If I could give 1 million times 1 star, I would do it!) If I could help every person in this world give Spirit Airlines 1 star, I would volunteer to do it. Daylight robbery! At first they sell cheap tickets, but then come endless hidden fees, rude service, and unfair treatment. I was on flight #2343 from Orlando to Chicago, gate 8. Before boarding, they announced they needed volunteers to leave the plane with a $700 offer including hotel, but no one volunteered. Since I was in the last boarding group (Group 5), they targeted me -- it felt like they wanted to kick me out of the plane just because I was last group. At the gate, Mrs. Jennifer suddenly made a huge problem. She told me I could only bring one bag. I had just 1 small handbag and 1 small carry-on, but she forced me to combine everything into one. Then she made me check the size and demanded my credit card to charge $99 for one bag. Another staff member even asked her, "Did you charge her yet?" Then they threatened us, saying we had only 2 minutes or they would not let us on the plane. This felt like racist discrimination, because my sister (also Asian) was forced to do the same thing. Worst airline ever. I will never fly Spirit again.

Crazy waits for baggage at Spirit airlines, O'Hare.

We flew Spirit for the first time and unfortunately it will be our last because of our poor flight experience. This airline was not our first choice but due to the skyrocketing fuel costs, add to that spring break in full swing, we were priced out of flying our usual carrier. Despite the low cost, that was probably the few best things flying with Spirit. Everything else we experienced was mostly bad. First of all, our flight was delayed 3 times. We were scheduled to depart from Chicago to Orlando at around 2:30pm but by the time 2:30 rolled, our plane had yet to arrive at the gate. It was 8 when we made landfall where we were then faced with the agonizing tasks of deplaning, running to the bathrooms, heading over to the bag carousel and finally make the long walk to the MCO (Orlando) car counter to pick up our rental. Second, paying for checked bags at an exorbitant cost was not fun. We paid $65 each way for the checked bags we had. To save on costs my husband and I, along with my parents, shared a checked in bag. Weight limit is 40 lbs. We made sure we fell under the weight limit and brought the biggest suitcases we own! On the upside, Spirit has the best cheap comfy seats. The seats are faux leather and are comfortable enough to endure a short trip. We had no issues with staff. Plane snacks and drinks are self-pay a la carte. It really is a low-cost no-frills airline.

I flew into Chicago O'Hare International Airport for the first time in several years, and I have to…read moresay, it wasn't nearly as bad as I remembered! O'Hare has never exactly been at the top of my list of favorite airports, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that my experience this time around was considerably better than I expected. Don't get me wrong, it's still a massive airport with plenty of opportunities to get your steps in, but things seemed a little more manageable than I remembered. Case in point: I walked what felt like nearly a mile to my gate, only to discover that my gate had changed. Under normal circumstances, that might've been enough to make me question my life choices, but after spending three hours crammed into an airplane seat, I figured I could use the exercise anyway. Sometimes you've just got to embrace the unexpected cardio! One thing that made a surprisingly big difference was United's mobile app. It now offers turn-by-turn directions inside O'Hare, which is an absolute game-changer when you're trying to navigate an airport that feels like a small city. Instead of wandering around trying to decipher signs and figure out which direction I needed to go, I could just follow the directions on my phone. It took a lot of the frustration out of getting around, especially with the unexpected gate change. Seriously, more airports and airlines need to embrace this kind of functionality. I also found plenty of food and beverage options scattered throughout the airport, so there certainly wasn't a shortage of places to grab something to eat or drink. Bathrooms were plentiful as well, though most I encountered were pretty busy and had lines. Thankfully, those lines moved along fairly quickly, so it wasn't much of an inconvenience. All things considered, O'Hare managed to exceed my admittedly modest expectations. It's still enormous, there's still plenty of walking involved, and you might find yourself getting an impromptu workout courtesy of a gate change, but the amenities were plentiful and navigating the airport was easier than I remembered. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to spend an afternoon wandering its terminals, but I certainly won't dread flying through O'Hare the next time my travels take me to Chicago!

