We recently tried the Lunch Special Unlimited Thali at Namaste Miami in Coral Gables, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The thali comes as a platter-style meal with a combination of chef's choice appetizers, lentil curries, rice, naan, and dessert--all with unlimited refills. The variety included chicken masala, chana masala, lentil curries, tandoori chicken, and garlic naan. Every dish was flavorful, well-balanced, and clearly made with care. The dessert, Rice Kheer (Indian rice pudding), was a perfect ending--creamy, lightly sweet, and very comforting. It added a traditional and authentic touch to the whole meal. What really stood out was the value--at just $21.99 , it's incredibly reasonable for the quality and the unlimited portions. You can request refills of any individual dish, and the portions are just right so you can try everything without feeling overwhelmed. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the service overall was outstanding, which made the meal even more enjoyable. Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon with a friend and absolutely loved everything. The music is Indian perfection, I'm obsessed with the wallpaper, and our waitress who I think might also be the owner was amazing. It was about a 20-minute drive, and we were lucky to find convenient roadside parking near the restaurant. First Impressions: When we entered Namaste Miami, the place wasn't too crowded, which initially made us hesitant about our choice. However, we decided to stay, and we're so glad we did! It turned out to be a hidden gem with fantastic food and great service. The Dining Experience: We began our meal by ordering some basic and infant-friendly options for our little one, including Yellow Dal and rice. For ourselves, we chose appetizers like Chilli Chicken and Chicken Tikka. The Yellow Dal and Rice arrived quickly, and it was exactly what we hoped for--light, flavorful, and homemade. What a sweet lil mom n pop Indian restaurant. I thought I knew of ALL the Indian spots, but this slipped my radar, until today. The service was fast and friendly. My friend and I decided to have their unlimited thali vegetarian dish. You receive a butter nan, basmati rice, a lentil soup, and two other vegetable dishes, as well as a pudding. Went here with some friends to hang out and eat. Service was really good and the food was so good I forgot to take a pic before we were done. I had a tikka misala cause I'm basic with naan (tried Garlic, butter, and bullet which is their spicy naan), a desert that reminds me of papa rellena (basically like a potato ball), Tandoori chicken, some lamb. Basically we all shared different things. For the saucy things like the tikka masala you can choose spicy level from 1-5. I love spicy so mind what ill say next but i found it to be the perfect level of spice and flavoir. I did get a runny nose cause of it but it comes with the territory. When you eat in as a group it's almost unlimited rice to accompany your sauce as we otriginally got a bowl and we were able to ask for additional without extra charge when we finished it. They have beer available which I didn't have but my friends did and loved it. I don't remember the name but it's indian and comes in a big beer. I've always loved Indian food and when I heard great things about Namaste in Coral Gables it was immediately on my "Gotta Try List". It's a small place around the block from the Target. Parking is all on the street. They have one small table outside and inside they have about 12-15 tables so it's nothing huge. I was excited to try their Thali and even though its on their website and also I called prior to going and they confirmed that it was being offered during dinner...when I got there and asked they told me no that's it's only during lunch. So my wife and I decided to go with some other choices. As we asked about some of the dishes we felt rushed and the server was not very helpful. We asked about appetizers and he directed us to main dishes. And even when we reaffirmed these were mains he insisted they were appetizers. He even left us mid questions to take another tables order. It didn't seem he wanted to deal with us at all. Regardless we ordered. As we waited for the food I noticed from across the dining room someone eating the Thali that I was told no on. Well that was insulting. But then as we sat waiting for our food we were then asked to move to another table because they needed our table for a large party. Which by the way never arrived the whole time we were there. As for the food, we had the Butter Chicken, Mango Curry Chicken, Chicken Tenders for Little Man and Chicken Lollypops for appetizers. The Chicken Lollypops were confusing. They came out steaming yet when I bit into them they were room temperature. And although they were covered in Indian Barbecue and other spices they were quite bland. The Chicken Tenders for my kid were oddly cut in half but only on some and not others. Didn't come with fries it was just chicken strips. As for our mains, the Butter Chicken and Mango Chicken Curry were both delicious. The chicken was very tender and the heat level was just right. We were both pleased. But we were unsure why we had to pay an additional $4 for choosing chicken. I get maybe shrimp or steak but chicken? The Chicken Tenders were $10 and didnt even come with fries?!? And while on the topic of pricing, I had to chuckle when the bill came and the starting suggested tip percentage was 20%. Sir. Please. Lol. Either way, I'm giving the place 3 stars mostly on the basis of their main dishes which were really good. But many things just didn't go right and overall the experience wasn't great. It is bewildering that any restaurant