Unique place in the central NJ area for schezuan dry pot. Went on a Saturday night and staff was very attentive to taking our orders, refilling water, explaining menu items and bringing the food out quickly. As a vegetarian, it's nice to build your own pot with preferred ingredients and adjust to your spice level. If you like heat, go for the ma la hot- it's bearable without burning your mouth. read more

the tomato hotpot is amazing. my mom drank the whole soup after we finished. haha. though you have to order a tomato with the tomato soup stock. we had mild spicy, which gave the soup a little kick without compromising the sweet rich flavor. read more

Wasn't so good. Went with family and I thought it would be amazing because the pictures looked great ! But I wouldn't recommend. Wasn't worth the money. There wasn't any flavor. Ordered the stir fry and the soup. read more

Tasty and fast every time I go. Love the options. Service is quick and they don't hover. My favorite spot.

First time trying this place. Was scoping Yelp for a Chinese place in Edison that stood out. Made a motorcycle trip on a warm February day from Ocean County just for this. Ordered stir fry with Mala sauce in medium spiciness, peanuts, pork belly, tripe and lamb (very good) and tofu and napa cabbage. Food was delicious. Mild tongue numbing effect of Mala sauce. Next time I'll try the full spicy version. Absolutely loved the food! I also had the popular popcorn chicken appetizer. Very good but I'll pass on it the next time. Service was wonderful, BTW. read more

I didn't know about this place until my sister in law mentioned it so I decided to check it out with them. We ordered the seafood combo boil, and then a few other stir fry and hot pot dishes. I compared the seafood boil to Just Beclaws. The flavor was there but I would've wanted it a little spicier. The stir fry dishes were tasty but very salty. Just note, if you order the seafood boil, ask who is included because you are not guaranteed all of the seafood listed. I wouldn't come back for the boil again. Doubtful I would try the other stuff if it's just as salty.. read more

J Style Hotpot has too many veggies and the miso broth is sorta bland. Does have fish, clams, and crab, which is why price is higher. The house special pot is definitely my recommendation. Has a little bit of everything, yet again broth in the Hotpot could be a little more kicked up. The stir fry is what makes me enjoy this place. Asian fusion isn't spicy at all (sorta a chili oil sauce), again like the hot pot, the flavor here can be kicked up too. Staff on the most part did not speak English too well, so be prepared. Side sauces are too tiny in portion, so you will be constantly asking for more. read more

Visited my Friend and we decided to grab some dinner this spot ... please do yourself a favor and try the back pepper squid it's amazing . We created our pot and tried it with the garlic sauce it was delicious food is fresh and clean tasting ... we also got a fish in the Mala sauce and boy was it spicy and I love spicy so beware ... it's a no frills place . Servers attentive . Loved it read more

Very fun experience, I came here with my brother and cousin and we got the mala spice with a bunch of meats and veggies. Also tried some popcorn chicken which was good and it was the first time trying fried rice with pork floss which was a good combo. The price was reasonable and the atmosphere was really nice. Service was good overall fun experience. read more

I was satisfied with this experience! Excellent fresh food! The waitress was friendly. The environment was clean. One thing I will say is the portions were a little off, you're paying per choice. I picked broccoli as one of veggies and there were barely any inside. We went for the flat noodles and barely had noodles. Next door at Little Sheep hot pot, when you order veggies, you get a good amount because you're paying per item chosen. Other than that we enjoyed it. read more

Ordered spicy beef soup and stir fry MA LA Guo. Really good but I might be biased since I was hungry. Since all the peppers Numb my thumb, all the food started tasting the same after a while. Bubble tea was a bit too sweet. read more

One of my favorite restaurants! I've tried most cooking style and I love it. Serving time is very quick. It can be loud but I don't mind. Their food is amazing. Make sure you can handle very spicy cause it's up there. They give you a variety of ingredients to include to your food. I love both pan fried and with soup. I come very often! If you're into spicy food, this is definitely a good place to try! read more

If you're looking for a filling, healthy and afford meal - come here. My boyfriend and I love to get the create your own stir fry for two, two rices and two sodas and it all comes under $40. We leave happy and full! High quality and many different options, there's something for everyone. If you love spicy you'll be very pleased with the spicy flavors and the additional heat level you can add (chili oil) but if you're like me go for the scallion and ginger flavor for something fresh and light or the black pepper for a little peppery heat - hold all chili oil for me, please!! It took us a few times to play around with the flavor choices and heat levels to find something perfect for us but it's always delicious, even if way to spicy for us. When you sit down you'll get a fillable menu and pen where you can check off the meats and veggies you want and then indicate the flavor and heat level. No matter what, I always go with the scallops and all the mushrooms they offer plus the fried tofu - all my favorites!!! This place is really awesome and you can always create something new. Highly recommend!!!! read more

Everything's good here. The only downside is the menu is a little bit complicated to understand without the help of the waiters. Stir fry is surprisingly good, the signature seafood was good, too. read more

Ate lunch here with my dad today (Saturday), it was pretty busy but the service was pretty good and our food came out fast We ordered the stir fry and picked a bunch of different stuff, came out to around $37 (we ordered too much for two people) We got the mala and the spice level was fine but I found it to be extremely salty. We let the server know; he was very apologetic and brought me a bowl of hot water in case I wanted to rinse off my food a little lol, and it was better after read more

