Delicious! Want to go back already.
    Gaby F.

I had not been able to try their food. But after several attempts that finished somewhere else, I finally did. And I am so glad. Nice customer service, although short since I ordered the food to go. The food was very very tasty. I do not remember the name of what I had but it was delicious... generous portions as well. I used to live nearby and not anymore but if I am in the area I'll remember where to grab a quick lunch/dinner. Recommend!

I highly recommend this place. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. It was very flavorful and the price was reasonable. I really enjoyed the garbanzo beans as well. I see myself coming back.

Spice and curry is a true hidden gem. This is what Guy Fiery would consider a dive place. With just a few items on their specials board and only like 10 barstools this place has very good food. Hidden all the way back from the market awaits spice and curry "restaurant ". For just about 10 dollars you can have curry goat, garbanzo beans , rice, vegetables, and a yogurt like dessert. All in small portions to make a big meal. Or you can go vegan with Palak paneer or make your own combination of dishes. What I can tell you is that the food is good. Very homemade and fresh. There is also the Somosas (empanadas) filled with different ingredients. They are all good. Owner is always there and they are very nice and friendly. Good service is usual here.

New regular lunch spot. 13-15 bux for a very flavorful meal. Tried the goat curry and two chicken curries and i think every dahl. Everythings pretty awesome but I favor the chicken curries. The dahls are delicious enough to get a large and having as a meal.

Spice N Curry, they have so much stuff that if you walk too fast, I'm sure you will something....! There is so much going on in this store meaning, they sell tons of stuff.... byriani, spices, sauces, curry, vegetables, rice, etc.... although they keep pretty fresh vegetables, some items seems that they have been there for quite some time, example: garlic. The cafeteria all the way to the end... have not tried it but I am sure they do good stuff... it's the smell. Or is it the smell of the spices on the store...?!@# stop by and see what you come up with your next meal!

Authentic Indian grocery store and I recommend it for anything related to Indian cuisine. !!!! The restaurant is not serving a full menu currently !!!! I walked in starving and was disappointed to hear that as I was starving. They are redoing the kitchen will be open again to serve hot food soon. They have all ingredients needed to cook Indian dishes and even have frozen food that just needs to be heated. I'll be back for hot food soon!

This place is a small market with an even smaller area where they serve you some very delicious food. We ordered the Chicken Korma ( chicken curry), which came with yellow fried rice, a piece of Ladu, 1 papadum and a small piece of barfi. Makunda Das, the gentleman serving us, was EXTREMLY kind and provided amazing customer service. With his help we tried a vegetable samosa, pakura ( which was a bit spicy), tofu curry and palak paneer. We had naan and gulab jamun and lastly chickpeas dal. We were sooooo stuffed I was forced to unbuckle my pant button hahahaha. We also had some yummy yummy mango lassi!! The clients you could tell were regulars, they came in asking for exactly what they wanted. If you are looking for a low key place with amazing food, YOU MUST TRY this place. Major YUMMERS!!!

Simplicity is perfection. Apparently that is the mantra at Spice N Curry, the Sweetwater shop that doubles as grocery store and "chaat house". The grocery store takes up the front of the building, and here you can find more than a thousand Indian items. Walking in and to your left you'll find beans, sauces (in liquid and powder form), spices, hot sauces, soups, creams, rice, etc. There is a cooler, as you move along, with vegetables and halal meats, as well as sodas and juices. The other side of the shop has teas, snacks, beauty products, incenses and religious items. Even though this is your best source of ingredients for cooking Indian food, there is also hot food being served in the back of the store. This would be the "chaat house" part of the business. The menu here is very simple. The is curry and there is biryani. Both come in three forms, vegetarian, chicken and goat. Aside from those dishes, there are vegetarian and chicken samosas, and kachori balls*. The simple menu attracts many people from around the area. According to the owner, whose name I think is Jamal, the menu hasn't changed in the six years they have been offering it. Why fix it if it ain't broken, he says. In this fashion, he's been able to serve students, Indian nationals, artists, politicians, anyone who can handle spicy food basically. The specialty is the biryani meal, a type of Indian "arroz con pollo" that uses curry and basmati rice. If you are hungry, or rather really hungry, you could order the curry meal. That brings rice, naan bread, and chana masala, plus a little chopped onion and tomato. All is very good, and very cheap. Nothing is made to order, everything may be frozen food or microwaved food, but it is all good and cheap, and the food tastes authentic. I certainly wouldn't be appalled to find out they use pre-made sauces or stuff, because the food is made right. But my reason to come here is because there are not many good Indian restaurants around, and even though this place only serves two dishes and some snacks, there is a vibe, some type of mysticism that floats around. I come, I eat, and rest, I talk to the people here, and I feel more in touch with myself and the universe. Weird as it sound, that is how it is for me. Namaste. *: Make sure to get the tamarind chutney for your snacks. Delicious. PS: If you plan on using a credit card to pay, there is a $10 minimum. In other words, get your food, and get something else to take home, or as a gift.

