had. I little on the expense side for the amount of food you get. I will try them again.

Our server Cassie was a perfect balance of attention and space. We ordered entrees only. Country fried steak was well done and the white gravy complimented the breading well. Portion of the sides weren't huge but perfect size. Fried Shrimp plate was a good portion and the shrimp were crispy. Added a side salad for 99 cents. Good ranch dressing. The grilled white fish was also very good and was prepared blackened. Flaky moist portion and the fries were delicious too. Chicken tender salad was bright and fresh. A large portion too with half being taken home for lunch the next day. Saved the worst for last and it was flavorful but could have been a tad crispier. The Monte Cristo sandwich. The berry spread was really good. As I said not sure why the low average. It is quality comfort food with large portions and the staff has always been on point. Give them a shot and form your own opinion....willing to bet it will be good.

While the restaurant was clean you can tell that Cheddars is on the way out. I do not recommend.

I've never been to this restaurant before at this specific location, but I can see why everyone picked it As is to be expected different people arrived at different times, but we were all able to sit comfortably in a group and the weight staff accommodated our amount of guests by exhibiting adaptability and patience I personally enjoyed a classic cheeseburger with a double patty and a side of steamed vegetables. Not only is this place military friendly but the quality and quantity of food I got at that price point doesn't feel like it can be beat. I will say that I glanced over at the Pizookie which looks fantastic and saw a drink with a duck in it that is going to ensure the next time I come by I try it as well Sharon was our waitress and she did a fantastic job making sure everyone's order was on point and circling back often not only to check on our food but to refresh our drinks accordingly. Another thing I liked was that people's orders were brought out virtually close to one another despite being ordered a different times. We had a fantastic time. The place was super clean. There was plenty of parking and easy to find all in all the experience merits every last one of its five star ratings.

We tried the same location a second time and same horrific service. When we moved to Florida my grandfather and I ate at one in Jacksonville and it was ok. Recently my wife and I visited the location in Melbourne, Fl. The parking lot was full and so was the building. We were seated in 10 minutes. Our server Keith took our order and was knowledgeable on the menu. However our experience went downhill from there. My wife ordered soup and salad and got it in 5 minutes. I ordered hamburger and had to watch my wife eat her food. It took another 20 minutes for my burger. My wife's soup was lukewarm at best and we had to ask for a fork for her salad. There was not silverware on the table when we arrived and Keith never once offered us any. I had to use my wife's napkin. When we asked for our tab. Keith asked us to fill out a survey. Truthfully he would not want me to review his service. I will say the food for the most part was good but BJ's and Keith struck out big time when it came to basic customer service. After multiple negative experiences at more than one BJ's we have decided this is it. We are done and will never visit BJ's again anywhere

El Chico Mexican Restaurant 1751 Evans Rd., Melbourne, FL 32904…read more 3 Stars (chain restaurant review) With origins dating back to a Texas county fair in 1926, El Chico Mexican Restaurant has been around for quite a while. In 1926, Alelaida "Mama" Cuellar's tamales were a massive hit at the county fair. Two years later, they opened their first restaurant in Kaufman, TX. The 11th opened in Six Flags Over Texas and is credited with introducing Mexican food to the American masses. In 1940, Mama Cuellar's children opened the first El Chico Cafe in Dallas, TX. Susan was my outstanding service professional for the meal. I asked Susan for an order of their Chorizo Tacos, a Grande Pollo Burrito and a side of chips and salsa. Susan brought my order out in no time and after snapping a few pics, I got to work. I always wonder if cooks smell the ingredients before they start using them OR do they smell them, realize they are not so fresh anymore, and think the dining public won't notice? Either way, this cook deserves strong jobation for this dish. The Chorizo meat was not good; it wasn't rancid, but if you opened the walk-in, I wouldn't be surprised if it was seen beating up the tomatoes as it was undoubtedly turning bad. Moving on to the Grande Pollo Burrito - the hero of this meal. Even though the chicken was a tad on the rubbery side (my guess is heated up in the microwave, but I could be wrong), the rice, beans and other fillings were excellent. While a bit chewy, the chicken was fajita-flavored and served with a beautiful chipotle wine sauce. The rice was cooked to perfection and the frijoles rancheros were succulently seasoned. If the chicken hadn't been nuked, it would have been fantastic. This brings me to what passed as chips and salsa in this cuchara grasosa. Please look at that pic and tell me that's not a cup of ketchup with a smattering of spice sprinkled in. It sure as Texas didn't taste like salsa. The chips were OK, but the salsa was not. Big Boy says, " 20 years ago, this was fantastic Tex-Mex. Today? Too much top-notch competition makes this yesterday's chimichangas."
