The kids and I like to go to Spin Pizza whenever we visit the K.C. area and it's crazy to see how many have opened over the years. We went to the one in Lenexa this time. We had the hummus spread, pesto chicken pizza, and the hot honey pepperoni pizza. It was good, I was hoping to taste the hot honey on the pizza but didn't. Went to pick up a takeout order yesterday stood at the counter for several minutes while a whole group of employees just stood chatting and goofing around back towards the kitchen before somebody had to call out to them that there was somebody waiting at the counter. This has become our new go-to location of SPIN, but admittedly, we are long-term fans of this franchise! I could go on and on about how good the pizza is here (and, it really is!!), but I'll never forget that the moment I realized SPIN was super legit was when someone talked me into ordering a salad, and when I did and ate it, I enjoyed it SO much that I thought, "I am legitimately happy that I ordered this salad, and barely miss the pizza I could have had!" When your salads (and yes, that's plural because I DO mean ALL of their salads - I've tried them all, multiple times!) are so tasty that they outshine PIZZA, of all things, you're making good food! And no, I'm not a "go-out-for-salad" kind of guy! Back to the pizza: I hate to bore you, but again, they are ALL amazing! My insider tip here, and it's a good one: despite any preconceived notions about gluten or cauliflower, you MUST try their cauliflower crust! A gluten-free friend talked us into this many years ago here, and we've never turned back! Well, except to try the relatively-new Detroit-style pizza (also fantastic!!). It's crispy and well-seasoned...not mushy, watery cauliflower. If you didn't know you ordered cauliflower, you'd have zero idea that's what the crust was made of when chowing down! This is, sadly, one of the last bastions of good value, and consistently good wait staff. It feels like since the pandemic, so many eateries have risen to astronomical prices (lookin' at you, $20 burger and fries!!), and can't seem to hire and/or train enough good wait staff. That is not an issue here, and it's two of the reasons this restaurant chain gets so many visits from us! This location is easy to find in a growing part of KC, but we've been pleasantly surprised how often we're able to come in during the height of lunch or dinner hour and get a seat! My ONLY knock on this or any location of SPIN that I've frequented is that it does, sometimes, feel a little humid/stuffy in the restaurant. I imagine it's due to having a blast furnace pizza oven blazing along all day, combined with the VERY busy door traffic due to the restaurant's popularity! The food here is consistently good. My "go to" is always the Mini Mia deal - a small salad and small pizza. I usually get the "BLT Salad" (no longer on the menu but they'll still make it), or sometimes the Sonoma if I feel like a lighter, sweeter salad. My go-to pizza is always the Tre Carne (3 meat) with added roasted garlic. When we were trying to eat more low-carb, we'd do a Mini Mia with a Meatball instead of the pizza, but it looks like they've stopped doing this; rather than a single large meatball they've moved to 3 smaller ones (probably to prevent undercooking - we have had that problem in the past where they sometimes came out raw in the center). Now a "mini mia" with a meatball sets you back ~$20 because you have to order the 3-meatball appetizer and a salad separately. Some locations can still "do the deal" if you ask them, but others won't. All in all, the wood fired pizza is amazing though, so we keep coming back. read more

SPIN did a great job with my order of a 14" pesto chicken gluten free pizza. It tasted great and the crust was super crunchy. It was around $6 more for a gluten free crust and the pizza was delicious. I felt that that the chicken on the pizza was scanty. I would have loved some more evenly distributed chicken bites on my pizza. The order was delivered in minutes via Uber eats since I stay very close to this location. They provided grated parmesan and chilli flake sachets alongwith the pizza. The taste was definitely elevated after I sprinkled some of their grated parmesan on top of my pizza slices. Finally got to try this place after hearing my mom rave about it for the last couple of years! I love a good wood fired pizza, and this place has some awesome and unique options. I have had pizza with potato once before, but was excited to try it again here! I got the potato pizza without bacon. I also got the flatbread to share. My sister is lactose intolerant and ordered her pizza dairy free. They came up to our table after we ordered to ask if we wanted no cheese on our flatbread too which I thought was considerate! This was a really neat and quiet and clean location. This was my first time going to this location. I came here in the evening with the family for a late dinner and this was a really good choice. It was fairly quiet for a Tuesday night there wasn't very many people in there but it was close to closing down time also. I got the Turkey bacon avocado full with tomato basil soup which was a really good choice. The family got the 20" three meat pizza which was really good also something about spin pizza ranch has a such a good taste with the pizza I've always been such a fan. This location is really close to where I live and I'm shocked this is my first time ever coming to it. I need to come back more and try some of the other options on the menu for sure. Glad that I got to experience this location will be back and hoping to update with more pictures so you can see the inside really loved the set up for it being a pizza place! read more

I love the concept of SPIN! This was a very tasty and quick lunch option for my coworkers and I. Even though we chose to sit down and enjoy our meal, it was still prepared in a quick manner. Finished with a cup of gelato (strawberry and creme de menthe flavors.). Appreciated the tiny 4 Oz size- it was a perfect after dinner treat. Flavor was good, but gelato texture was lacking. You order at the counter and pay but you don't sign the check until you are done with your meal. You get a number and they deliver the goods and drinks to your table. I love the salad and personal pizza combo. I've tried 3 different white sauce pizzas and they have all been great. I generally don't care much about salads but all the salads and toppings are just perfectly matched with the dressing. I haven't had anything I haven't enjoyed. Delicious pizza! We ordered for delivery and had the pizza within thirty minutes! The pizzas aren't very large, but are packed with flavor. We were excited to try this out since their menu sounded great- we were not disappointed. The crust was perfect- not overly cooked, and not undercooked and chewy. The pizzas also had the perfect amount of sauce and toppings. My favorite was the sausage with grilled onions and the pepperoni- how can you go wrong? The sausage and onion had a wonderful flavor. Spin has always been a family favorite for the longest time. But man, the service has gone really down hill in the past year or so. I will say, the food has pretty much stayed the same which is why I'm giving this location a two star instead of just one. Every time we come, the staff is never paying attention to their customers. It takes forever for us to get our drinks. Our last visit, we got our food before our beverages and had to go up and ask for our drinks. It still took an additional 10 minutes for them to bring them even though we were the only table dining in. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. SPIN! How I love you, SPIN! It doesn't matter the location, SPIN! is always a magnificent place to eat. I've never gone wrong with anything I've ordered there. For the longest time, I would always get the Mama Mia combo with salad and pizza. But lately I took a step back from their delicious pizza and explored some other options. I can now say that I'm a huge fan of their eggplant parmesan. The other day I had their giant cheese stuffed meatball and it was glorious. Pair either of these dishes with an 8 color salad and I have myself a meal that I rave about for hours afterwards. Not only is their food delicious, but it's artistically pleasing, as well.
