The bill was sent via text to me which allowed me to stay home and tend to other matters instead of driving 60 miles to Winchester. I own a duplex which means I have double the number of appliances. I know who to call next time one needs repairing. And I'll bet anything, I'll have to call just one time.

I called another company about repairing my refrigerator that wasn't cooling below 50 degrees. The…read moreperson on the phone didn't seem to understand the problem leaving me with no confidence in that companies competence. I called Estes, Sam (owner) answered, listened, gave what he thought the problem might be but assured me that whatever the problem was he could repair it. He gave me a window of arrival time that afternoon saying that he would call me when he was on his way. He called, arrived, took a few minutes to check the refrigerator and gave me his diagnosis. It was a relatively simple problem which he repaired in about an hour. While he was working he explained why that problem happened and recommended that if it happens again within a few years we should consider replacing our refrigerator with another brand. He explained why he suggested not replacing our refrigerator with the same brand due to it's inherent design deficiencies. Sam was extremely efficient and when he gave me the bill I was very pleased with the fairness. I can't say enough positive things about Sam and Estes.

About the only drawback is that they don't necessarily pre-check all their items, so you may occasionally have to call them in to deal with something (like dud icemakers) that should have been caught before putting the appliance on the floor. (They did fix mine, after clearing it with the warranty people, and it is now working properly.)

We tried several companies, all of which either said they did not work on our type of oven or they were too booked to come before Thanksgiving. Then we called A&M Appliance. Ahmad (who is great) communicated with me via text to hear about the issue and schedule an appointment (he is extremely responsive). What a shame. I've used Mikes repairs for 5 years now and in the past. The company is run by…read moreNathan and his son Eddie and they've been great. He has done a lot of work for me and in March 2020, I paid him $7000 for a new forced air a/c unit and humidifier. I called Nathan a couple of months ago because the humidifier I paid him $1600 to install isn't working. It hasn't worked properly since the day it was installed and he's been out to fix it a couple of times Since. I called him in July because the humidifier had completely stopped and Was displaying an error message. He did not show up to two appointments and he stopped answering my calls until I switched off my caller display. Then he answered right away. He did finally admit that he was stacked out with work because it was so hot so my humidifier wasn't a priority. I wasn't happy with that and I think that shows a lack of customer service but I rolled with it. At the weekend, I noticed my a/c unit which Nathan installed in 2020 was leaking water. I called and spoke to Nathan and he said he would be out today between noon and 2pm. I took the afternoon off work and guess what, he hasnt showed up again. It's 5pm as I write this. Nathan has not returned a voicemail or text message and I'm so annoyed. On the receipt, I got for the initial installation, Nathan wrote '2 year labor warranty/5 year warranty on humidifier'. On the receipt for the A/C unit, it reads '2 year labor/10 year warranty on parts, labor and compressor'. I guess theres no point having a warranty if you can't get the guy to show up. Im still hoping Nathan does the right thing so I can delete this review.
