We showed up on a Sunday evening around 6:30 and closed the place down by 9, savoring our time and the good food. Very friendly and attentive service. I picked a dish I'd never had, a steamed shrimp and veggie dish on glass noodles with lots of ginger. Delicious and attractive. My husband's shrimp curry dish was also delicious and intense, and our friend's chicken and basil noodle dish with peanuts was a hit. The only disappointment was the appetizer platter -- a variety of ho-hum fried things without much flavor, and no peanut sauce for the two chicken sate skewers. Favorite place in Fort Worth. Meaning, if all the restaraunts in Fort Worth were closing, and you could only choose one....... This would be my choice. And there are alot of great places. (Torchy's, Spiral, Celaborrelle, Hot Damn, etc.) Alternately, if I had to choose a last meal....... This would be my selection. Order a som tum. (Green Papaya Salad). The curries are great here also, but for me the papaya salad, at level 5 spice, is heaven. Their panang curry is excellent. Tom Kha, Spicy Basil, Vegetarian duck dish, Pad Thai, Pad se ew* Three mushroom, etc., are all fair competitors, but the papaya salad here is life. Most delicious food within driving distance. (I have alot of options.) Service is top-notch here! Despite the high volume, they may recognize you on your second return! The blonde lady with glasses that bartends/manages, along with the veteran male server, are proffessionals, and deserve a 30% tip, every time! Not sure why this place is a 4 star or why it is so popular.....stood in line a while and read how the wait staff was rude...they were not rude but they were not overly nice like in most Thai places. Great menu with a lot of choices. The waitress forgot to ask is how spicy we wanted our food.... The food was bland, not bad but not 4 stars. The service wasn't bad but not great. We had mango sticky rice at another restaurant a week ago but this place says that it is out of season......it's not, why don't they just say they out. The food at Spice was good, but nothing more spectacular than any other Thai restaurant in Fort Worth. It was however more expensive.

Horrible customer service. Waitress treated us like absolute garbage when we were asking questions about the food. When asked if a dish was spicy, she looked at us like we were stupid and told us "not every dish is spicy".... And every time someone at our table told her what she wanted, she just stared at you like you were stupid before writing it down?? Also told us she wouldn't serve our 13 year old sibling orange chicken because it was a "children's plate", when that's the only thing she wanted. Who has an age restriction on food?? My dad went up to her and asked her if she could just get the plate she originally wanted because it didn't make any sense as to why they wouldn't serve her what she wanted, and the waitress started yelling "No! I will not do that!" Ended up just leaving because the service was terrible and didn't want to get our food spat in just because we asked questions. First time there and never going back. Highly do not recommend ever going here. read more

We stood in line for 10 minutes, no one took anyone's name, then two groups of 2 and 5 people came in another entrance straight to the front of the line. No one at the restaurant was managing this issue. What a waste of our time! read more

A friend of mine visited from Arizona and the place she wanted to eat was full. We were close, so we went to Spice. First off the bat, I LOVED all the different colors and cool little lights. I had the Yellow Curry, my boyfriend had the Red Curry and she had the Pad Thai. All three of us were very happy with our meals. Our server was nice and very funny. I got called basic for getting pad thai. I can't help it. It's one of those generic comfort foods for me. I've eaten at a few other Thai places around town, and Spice always satisfies consistently. I'm a take out regular and it seems when I tell anyone I'm going, I have about 5 other people giving me their take out order as well. Their lunch potions offer more variety but the portion is so tiny for the main course. At least you can order dinner anytime. read more

I love Fort Worth so much! Even more for this cute eclectic Thai restaurant. The fresh spring rolls are delicious with the thai peanut sauce. I tried the red curry with rice and chicken, it was tasty. Flavors were on point like any great Thai restaurant. Recently I went back to Spice, and it appears that they have gotten most of their issues fixed now. The food and service were both good. In fact, I ordered for 3 people even though the other 2 had not arrived yet, and I was interested in seeing how they handled that. The entrees did not come out early, and when they did come they were fresh. Obviously you shouldn't expect a fine dining experience for a $9.99 lunch special. But for what it is, Spice is very good, and I'm glad to have them in our area. read more

Wanted to try this place out, being so close to where I work. Had a late lunch and ordered the thai bbq chicken witg papaya salad. Waited a bit, but I'm guessing the chicken was actually being baked or cooked from scratch. Half chicken came out cut into pieces on a bed of romaine lettuce and papaya salad right beside it. Good presentation. Most of the pieces were crispy on the edges; moist, even on the breast pieces. I saw seasoning mostly on the inside of the chicken---looked yellow (maybe turmeric). Wasnt strong seasoning but good. Wished there was a sauce, actually, for a bit more flavor. But the papaya salad helped with that. The chopped green beans in the salad was different from any other papaya salad I've had. The salad marinade was sweet and sour but not overpowering. Veggies were limp but crispy. I hate other papaya salads when the veggies are cut too long or too stiff, hangin' out of my mouth, leaking sauce to the side of my cheek (I only like that feeling with spaghetti). Place was definitely worth the try. Only thing that kinda irked me was the music. It was all cover music. Sounded like a youtube artist playlist. Song choices were good, but the originals would've been better. I could also see how the restaurant wanted a jazzy, chill atmosphere to their clean, simple, and well-lighted environment. read more

UPDATE: I've been to lunch at Spice many times since my original review. Unfortunately the food and service have continually declined. The food lacks the "fresh made" touch and portion sizes have dwindled. Great Thai food should be fresh from the wok, steaming hot, and delicious. I've been served luke warm dishes including ice cold egg rolls on almost every outing. This a shame and easily fixed if management will pay attention. read more

What a disappointing experience. I had heard great things about Spice and was excited to try it for myself. My friends and I decided to go, however, it was almost 8pm. And I will have to say, it was a poor dining experience. Thai food is one of my favorite cuisines. The food was cooked poorly. I ordered Drunken noodles one of my absolute favorite dish and the vegetables were raw and cold. The waitress was very rude. I ask for a drink menu and never got it. We all felt rushed, which made it feel stressful. I not sure I will go back any time soon! read more

Really liked their food. I have tried Thai food at other places, but this by far is the best I have had. We had the bamboo shrimp which is shrimp wrapped in wonton wrappers and fried then served with a sweet and sour sauce. Also had the coconut soup. Really tasty. Spice! I love this place. It is addictive. I usually eat here two, three, maybe four times in a week or two, then I have to go cold turkey or I would be sitting outside waiting for them to open every morning! I suggest the basil sauce and the drunken noodles with chicken. Now, the name does not lie, the food can be spicy. You choose the spice level 1-5. Level 1 is good for almost everyone, but be careful.