Ah, I knew I could count on a good Indian market when I find one. In Miami, it's almost quite impossible to get a spot like this on your radar. As soon as you walk in, if you're not immediately captivated then you have no idea about how glorious Indian food can be. Sure, there's a few restaurants you can pinpoint as being the top in the area but the low key factor about Spice-N-Curry is what I appreciate the most. There's food sold here every da & if you look up there Instagram- you'll be informed of the daily specials. I came here for some ingredients to take home and make tikka-masala. I found it extremely affordable and authentic. I have to say that the Pistachio ice cream had me licking that popsicle like a little kid. I can't wait to try the Mutton. I press Like on this place all day! Come check it out!

Fresh, Massive Bowls Right Across from FIU…read more If you are looking for a solid spot near Florida International University that moves beyond the standard fast-casual chain, The Green Chicken is a great find. It's located right across the road from campus, making it an easy win for students or anyone in Sweetwater looking for a reliable, healthy-ish meal. The interior is pretty standard--a nondescript, counter-service setup designed for efficiency. However, the outdoor seating area is where this place really shines. It is well-shaded and shielded from the Florida sun, creating an inviting space whether you're meeting up with friends or need a spot to pop open the laptop and get some work done. The menu is surprisingly expansive, but the best way to describe the experience, at least for what I ordered, is an elevated Chipotle bowl. I went with the Jerk Chicken bowl over black beans (no rice). The Chicken had a nice, clean flavor. It wasn't seasoned to the extreme, so if you're looking for a massive spice kick, you might want to ask for extra sauce, but the quality of the meat was clear. The black beans were cooked perfectly, and all the veggie add-ins were crisp and fresh. The staff here is incredibly friendly and they clearly pride themselves on the "heavy hand"--the portions are huge. You definitely won't leave hungry. It's a great local alternative when you want something fresh, fast, and substantial.

Happy to report that Bawarchi Biryanis continues to offer buffet. In fact, several a week with different themes. Wed is biryani night, and Thur is dosa. We went to the Sunday lunch buffet which was totally satisfying, in all quantity, quality and variety. The place is really bright and clean, and the service is nice. The waiters are patient in explaining things to us and quick to refill any dishes or cutlery. There is a good variety of dishes, salad, appetizers, vegetarian and meat entrees, biryani and desserts. There's even orange juice and chai. I love that they have pani puri. It's a delicious street snack that is too much work to make at home, and even if occasional Indian restaurants have it it tends to be overpriced. Here I can enjoy to my heart's content. Some of the favorite among my group of friends: the tender goat curry, the spicy wings, the creamy butter chicken, the paper-thin papadam, the comforting semiya payasam dessert. My only complain is that the naan would be softer. Be aware that a lot of the food do pack some heat, as they have many Indian customers and cater to the authentic taste. You can add some mint chutney to take off the heat a bit, and dishes like the birayni and butter chicken do not pack any heat. Yum, just writing this review makes me want to go back already. And I am definitely checking out their other events. They are quite active on IG so you can check their offerings there.
