Excellent place to shop for appliances. Winchester store is spotless, everything well arranged, attentive staff. They will service anything you buy from them. About the only drawback is that they don't necessarily pre-check all their items, so you may occasionally have to call them in to deal with something (like dud icemakers) that should have been caught before putting the appliance on the floor. (They did fix mine, after clearing it with the warranty people, and it is now working properly.) read more

Buyer beware, these guys are dishonest to say the least!!! Recently purchased a gas range from them. The installers the sent to hook up range did work illegally without getting the required gas permit for building inspections department. Didn't do work according to code. When I contacted the Frederick County Building Inspector, was told installers have never pulled a permit. When I contacted them to fix the problem, they refused. So if you don't mind worrying about your house blowing up for illegal work, go ahead and use these clowns!!! read more

Great customer service and speedy delivery, exactly when they promised it. I made the mistake of buying the last refrigerator from a big box store and when it started to have problems, no one was available to fix a Samsung in this area. Spichers services their own appliances, which is much more expedient than contacting the big box store and then having them serve as a middle man to contact the company to try to find a repairman. The sales staff at Spichers was patient with my many questions and offered insights when I asked for them. All of my appliance purchases will be from Spichers. read more

I have a new double oven and had issues with it maintaining temp. I also could not change the rack location. The tech found an option to change the style of my racks so I can reposition them without a problem. I am a senior citizen and did not have the strength to adjust the locking racks. As for the temp, the newer ovens are not as insulated so simply opening the door to add food will result in lower temps. I bake so the oven door is opened quite often as baked goods go in and out. I feel that the tech understood my issues and tried to find solutions. He was great! read more

We purchased a microwave from Spichers in February 2021. In November it stopped heating food. We called them. The service technician came and ordered the part for it. Needless to say the part never came in. Finally after we contacted them at the beginning of this month about it the technician came out with a part which did not work because it was the wrong one. So the following week he showed up with two different parts and put the part it in. It worked for less then a week. We called back and the technician came back out only to tell us it wasn't the control panel that he originally thought it was the magnet in the back. Also he proceeded to tell us that now the microwave is out of warranty so it's on us. They gave us the number for GE. So basically they kept us on hold since November until March just to tell us sorry it's now out of warranty and they won't stand behind it. read more

Don't get me wrong, I like Home Depot for a lot of things, but Spicher's is my 'go to' for appliances. 2 reasons- The sales team is consistently friendly, informed and remembers what your personal appliance purchases were. Their warranties are convenient to schedule, actually cover stuff without service fees and service techs are employees of Spichers's. Whenever I go in to the store Bill, one of the sales team members, always asked about the fridge I purchased. A few days ago I had a problem with the fudge cooling. I stopped by Spichers to ask them about it. They scheduled a service call for the next morning @ 8:30a. Mark showed up and he had it completely fixed within 30 minutes. Really nice person to have in the house too. He was pleasant, focused and interested in solving the fridge problem. Bonus- our German Shephard gave him the all clear too. Glad to have Spichers in town for all our appliance needs. read more

Spichers Appliance is the place to go for any appliance need. They sell you basic appliances that you will find in Sears, Lowes, etc., they also sell those very high end appliances such as SubZero, Wolf, Viking, etc. You also get true expert help from the staff, which is never the case in the large box stores. The folks at Spichers truly know their product and deliver without any high pressure sales pitches. My wife and I recently needed a new washing machine after ours stopped working after 12 years. We shopped HHGregg, Home Depot, Lowes, Sears, Best Buy all prices were in the same ballpark but had decided on a machine from Lowes. At the last minute we decided to visit Spichers. We figured the prices would be high but there might a "scratch and dent" that would fit our budget. We were surprised that Spichers prices were the lowest in town, we saved $200 on the same machine; 30 minutes later we had made our purchase and had set up free delivery, installation for the net washer and disposal of the old one. Installed a microwave they have had to come out multiple times to fix. Last time, they had to replace burnt wires. When asked how just replacing the wires would solve the problem of whatever is causing them to burn, they said to just call GE about it if we were concerned. Would've been nice to offer to replace the obviously lemon microwave. read more