Quick service, helpful servers, enjoyed the stir fry and the ability to customize. Didn't try any of the drinks, but other folks seemed to be enjoying their juices and teas. The cucumber salad appetizer was refreshing and yummy also. Will likely be back to try different sauces and combinations of the stir fry. read more

Food is really delicious! This is third time I came here. I have really bad experiences. I order the spicy pot as usual. I ask for two glass of water, it is literally tap water (I could tell purify water or not in one second) I ordered drink before(coconut milk drink,it really sweet) This time the reason I don't want order because I figured out they will make my drink with their tap water. I went out to get drink next door and I get hard time when I come back. one of the guy told me there is not allow outside drink. I totally understand. I did apologize and never touch the drink I got. After that, there is other couple bring the wine and coffee. The server even said a word. I really mad because I really don't want drink their tap water, but I have no choice.(even I order something, they still will make with their tap water and add super) . After that, they start to rush us. Put the check on our table and ask us pay them ASAP. The food itself, taste deliciously. the cabbage I ordered literally only have 3 pieces. My server is really good guy . He was really patient and nice I could tell. Just whole experience pissed me off. If you guys could bring the wine or beer or liquor, which is BYOB.You can't yell at us about bring outside drink. You never know what is that drink, I really could tell you that is cocktail(but We won't do that). And if you could use purify water, you will sell your beverage better ! read more

Found one finger nail in my drink. Disgusting AF! and the waitress left me for 10 mins. Never come back!

Overall a bit pricey (w/tip $47) for the seafood hot pot and a stir fry and passion fruit drink. The drink was good, the stir fry was very good, but the soup lacked a bit of flavor even though it had a lot of ingredients. No spices on table (there should have been) - may go back for the stir fry - but to call this a Szechuan restaurant ? I don't know. It reminded me of street food seen on CNN food specials. The place is not associated with the hot pot next door, but it is clear that some of the ideas were "re-purposed" (stolen if you will !). Service was good. I'd prefer to give it 3.5 stars, but I don't think it is fair to round down to 3 stars. Still looking for "good food" - I like Coco nearby and Han Dynasty in Cherry Hill, if I could only turn back the clock to all those great Szechuan restaurants in NYC Chinatown 40 years ago .... read more

Tried this spot for the first time a few days ago, my beau had been a couple of times with a friend of his and recommended it. We chose to make our our stir fry: Asian fusion sauce with medium spiciness and a number of ingredients ranging from beef to enoki mushrooms to tripe. I enjoyed it and didn't find it too spicy even though I'm not supposed to eat anything spicy at the moment. In total we got 8 ingredients and we didn't even finish it, but got close. The cost, including 2 bowls of rice, was about $25 which is pretty reasonable. I'd go back and try some other combinations. read more

We ordered the beef and vegetable soup thinking there was no type of seafood in it because my wife is allergic to fish and shellfish. We received our order and the first thing I notice in the bowl was imitation lobster or crab meat. I call the waiter over and told him about the imitation meat. I told him that most if not all imitation lobster and crab meat are made from Alaskan Pollock. He tells me it's made out of vegetable and is flavored to taste like crab. I don't agree with him. So, he calls the manager over and I make my case. She doesn't offer to do anything about it and she says that she should be okay to eat it. I didn't know these people were medical professionals and knew everything about allergies. So, we kept it. I told my wife not to eat it. I ate some of it. I took a few bites out of the soup and I ended up eating a fish ball. The menu only says Beef and vegetable. The ingredients are listed in Chinese. Anyways, we also ordered the stir-fry which we had full control on the ingredients. It was good. read more

Very tasty sauce for their signature seafood, we tried their The Whole ShaBang sauce and had their Pickle Lamb & Vege Soup Pot. Their soup is not from powder mixture but from beef/ chicken bone broth which makes it even more delicious. Coming back for more mussels in a bag. read more

Got their stir fry, pretty solid choice with pork belly, chicken, black mushroom, corn, bokchoy, instant noodles, and black pepper and brown sauce. Surprisingly spicy, given that the sauce was marked "non-spicy" but I guess the name of the restaurant should've tipped me off. Big portions too, enough leftover for lunch tomorrow. Their milk tea was also really good! With not many good bubble tea places around here, it was definitely a pleasant surprise. And no, it wasn't spicy read more

It's funny that we walk in there, trying to eat but kick us out cause we brought our milk tea from somewhere else. That was like emmm, even that I didn't have a drink, I just wouldn't buy a milk tea from a restaurant cause is usually all powder and over sweet. Then one day my brother ordered delivery from here, well what can I say the food is bad as the service. Everything is low quality, taste way too bad. read more

Visited several restaurants on Labor Day afternoon where they were all close or temporary close for lunch break, yet, Spice 24 were still opened. Cosy ambient and kindly service! Overall, I think 24 spice deserved a five star rating from us! read more

I really like ma la and that's why I came here to try their ma la dried pot/stir fry. The ma la flavor is pretty good here, that's why I give it 4 stars. The fish filet, lotus root, enoki mushroom are very good. The beef definitely absorbs a lot of flavor but not very tender. The shrimp is not that fresh and they have shells on, so it's not easy to eat. The squid, baby octopus, and clams are fresh but they don't absorb the sauce that well. The green bean slush and watermelon juice are amazing. The service is ok, they are a bit too attentive that I feel that we are rushed. read more

They have the worst service I have ever seen, and the portion of the food is getting less and less. Maybe there is a lack of competition so they don't pay much attention to customer service anymore. Also, I once had a stomach flu after eating there. Try to avoid this place if you can. read more