I used to fly to Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) and MDW (Midway) regularly many years…read moreago. This past year, I've had three layovers at ORD since the last time I was here over 10 years ago. My last layover a couple weeks ago was probably the worst experience I've had at any airport. With ORD delaying my first two layovers this year, I had the unfortunate experience of having a cancellation. What was supposed to be a 2-hour layover turned into 3 delays, 2 gate changes, and eventually a cancellation due to severe weather. In total, I was at ORD for 25 hours! (I did rebook for the next day flight - there was only 1 flight a day to my final destination so my only option was the next day same time or a different airport with extra layovers). I was already sleepless so I was unsure how I was going to survive a night at the airport. Talk about high anxiety. With other passengers, we found a cozy area in Terminal B (near Gate B18) where they had little pods to sleep in. I "camped" there for the night but had very little sleep. At one point, one of the ORD employees came by and handed all of us campers a blanket. I thought that was very kind especially in the situation we were in. I really appreciate this gesture. I did somehow get about 2-3 hours of on-and-off "sleep". Thank goodness my carryon has extra clean clothes and stuff to keep me fresh and clean. I made the most of my situation by catching up on work, walking around, and whatever activity to keep me busy and make time move faster. I found a spa near Gate B12 where I got myself a much-needed massage. It was great! Overall, I will most likely avoid any future layover at ORD. However, I'm glad they have staff that still cared for us weary travelers by providing us a blanket. Glad I was able to get on my rebooked flight with just a small 20-minute delay. Whew!

They are not the happy fun place circa 1995 to COVID. THEY ARE RUDE like United O'HARE. They are unevenly enforcing carryon baggage count. I've watched CLT say put smaller fanny packs into 1 of your carry-ons and thought ohhh....they are serious like Ryan Air in Europe Today, 9/9/26 - 1 man have 4 bags. 2 luggage carry-ons+ 1 shopping bag and a briefcase in addition to his 2 rolling carry-ons. I figured be may be a cc carrier or exempt yet boarded Group 5. Elder couple had to be split up because wife was group 5 but he was group 8. They genuinely made him wait. Wifey got her rolling little carry-on not a 20in nor 18in and the gate agent immediately questioned her luggage count. Y'all she had a shopping bag from the concourse and that's it. I flew out from MDW on 8.13.2026 for the first time in forever. Had a bigoted encounter 8.12.2026 with Stephanie in the baggage check-in area. Now, today and 8/12th was enough for me but mannnnn our outbound 9.2.26 flight was delayed that we arrived Midnight central time which was well after our 735p scheduled time. They sent $100 Luv vouchers which I'm learning today can only be applied for flights whereas I'm thinking they can be spent at SWA so let me pay for luggage. Nope! In all. It's just too much. One would expect all the rigor from Frontier Airlines or any other budger carrier y'all prefer to mock but with Candor ... I haven't had such from Frontier and I don't these shenanigans from Southwest.

He informed me he re-referred my ticket issue to refunds as my downgraded segment would be prorated and the difference in fare would be refunded to me. I was also issued a $100 electronic discount certificate in a separate email at a later date. I responded to Mr. Shapiro informing him that the compensation provided was adequate. I informed him I did report this incident to the DoT given my previous deadline was not met. I provided the DoT Case No. and the Complaint No. so that he could provide this correspondence to the DoT to close this case. I also copied the response I sent to the United CEO on August 29 so that if anyone contacted his department on this issue, he could also provide this correspondence that the issue was finally settled. I received my refund to my United credit card on September 3, approximately one month after my initial request for the reimbursement due me. As such, my updated review of 3 stars and my initial review of one star should be construed as an OVERALL review of 2 stars! No one should have to go through this much work to get the proper refund due them in order to finally get home.

The screens on the back of the seats are great, and it's so cool that you can watch TV/Movies and in flight navigation is very neat to follow the plan as you fly. I had never used this service and had a ton of oxygen supplies so I actually couldn't imagine how this would go.
