Chicken Bryani was excellent today as always, the portion is huge for $8. Three people can eat, or you save left overs for next day. The garbanzo bean side dish, with the crunchy onions on top is my absolute favorite thing there! A must when visiting Spice and Curry. I also picked up my favorite flavor incense Goloka is the brand and Nature's Nest is the flavor, you know what I mean. Incense $1.99. The owner is always friendly and helpful. Today a lady checked me out and gave me free sample of different flavor incense to try. I love this place. Best customer service. Oh I can't forget the guy behind the counter in the back, where the hot food is. He is always very nice and so helpful, he is so generous with his portions and tips about the different sauces and the food they prepare. read more

After reading all these good reviews i tried to check this place out after class from FIU since it's only 3 min. Woow what a huge disappointment i walked in to the grocery store and first of all no one says HI and the actual store is an complete mess, spices and roti's everywhere, so cluttered . Ok i walked in the back of the store, where there were two spanish guys working, which i initailly thought was weird especially when i asked them just as a test what pani puri was and they couldn't assist me further. Oh well i asked if the naans were fresh or frozen, he admitted they were frozen, then i asked if the veggie curries was fresh, he hesitated on answering. My assumption is NO. I believe everything from the samosas, curries and naans everything is frozen just as what they sell in their frozen section. Horrible i did not eat and walked out, my stomach turned of seeing their kitchen are, not clean at all. FYI i am Indian as well i know what real indian food is , i don't understand why someone would pay $7 for a lunch package of everything that it consists of is frozen. read more

I and my hubby were looking for Fastfood and looking at good reviews on Yelp and being short of time and closeby to our hotel, we thought to give this place a try. came to this place by accident one day and I'm in love with it! indian grocery (of which there are too few in Miami) with a cafe in the back. Probably not a good place to take someone who isn't a 'hole in the wall aficionado.' But for those of us who appreciate such places, you will be pleasantly surprised. Had an AWESOME lunch there recently. Great home-made samosas, very good lentil soup, excellent curries (one with chicken and spinach and I forget the other but it was good.) had a feast with a friend who is also a big eater and the entire tab was less than $20. also bought some indian spicy peanuts from the grocery, and ate it all within two days and now need to go back for more..... two thumbs up! read more

I love coming here for lunch! For $7 I get a hefty amount of food and leave extremely satisfied. Sure it's not your typical sit down restaurant, but it sure is good. Mukunda is a wonderful soul- he is the man that cooks all of the marvelous food. I love sitting here after class and enjoying a nice meal. Try the vegetarian option! I got stuff from here that I found was infested with mould and when I went back to return it the owner did not even have the courtesy to acknowledge his mistake. It's a grocery store and mini restaurant/bar all in one. The cook/owner is extremely friendly and very helpful. Lunch is very well priced for a great meal. The chickpeas are crazy good! That was probably my favorite thing there. Luckily, my job is very nearby so it's convenient to come here. He cooks interesting meats (i'm a veggie) but everything else is great! After leaving New York and moving to Miami I thought I would never find affordable Indian food again. I visited NYC again and ate Indian food there after a long time of not having any and my stomach was awakened with my need for Indian food. So when I came back, my search in Miami began. At first I was disappointed, most places were subpar and over priced. But, then I found Spice n Curry and all was good once again. This place is great! Every time I've eaten here it has been a good experience. The food is delicious and best of all, it's cheap. 7 dollars for a meal. How can you beat that?! The answer is: you can't. Worst Indian grocery I have ever visited in my life. They sell out of expiry products, the toast I got were expiring on January 2019 and they sold it to me on July 2019. The lays chips tasted so old with no expiry date written on them. Items aren't organized and no place to walk to find the right item. It's like everything is dumped in one small room. read more

