Clockwise: Beef tripe, crab meat pork soup dumpling, and black truffle shrimp dumpling

This place used to be Emperor's Palace. The new management kept the same concept of serving dim sum and the interior decors. There are no carts being pushed around, but rather, you'd order the dim sum from the menu. There's also regular dishes from their other menu. The tables next to us ordered off the regular menu and everything looked amazing. We came to try the dim sum and only ordered from their dim sum menu. The dim sum selections are limited, but unique. There's a few items that you cannot find at LiWah or Boloong. We really liked the black truffle shrimp dumpling, crab pork meat soup dumpling, and pork and shrimp siu mai. Even though the menu claimed to be "crab pork meat soup dumpling", I didn't taste or see any crab meat in the soup dumpling. The roast duck spring rolls are good. It's pretty much roasted duck with green onions rolled up and deep fried. We didn't really care of the beef tripe and plain chang fun. The beef tripe was well seasoned but not cooked through. It was still very tough and rubbery when you chew. The plain chang fun was the worst of all the items we ordered. The texture was super chewy, more like they had more tapioca than rice flour in the batch. It was so chewy that I almost choke trying to swallow it. We won't be ordering it again. The service was extremely slow! There were only 3 workers when we dined: the hostess, the bus lady, and the server (whom appeared to be the owner). We initally thought the bus lady was the server and wanted to place our order through her. But she then spoke in broken English that she cannot take orders. We had to wave the hostess down to place an order. It took 15-20 minutes for the first 3 items to come out, then another 10 minutes for 2 more. We then place another order with 3 items and it took the same time, super slow and long in the world of "dim sum". I don't recommend on dining here unless you're willing to wait. It's too expensive. For a table of 5, you can easily spend over $100 on dim sum. By the way, do not order hot tea! They charged us $2.95/person for hot tea and it tasted very weird. The receipt read "chrysanthemum tea" but there was no flower in the tea pot. It had a chemical taste to it and super orangey looking.

Fantastic space with lots of gold inlay to make the room pop. The space was mostly empty for a late weeknight but we were seated quickly and our food was prepared fresh and hot. Dim sum and cashew chicken were our orders. We had a vegetarian dumpling as well as some shrimp with rice noodle and chicken shu mai. We will be back for sure to try some new items that looked amazing.

As far as major cities go I've had Chinese food in NYC Chinatown, SF Chinatown, Dallas, and…read moreHouston. Li Wah does not disappoint! Authentic as can be as far as aesthetics, service, and food. The pork buns may be some of the best I've had and on par with anything better. The texture was perfect moist, soft, and airy. The pork did not deviate from well done traditional dim sum and there was no surprise flavor alteration. The pork was sliced, not scrappings, well cooked, and fresh. The wonton soup was good, I've had better, but really good. The chicken low mein was good, I've had better, but it shouldn't disappoint you at all! The dumplings had a great flavor profile with a welcoming hint of ginger. If you're looking for authentic Chinese food look no further!

There was one particular time dinning here when the service was terrible, our wait time was egregiously long, and to top it off, the staff were really rude to my parents (the nicest, calmest people). That self-induced ban lasted almost 2 decades and I came back in 2022 at the invitation of my daughter's friend's family. The place was SWARMING and we had to wait for our table. There is free parking but it's limited and usually full up on the weekend. Cart service was quick but I had to go over to the dessert ones to get them to come to our table. Offerings were pretty standard and thankfully, the taste was overall pretty good. Nothing was cold, everything was steaming hot. Wish they had a few more items to select from. The restaurant space should be expanded by now since they are so popular. It's impossible to walk around with all the big tables and people squeezed together. Afterwards, I bought all the kids boba smoothies from their bar in the corner (smart thing to have apart from the dim sum). They upped their prices over the years but portions are the same. Still more affordable than Lao Sichuan in Pinecrest but not impressed with the auto 18% added to the bill (because...weekends?). Cleveland needs more dim sum options! I have dined here for dinner once upon a time as well and I remember the dishes being pretty good and authentic but those memories are from circa 1999-2000 so back in ancient times.

Very huge portion sizes and unique twist on classic dishes! Our server was so sweet and took great care of us. We ordered lots of things to share and ended up boxing a lot because it was so much food. Very pretty interior design with beautiful Buddha and teapot figurines on a tall wall, and Asian lanterns/flags hung every wear. Good restaurant for pictures!

Was very delicious, crispy skin and jucy meat. Came with a spice powder dip. You order via qr code that's on the table corner. Have a decent selection of drinks too. Solid options with ability to adjust sweetness and ice level. Also got their spicy dumplings, came pipping hot. Decent. Ordered a soup noodle. Their noodles come out in a bowl seperated from the soup. Kind of nice so it's not just sitting and getting bloated. Also nice for take out to be able to have them seperated so noodles aren't again just sitting in soup and getting bloated. Forgot which one I got but it came with a huge piece of bone with meat. Had a bit of a hard time getting the meat off, def had to go in with my hands. Bowls are a bit weird to me, kind of reminds me of elevated dog bowl. Definitely will come again for that fried chicken and need to try their other dishes.
