The egg was creamy and perfect inside a taco, the cheese was good, the meat was amazing. I don't think it's possible for me to be happier with roughly $9 in breakfast food. I will make it a point, even if it's not on my way, to visit Pit Room every time I'm in the Houston area going forward. It is a destination restaurant, in my opinion!

You then move further along to ask for your sides, including as many slices of plain white bread as you want. My daughter treated us this time, so didn't record prices, but thought it was reasonable. I liked the sliced brisket a lot, along with the side of elote corn and mac n cheese. The free toppings bar had the various pickled vegetables that really cut through the fattiness of the meat. Drinks were all self serve, with a water station and soda fountain. Probably ordered a bit less than expected for 4 people, but was happy that there were no left overs, and left not completely stuffed, since we had a long day ahead of us. I've tried those deemed "the best," including Salt Lick in Driftwood and Killen's. So how did CorkScrew measure up? In addition to the beef rib, we tried the moist brisket, pulled pork, and sausage. We also tried several sides, including those recommended in the Michelin review: potato salad, mac and cheese, smokey beans, and coleslaw, and I picked up a peach cobbler, as well.