This is the real deal Indian groceries in Miami. In such a large city with so many people, it surprised me that there are not that many Indians and even less Indian restaurants and grocery stores. Spice N Curry has everything that you need for Indian cooking. They even have tons of frozen food and drinks. In the back of the store, they have a small menu with fresh food that you can buy. Spice N Curry is awesome! I came to Miami in August 2012 and had not been able to find a good Indian grocery store or any affordable Indian restaurants since I moved here. This place is small and friendly, has a great Indian grocery selection, and the cooked food in the back is awesome. My first visit was to buy groceries and I was pleasantly surprised at the variety they have stocked here. Don't be afraid to peek in the refrigerators and freezers in the back, which may look like something you would find in someone's house rather than in a grocery store (aka. they don't have glass doors on them like Publix or Winn Dixie). There's plenty of goodies hidden here! My second visit was to try the prepared food. The dining room consists of 4-5 wooden stools at a bar. The menu is listed on a dry erase board on the wall. I can't recall every single menu item but I know they offer various curries, nann (Indian flatbread), samosas, and a DELICIOUS chick pea side dish. On my visit, I chose the mutton meal which for $8 included curried goat, about 2cups of colorful rice, 1 piece of warm naan, an incredible chick pea side dish, a chopped spiced tomato and onion garnish, and a can of soda. After finishing this meal at about 2pm, I did not feel hungry again until 9pm. Oh, and have I already indicated that it is also really really good? If not, please note. The cook (also the owner I presume) is very friendly and personable to boot. His food, he told me, is prepared as he would at home. :) As someone who lives by the 'Anthony Bourdain' philosophies (food is a window to culture, try everything- you never know when or where you will find something amazing, chain restaurants suck, etc.), I would like to cordially give Spice N Curry an A+. read more

I had to look around for an Indian market here in town. I was pleasantly surprised by this small, strip mall grocery. Lots of stock, pretty much everything a person who enjoys learning how to cook Indian food would need: rice, lentils, curry spice packs, ghee, fresh vegetables, naan. Everyone working there was very helpful and friendly and made a "gora" like me feel welcome. I definitely recommend this place. read more

Negative 5 stars is more like it. Cramped, disorganized, dirty, and run by an individual who clearly takes no pride in his business. If you happen to be of the Caucasian persuasion, you are much more likely to have your questions answered and be rung up in a timely manner - and the owner probably won't stay on his phone the entire time you are transacting your business, roll his eyes at you, or give you attitude since ringing you up is clearly distracting him from his very important conversation - no, that kind of treatment is reserved for those of us blessed with copious amounts of melanin. I haven't quite figured out if this disturbingly persistent trend among brethren from the Indian sub-continent is a remnant of British imperialism, simple self-hatred, or inextricably the result of both, but I simply have no tolerance for minorities who choose to pander after others like their money is somehow greener than mine. The only reason this shop is functioning is because there are no other indian grocery stores in the city. Period. It's still NOT OK for you to take undue advantage of your customers by charging them ridiculous amounts of money for expired groceries and oil-drenched samosas served alongside runny, watery chutney. $10 minimum on a credit card? Give me a break. I wasn't letting him have it so I kept what I had to buy and walked out the store. This owner would rather lose a customer than sell his goods. Just shows what a shoddy business sense he has. The store is super expensive. Trust me, take a trip to Fort Lauderdale/Sunrise/Lauderdale and you'll be glad you did. Hell, I'd rather drive all the way there and get a bang for my buck, better service/greater variety and a much cleaner store than go back to this dump. I have reason to believe that the cashier (same guy) at the counter is less than honest. Please take a close look at your bill, you WILL be charged more than the listed price on the wall. When you aren't paying attention, an extra $1 or $2 will be added to items and your final bill will mysteriously be higher than expected. On top of this, the final bill does not clearly show which item the charge was for, it shows a generic '01' for every purchase. I think this enables them to keep up the swindling. I can get over the the dirty shop, the shady neighborhood and even a few unexpired items, but what I can't stand is dishonesty and disrespect. My humble request to the owner. Really great lunch stop! My co-workers and I were looking for something different and this was recommended. I had the Chicken meal and they had the Mutton meal. Both were delicious!! My meal came with Chicken, Choley, curry rice and a big buttery piece of naan. The place is small, so a big group wouldn't be comfortable, but the food was really tasty.
