Deeeeelicious! This was only my second or third time visiting Imo's. I'd go more often if it weren't so expensive to buy from pizza places! It is so good. Ordered online & went in to pick it up. I got extra cheese and a house salad. The pizza was perfectly done & had just the right amount of cheese on it. The salad with provel cheese on it is good with any dressing, but their creamy garlic Italian is sooooo good! What is it with pizza places having a fabulous signature dressing?!? The restaurant is kind of an older vibe. It reminds me of restaurants we went to when I was a kid. The service was good. They were nice but not too chatty. The pizza wasn't ready when I got there & I felt comfortable sitting there waiting. I'd honestly have bumped this up to a 5 star review if it was like $8 less. I've seen a vast improvement of overall staff friendliness, consistent hours, and acknowledging regular costumers. It seems to be a more welcoming,less hectic and nice place of business. The salads are still amazing,which made me return after a lengthy absence. We introduced our kids to IMO's pizza last summer, in St. Louis, on our way back home from a big, family summer vacation! They loved it so much that the local shop has become one of our go-to family supper stops! For the uninitiated, two things make an IMO's pizza really stand apart from the rest: their highly special, proprietary (I assume!) cheese recipe, and their ESPECIALLY thin crust approach! My son LOOOOOOVES to have IMO's because he currently judges his manhood by how many dozen pieces he can down at a given meal! Jokes notwithstanding, the pies here really are a fun treat, even for a pizza outing, and kids really do love being able to scarf all the MORE pizza (who doesn't?!?) during any given occasion. This particular location has a hard-working staff that is always kind, helpful, and prompt with the pizza-making arts. The dining room is very "old school" pizza joint. I grew up eating Imo's pizza in St. Louis but live in Texas. I'm in town with a bunch of Texanso for a softball tournament and I told them all about Imo's and that they had to try it. Some local KC folks chimed in and dogged on the quality. I assured them that these locals were mistaken. Imo's did not disappoint! The service was fantastic. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. Better than that, the food was outstanding and proved me right. All the Texans loved the food and the experience. We had pizza, toasted ravioli, chicken wings, house salad, and the manager even brought us some complimentary cinnimos (my first time for these - so amazingly delicious). The Square Meal Deal (large 2-topping square pizza and 16 toasted ravioli) is a good value. Everyone raved about their food. I'm gonna have to go back before I head back to Texas. read more

I asked a local where I could get a St Louis Style (crispy thin crust) pizza in Kansas City. My lucky day this St Louis transplant said "You gotta go to Imo's". It was exactly as expected. Saltine cracker like crust, cut in squares, I stead of mozzarella cheese it's made with provolone. At Louis Style pizza in Kansas City!!! Yay. In all honesty though, even though this is the "original" St Louis Style pizza, I preferred the taste and perfection of the Dominos thin crust pizza. It's actually an improved tasting version of IMO's and also cut in squares just like IMOs been doing for 50 years. read more

2.5 is about the best I can give. Let me start by saying I was born and raised in St. Louis, MO and the St. Louis style pizza is my favorite. I have to be honest and say while I lived in St Louis I ate Imo's one time. it was so long ago I have no idea how it was. For reference my favorite St. Louis style pizza in STL was Cusamano's pizza. It was behind my house in Glasgow village. Ahhh memories. Also Ponticello's was good too. Now that I have given away my STL North county roots on to Imo's. I was in KC visiting family and we had wanted to do a STL leg but due to time could not. I was missing my city and decided to get Imo's. We got the 4 square which is a large one topping pizza, salad, garlic bread and toasted ravioli. If you are from St. Louis you know toasted ravioli is basically it's own food group. First they forgot the salad. Second the garlic bread was a hoagie cut in 2 with sliced cheese that was not even fully melted on it. Slight garlic/butter taste. The pizza was meh. Probably the most like what I remember Imo's being a million years ago. But the saddest part? The toasted ravioli. It was limp and not toasted. It was so sad. Did I eat it? Yes. But it legit tasted like some Luisa's that was not cooked all the way. I will not be eating Imo's again when I come to KC and will save my STL pizza cravings for the actual city. read more

I ordered a small pepperoni pizza for takeout and it was one of the worst tasting pizzas I've had in a long time. The flavoring is gross and you could hardly tell there's pepperoni on it because of all the cheese. read more