Honestly, I used to hear great things about this place. I have no clue why. My husband went in for a replacement washer. We do a lot of laundry, as our home and business require a lot. Going in we know to expect to spend more on a heavy duty washer as we put them through a lot. We purchased a washer, from Spicher's and hauled the old one back to them. When I went in to ask were to return it, three people ignored me. One finally walked over to ask what I needed as if it was an inconvenience. Whatever, everyone has bad days. No help offered, I pulled around back and unloaded a heavy duty washing machine from a pick-up by myself. (Thanks!) Just before the 1 year mark, it stopped working. We waited a month, an entire month, for the repair to be done. Ah so happy to finally be back in commission.... except after 3 loads, it stopped working again. After my husband went back in and let them know, we got the "It is a year old" excuse, then the well we have to call the warranty company and a few other excuses. They gave us a loaner. We got ours back yesterday, said there was nothing wrong with it. Guess what isn't working today? Less than 24 hours and 3 loads.... Another family member went to the store. Conveniently, the store manager had just left and wouldn't be back until Monday and no way to contact him because he works all week (don't we all...). A tech got snarky and came back out to the house. He did apologize after it would not work for him either. I'll give him that. The solution we were given now, was a surge protector. Which it ran without for nearly a year.... so we'll try that... I am a huge fan of supporting small businesses, but honestly, I'll never shop here again. The inconvenience sucks. The rudeness shown to my family is inexcusable. read more

We recently purchased a refrigerator and couldn't be more impressed with the seamless handling of every aspect of this purchase from the 2 young men who showed up on time, installed it and took the time to go over any questions we had. They also took our old one away with them and cleaned up spotlessly. Local Spichers = Useless! I called them about a year ago due to our refrigerator's freezer not keeping items cold enough during the summer months. They informed me that if I did not buy the refrigerator from them (it came with our house) they could not help us. Now, about a year later, it seems our whole refrigerator is broken! All our food is warm and spoiled. So don't waste your time with Spichers unless you bought your appliance there. read more

Very disappointed! Had a difficult situation for an OTR microwave and wanted to get the help of an appliance professional to figure it out. Granted I arrived 5 minutes before closing time and still had my dirty shorts and pull over on after a full day of mowing. (I own the mowing company.) Even though there were 3 sales people not one of them greeted me, asked if I needed help, or even acknowledged that I was in the store. If they read this they will know I was there because I could hear them talking about smoking regulations and Hayfield restaurant. Its a shame because I was ready to spend money in their store. I ended up at Lowes and although it to two people to help me solve the situation I left with a nice microwave oven and a pretty good idea for a solution. When we moved here almost 6 years ago, Spichers was recommended as the place to buy appliances. I bought a GE washer, dryer and extra refrigerator. I have had problems with all of them but this review is not about GE, it is about Spichers. For the freezer not keeping things frozen, including the ice cream, I was told it was because it was Butter Pecan and it had butter in it. The washer, not completely filling when marked for a heavy load, I was told it was a water saving device. I don't know how running two loads of laundry instead of one is water saving. When clothes were shrinking, it was suggested that it was what might be going in our mouth. Putting a temperature gauge in the dryer, it was discovered that even at the low heat setting, the clothes were coming out almost too hot to touch. Now the dryer is not working at all and I'm a week out before Spichers can come out. No more GE for me and it's doubtful Spichers will do any more repairs after this. read more

On November 20 of last year I called Spichers' service department (in Winchester) to look at my dishwasher (which I had purchased from them less than two years prior) because it wasn't washing well. A repair person came, and he diagnosed that it needed a new dispenser. He returned on Dec. 7 to install it. It did not fix the problem. I called again on Dec. 8 to say that it was still broken. He came again on Dec 12th. This time he said it needed a new wash motor and a new controller, both very expensive parts. In fact, someone else from Spichers came to give me that news and ask if I'd just like to get a new one instead. And also to say that I was going to be charged another $119 service call fee (which I thought was unfair as he should have fixed the problem the first time). The total was up around $650. Having already sunk $200 into this dishwasher I couldn't at that point give up and get a new one. But if he had told me all this at the first service call I certainly would have just chosen a new one and I'd be happily washing dishes now. So, they ordered the parts. On Dec. 26 the repairman returned to install the parts. By the time he was done he said that the washer didn't, as it turned out, need a new wash motor (or controller--I can't now remember which he installed and which he said it didn't need) but instead needed an only slightly cheaper part--the user interface--that wasn't broken before he started working on it! So now, my dishwasher was still not fixed, and he's replacing a thing that used to work. I emailed Spicher's and they checked on the part, finding out that it would be in the following week (a four week wait, total) and they clarified that I wouldn't be charged another $119 service fee, but made no other overtures to make sure I was getting good customer service. He came in put the user interface in. He said it was fixed. I washed dishes that night and it was NOT fixed. Still had the SAME PROBLEM I'd originally called them about. I called them in the morning and (to their credit) they came right over that same day and worked on it again. Finally figured out it was a piece of glass in the motor preventing it from spraying the water around. They removed that and cleaned and oiled the motor and it appears to work now. That means he replaced THREE parts I DID NOT NEED, and set me back more than $500 for a problem that he should have found and fixed on that very first service call. This is truly one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I am extremely disappointed. I like to try to use local businesses as much as possible, but this experience is definitely making me re-think that. read more