putting out delicious spicy food (Namaste Special Spicy Goat Curry, Spicy Chicken Biryani, Avocado Bhel, Garlic Naan, Bullet Naan) would back that up with mediocre service. Perhaps that was a one off on that night, Saturday, September 16th, 2023. Yet the less than engaging service for our party of four and the dimly lit interior made more of an impression than the fantastic food, the spicy food. To wind the evening down we ordered more of our faves, Gulab Jamun and Kulfi. Despite the less than stellar service we were not about to leave without trying the deserts. The Chicken Biryani portion was generous, spicy, succulent. I did not have the Goat Curry. However my friend who has that on his top three Indian dishes, raved about how its tenderness and complete spice. The Bullet Naan is perfect! Obviously some food was taken to go. Another service observation that struck me was when we received plastic bags to carry our remaining meal to go whereas diners at adjoining tables were provided brown bags. We ordered take-out for our family of 5 while visiting Miami. They were out of one of the items we ordered on their website, but they substituted the item and also attempted to call us but we missed their call while we were driving. I had asked a question on my way out wondering if the subbed item had nuts in it, because of a peanut allergy and they had replied no. I do want to commend them for going above and beyond, and texting me after I left the restaurant to let us know the other items had nuts in it. We clarified the type of nut in the order, and there was absolutely no issue at all. I thank them for being so considerate about allergy issues! All of the food was delicious, except the chicken tikka masala was a bit sweeter than we are used to, still good. We loved the vindaloo with fish as well. The portions were smaller than we expected, but maybe this is standard in Miami compared to Philadelphia. Generally we can order 3 entrees and an appetizer to fill a family of 5. However, with their portions I would recommend at least 2 appetizers and 4 entrees. read more

I am a somewhat regular guest here at Namaste. Namaste has a warm staff and environment that makes so many come back. I've tried lunch platters, curries, and various naan--NOTHING ever disappoints. The food is seasoned to perfection and their meats are always tender. Their masala, butter, and paneer sauces are stellar and always leave me stuffed and trying to take in one more bite. Not worth the hype is what I'd say about the place. The unlimited thali is not a feasible option. For each dish you request after the initial plate, it takes the lone chef 10 minutes or so to get it ready. They cannot handle multiple thali orders for sure. Food was just about okay: A standard tomato onion based gravy to which they add chicken or paneer. You're better off trying a buffet option at any other indian restaurant. Also, a standard dish in any Indian restaurant happens to be Tandoori chicken. On that account, this was the most bland tandoori chicken I've had for 10 years in Florida. It was an overall disappointing experience and like another user mentioned here, od need to go elsewhere to get the bad taste out of this lumch. read more

I have a new favorite Indian restaurant. Without mentioning any names, let's just say that Namaste Miami dethroned my preferred place to eat Indian food. That's saying something, too, as this restaurant has only been around for eight months and my prior favorite has been around for years and years! I had seen a Yelper or two check in here previously, and so I bookmarked it, hoping one day to go. That day ended up being last Friday night. In typical fashion, Elian D. and I were out and about, starving and trying to figure out where to eat. He told me he could go for some Indian food, and voilà, I remembered I had bookmarked this place. It honestly was an easy decision. The restaurant at the time had a solid five-star average and who am I to disagree? Here's another five stars! Now onto the many reasons why. Although this restaurant is the literal definition of a hole in the wall (seriously they don't have a name sign outside as the permit is pending), it makes up what it lacks in presence by its character. The staff is so friendly, genuinely asking about your day and giving you suggestions as to what to order. More so, they're very accommodating. We were going to sit at a two-person table and instead they told us to go to the four-person table. It turned out to be a wise decision as we ordered a plethora of food. The menu is vast and we found some items we've never seen before. A prime example of this are the strawberry lassis we ordered. Usually these lassis only come in mango flavor but upon seeing strawberry, I had to try it and Elian followed suit. Our waiter even told us that if we didn't like them, he'd exchange them for mango ones, but seriously there was no need. I didn't even know strawberry lassis were a thing and now I think I like them better than the mango ones. As for our appetizer, we shared a chaat platter after it was suggested to us. This dish brings a little bit of everything. Chana masala, some rice, some chip-looking things, samosas, and I believe some sort of aloo pastry. I apologize for not knowing all the names. We were too busy stuffing our faces to care. Have to say though that while this sampler is nice, if you know what you like, order that. I think we hands down figured we'd go straight to the samosas next time (and maybe the chana masala - those chickpeas were seasoned so well). For our mains, I had the chicken tikka masala and he had the mango chicken curry. We asked about spice levels. Apparently they rate them 1-5 here with 1 being not spicy and 5 