Website says they close at 10pm Friday-Saturday. Menus say they close 10pm on Friday-Saturday. We called around 8:30 to ask their hours and tell them we were coming. They said they closed at 9:30. Fine. Arrived at 8:57 and they said the dining room closes at 9 and they denied us dine in. I'm not sure what hot date they're trying to get to, but super unprofessional. read more

I've always like Imo's, but the last couple visits they have really stepped up their game. Had one of the best Imo's pizza's ever recently, and a second visit was nearly as good. I'm guessing new management or carry-out only has increased their focus, and now the crust is coming out nice and crispy. Makes a world a difference, and will keep the in regular rotation as long as they keep delivering like this. read more

There was a pizza place that used provel cheese called George's pizza, at 95th and metcalf and my son and i always got provel cheese with Canadian bacon and sausage, loved it. They have gone the way of progress with all that has changed in that area, new stores etc. Imos pizza is close but its not the same, so i do like the provel cheese they use and the Canadian bacon and sausage but the sauce it just a tad bit different, maybe a little too sweet. I do recommend this place , its pretty good but i just cant go above three stars, the store is nice, the people are good, the food is ok. But for me (and I know its selfish).....i cant change my old memories and put this place in there with them So go have a good pizza and maybe one day i can let go and just accept it as it is read more

I LOVE Imo's. Unfortunately we don't have any locations in Denver so I was super excited since I was in town for a wedding to go get my favorite pizza. Seriously love it so much we often have it shipped to our house. We went in today and our pizza was totally overcooked and burnt. The manager who seemed he didn't give a flip about anything brought us a second pizza....which was also.....over cooked and burnt. Manager didn't even come back out to ask how our second pizza was....What a huge disappointment. Is it because people in Kansas don't know how to make St. Louis style pizza? read more

Super cute interior! We just love the toasted ravioli here... always a crowd pleaser. We also enjoy the thin crispy pizza with its signature provel cheese... we gobble it all up. Next time I'll have to purchase the Imo's salad dressing because my son devoured his salad! Always a good sign. read more

This was my first experience with St. Louis style pizza, which features a thin, crispy crust, Provel cheese, toppings to the edge, and square cuts. I thought the Provel cheese (reminded me of Velveeta) over-powered any pepperoni flavor. I like thin crust, so I thought the crust was tasty, but I missed the outside edge of the crust, which is available on other pizza styles. The service was friendly, and quick. My 8" pizza was ready in about nine minutes, which gave me time to get a drink and finish my salad. The interior was nicely done, with classic rock background music. The lunch special (8" one-topping pizza with salad and a drink) for $6.89 (M-F 11-2) was a pretty good deal, but I'm just not a fan of this style of pizza. read more

I don't like provel cheese, so this was something I had to get used to when eating their pizzas as-is. But, I've started ordering their pizza with just mozzarella and it's fantastic! But when you do that I feel like they don't compensate for the lack of provel, so you don't always end up with as much cheese as you'd like. read more

IMO's is amazing. I will drive 20 minutes out of my way just to go to this location. This pizza is unlike any I've ever tasted. The provel cheese puts this pizza on another level. My husband and I always order the 16" half cheese / half hamburger and onion and a large house salad with their house dressing. OMG it is so good, you guys. The only downside is they don't deliver to Prairie Village, so I can't order it every single day. Other than that, IMO's will always be my favorite pizza chain and I live and die for that Provel. read more

I ordered at the counter and waited at the bench by the door.... They didn't even let me know it was ready - I went up to the counter after 15 min and they pulled it out from the warmer. Strike 1. The house salad is yellow/white iceberg with a ton of cheese. Strike 2. The veggie pizza is mediocre at best. The toasted ravioli may be their saving grace, but not worth going back here for it. It is terrific that St. Louis style pizza is available in the KC area. The pizza and salad were yummy as always. It would be nice if this location offered a gluten free option as some of the STL locations do. This busy location can use a bit of an update. The decor likely has not been refreshed since its opening. Their photo brag wall needs to be updated as it contains an expired Food Establishment License. Also employees definitely need to wear t-shirts rather than tank tops and spandex especially when reaching over plates to put a pizza down. Yuck. read more
