This was my first time actually flying into Chicago O'Hare to stay in Chicago. I think I've only…read morebeen through O'Hare before for a layover. It's definitely a big, busy airport lots of hustle and bustle and LOTS of people but overall, I found it pretty easy to navigate. The train station is farrr. One thing I liked was that there were plenty of food options and food courts throughout the airport. That's definitely a plus! Of course, the food was ridiculously overpriced, but hey, that's airport food for you. They could fix those prices if they wanted to but I digress. The bathrooms I used were pretty clean, which is always important. The one thing I did notice was that some of the gate areas seemed really small. Maybe it's just the way they're set up, but with so many people waiting to board, they definitely felt cramped. Overall, though, getting in, getting around, and getting out was pretty easy. For such a large and busy airport, I didn't have any major issues navigating O'Hare.

If you're flying United and going coast to coast and not to a major hub endpoint, chances are…read moreyou're making a connection in each direction here and yes siree, as millions annually can testify to, it makes no difference if it's 5am or 1pm, this place is a shit show sea of humanity. I honestly shouldn't complain as the walk from gate to gate in each direction wasn't horrendous. 5 minutes one time and 7 minutes the other time. All things considered, not bad. What's of course bad are the concourses are far too narrow/small for all of the people/staff needing to get from A to B. Expect getting checked into a wall hockey style on your way in and out of any restrooms. Lines for any food are usually nuts. Pricing is of course, not of this world and expect a lot of things will be out or take forever. 20 minutes for a basic iced coffee at Caffee Mercato at Noon on a Wednesday? Yepper. I guess it could have been worse. It could have been an International flight which would equaled a commute of miles, insane tight connections that could have only been done via Star Trek transporting or I could have left from a different origin hub which might have bypassed the need for a connection but..... This place is a necessary evil but if possible, avoid.

Noted from previous flights, I downloaded the JetBlue mobile application which provided me with…read moreleeway prior to my arrival to the airport. As someone who had just a carry-on bag with me, the application allowed me to check-in early and head straight to TSA rather than having to see a JetBlue agent. I read several JetBlue reviews via yelp prior to this flight to help calm pre-flight jitters because I have never flown with JetBlue. I had to remind myself that I once flew with Spirit Airlines to New Orleans, Louisiana for crying out loud. And most know that Spirit does not have the best reputation. As for my airport experience, surprisingly, TSA was not crowded at all! Other than my carry-on bag being checked due to me having toothpaste check-in went smooth. At the time, I chuckled with personnel because I knew clearly what it was but leave it to hard-headed me for packing it, hehe. As for the flight gate, it took me forever to find it due to lack of signage. As mentioned, I have never flown JetBlue, so the terminal was one I had never visited. What threw me off was the fact that the only terminal 2 signage I saw was for baggage claim. Eeek! I nearly missed boarding, but I kept on moving until I found the JetBlue gate. Now as for my onboard experience, I wanted to charge my phone as I slept on flight because my phone battery was low. I found that there were no power outlets at all which left me with no other option but to preserve my battery as much as I can enroute. I have to point out that it was unpleasant smelling smoke as the plane prepared to lift off from Chicago, Illinois. It was then, I started to take notice of how outdated everything appeared on this plane as my melatonin kicked in. I slept the majority of the flight, so I had little communication with the flight attendants other than the boarding flight hello, a flight attendant asking me if I wanted a snack as I woke up briefly, and the airplane departure goodbye greeting. And as for the airplane interior, the seat comfort was decent! I did have an acceptable amount of leg room, even with my backpack underneath the seat in front of me. I did love the image of the airplane hovering over states on the seatback television which I could not help but notice while awake. In spite of what the plane did not have, it did have access to XM radio stations & Direct TV channels. I survived this flight with JetBlue and would be open to flying with again, as well as recommending to a friend, relative or colleague after this experience. Safe travels, and blessings to all that read this review. ~Have courage. Be Kind. ~ Thomas G

Jet Blue cancelled our return flight home to Chicago from New York with 2 hours notice on a Sunday…read moremorning. We ended up having to rent a car and drive from New York to Chicago since (due to busy weekend events) we could not find another direct flight home until late into the evening and at very high prices. The rental car, tolls, and Lyft to get to a rental car cost me over $1000. BEWARE- canceling of flights with very little notice is COMMON for this airline. Also plane was dirty (no cleaning between flights).