being spicy. I was suggested a 3, he was suggested a 4. Neither of us found our dishes spicy and so we got hot sauce on the side. That rectified the spice level immediately. I think both dishes were superb, but if you're not one for heavily sweet things, skip the mango chicken curry and go for the chicken tikka masala instead. Believe me once you have a bite, you'll be convinced. The dish was properly cooked, with a thick yet runny sauce full of flavor. Not to mention what heavy helpings of food. You won't go hungry here. As for bread, I had the garlic naan and he had the phulka chapati. Apparently this bread goes best with food as otherwise it's pretty plain. Elian enjoyed it, but the general consensus was that the garlic naan looked better, and given that we sampled each other's main dishes, the chicken tikka masala trumped the mango chicken curry. This is not to say that Elian's food wasn't tasty. It was. It's just what I ordered stole the show. Anyhow, we would've ordered dessert, but we were stuffed. That and the one dessert that tempted me they were out of. Oh well, more reason to come back very soon. read more

Well, this is probably the easiest five-star I've given in a while. Loved the food, loved the service, the space is a bit small, but the ambiance is good. The Experience: No reservation needed, we arrived a Friday night after an event. Right out of the bat, we were greeted and, even though we were two, instead of sitting us at the tiny "table-for-two" we were shown to a four-person table (spoiler: we filled it with food anyway). The server was nice and accommodating, and actually answered all of our questions and made welcome suggestions. Then let us decide. We started with a strawberry lassis,, which is a yogurt drink with strawberries. Delicious, I might add. Then we were choosing the appetizers, when the server suggested we try the 4-appetizer dish, which's name escapes me right now. It consists on one samosa and one arepa-like thing that's similar to the samosa in one quarter, curry chickpeas in another quarter, some sort of crackers with sauces and toppings on the third, and something like puffed rice on the fourth. I liked them all, but the samosa and the chickpeas were the clear winners there. For the main course, I got the Mango curry chicken and my friend got the chicken tikka Massala. We did ask the server how spicy were the spices and he answered they had 5 levels, 5 being the hottest, but gracefully avoided answering it it was "a 5, 5, or an American-5". So he suggested Foquita tried the level 3 Tikka Massala and "since the mango curry is sweet, the sweetness takes away some of the spiciness, so I'd recommend a 4". We agreed to the suggestion but he made clear we could get additional spices if we still didn't find them spicy enough. Now, I've been to restaurants with a lot of people who say they can eat their spices and then they spend the remainder of the day complaining about how they couldn't enjoy the food, so I understand how this is a complicated subject, but in all honesty, it's an American spiciness grading system. Meaning that while it would be a 5 in most restaurants here, anywhere else in the world this 4 would probably have been a 2 (a 3 at most); but true to his word, upon mentioning it, our server brought the little plate withe the extra kick, which did raise up the level. Now, what I love about this is how you don't really feel the spices mess with your taste or make you cry for water. Instead they complement the flavor, give you a little kick, and make you sweat a lot, but you still get to enjoy every single flavorful bite. By the way: Midway through the diner I tried a little bit of Foquita's Tkka Massala and she tried a bit of my mango curry. Long story shirt: I'm going to be back one day exclusively to have a full Chicken Tikka Massala dish because I loved the little I had. I will certainly recommend the Namaste to anyone, and I plan to be back every once in a while to go through the different options of their menu. Oh, I almost forget: by the time they offered desserts we were so full we couldn't really order one, but you can be sure I'll try something in the future. read more

My daughters took me here for my birthday. We had a really good experience. I'll start with the few negatives first, to move on to the positives. There was only one outside table out front, kind of uninviting, like a covid afterthought. As we have all been vaccinated, we ventured inside and the inside was small but cute. We knew there was a lunch special, but were handed the regular dinner menu, as were the other customers there. I found that to be a real negative, because they were trying too hard to up sell you lunch at dinner prices, and also because it's a shame to miss out on the great variety being served with the lunch special. We asked for the lunch specials and were handed a small one page sheet that definitely not "covid clean" menus. We all ordered the lunch special chicken. I usually look back at the menus as I write reviews, but could not find any lunch menu on the internet, which makes it very hard to review. I am not sure, but think the pricing was a little high. It was fine for a birthday lunch, but I seem to remember it being higher than your traditional "go to" lunch spot. I can't tell you what kind of chicken we had, although I can say we got "heat level #2" and it was quite mild and anyone could handle it. The chicken was in a delicious red sauce and melted in your mouth. The appetizer was a tasty samosa. The salad had a nice dressing. The special came with long grained (?probably Basmati) rice, naan bread, beans , and a doughnut hole soaked in a honey based syrup. We all left very happy with our lunch! read more
