I was quite surprised to find that the shrimp was the tastiest shrimp I've had at any seafood boil I've ever been to. I've eaten in Delaware and Florida for seafood boils, but this shrimp was out of this world. It was super fresh and juicy, even if it was frozen it seemed to be freshly caught. However, I was not a fan of the crawfish. It's possible that it is out of season hence it being less appetizing. Can definitely taste the fishy taste. We did medium spice and garlic and Cajun and it was so yummy! Highly recommend giving this spot a chance.

The Bang seasoning is BANGIN! The crawfish are too small. The shrimp for large. Muscles are on point. Don't do the egg noodles. Their filler, not a thriller.

Fantastic!!! So Mini-Me and her Bestie treated hubby and I to our Anniversary dinner here, because, we love seafood. It did not disappoint . We each ordered our own meal, I love green mussels and crab, so that was my my choice. Everyone else had lobster, shrimp, and crab. I enjoyed the Boom mix of seasonings, which is a mix of lemon, garlic, and cajun seasonings. They do charge for soda refills, but it's also BYOB, so there's that. Honestly, we will be back again, it's worth the drive and service is awesome.

We got a #3 combo and another bag of selected items. The shrimp were so good - fresh. The Cajun and garlic sauce gave it a nice kick. Fun and filling.

Attentive server and fast service. Ordered 2 lb shrimp, head off, added extra potato and sausage for the boil, garlic seasoning with light heat. Added garlic noodles on the side. Shrimp came de veined, headless shell served in large bag. Extra sausage was great in the boil. Garlic noodles were nice side. Would come here again.

This was my first time at this place. The snow crab clusters were the smallest I've ever seen in my life. I would never eat there again and I would not recommend anyone to waste their time or money. It was a waste of $53.

The girls and I got together to get food and went to this restaurant. When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. I walked in and the hostess sat us. A very nice lady was our server, Rose I believe her name was. This place is BYOB fyi. I ordered the 1/2 lb. of headless shrimp and snow crab legs in cajun sauce. When it came out it smelled and looked great. I dug in and it was very tasty. I enjoyed the flavors. The bill was super affordable as well. I had a good experience.

Ordered 1/2 lbs shrimp, 1/2 lbs sausage and 2 lbs of Dungeness crab. Wow! The Cajun medium has a good kick to it. 5/5 stars. I had a hard time finding a way to get into the plaza because we are not familiar with the roads in NJ. After getting lost for 15 mins, we found it and happy we stopped by.

Several years ago, this type of restaurant popped up everywhere I went. Our first encounter was in Adams Morgan in DC, which we tried and loved. Since then, I've seen them sprinkled around in Brooklyn and NJ. Then. they all started to go away. Fast forward to today and I am glad to find this type of restaurant in NJ again. You can either select a set combo or choose individual seafood selections. We opted for the individual selections and ordered a 1 lb cluster of the dungeness crab, half pound shrimp, 1 lb frozen crawfish (live was out of season), and 1 lb of blue crabs. For every 2 lbs, they include 1 piece of corn and 1 potato. We chose the "boom" sauce which is a mixture of the available sauces (lemon pepper, garlic and Cajun). The Dungeness crab was the star of the meal. It was meaty, and tasted really great with the sauce. The blue crab was good too but 2 were light and 2 were meaty. Our waitress said 1 lb of blue crabs is usually around 3 crabs but sometimes its 4, so it's a trade off. The shrimp was pretty large. I think live crawfish would have been better than the frozen. Didn't care too much for the frozen crawfish. I wish it came with more corn and potatoes. Those were really good with the sauce.

Attention all seafood lovers, if you're in the area, you must dine here. I saw the reviews on yelp for quite some time and I've bookmarked this place. We came here as a family of four and as soon as we walked in, we're greeted by a friendly smile who walked us over to our booth seats. The menu comes with prefixed combination of seafood or you can build your own seafood: clams, mussels, shrimps, crabs, lobsters, crawfish etc. Choose your seafood selection and then select a sauce and then the level of spice. You can also add the side orders of noodles, rice, potatoes, corn or the cobb or sausages. Side orders are extra costs. I selected to build my own because all of the prefixed orders have crawfish, which I'm not a fan. I ordered 1 pound of shrimps (no heads), corn and sausages. All with boom sauce and medium level spice. Yes, there's kids menu and yes, they have chicken fingers and wings which is a plus since my daughter doesn't like seafood. Our waiter took all orders and then came back with utensils, wet napkins, bibs, gloves, and a bucket. Food came and all served with the sauce in a clear bag. As expected, it is delicious. The boom sauce is good. I will definitely come back to try other items and sauces.

One of the better places in the area for seafood boil. The oysters are affordable considering you get 12 pieces. The combo packages are very affordable and is suitable for two. Suggest getting a side of rice or noodles for a complete meal along with some hot green tea to wash down all the hot oily sauces. Food: 4/5 Ambiance: 3.5/5 Service: 4/5 Overall: will visit again.

Ask the Community - Seafood Boil

Hi, Are the seafood cooked inside the bag? Or are they put in the bag just after they are cooked? Thank u!

The bag is only a cost efficient method to serve the seafood. All edibles are cooked/steamed in kitchen equipment and then served in a double sided bag to serve and concentrate the mingled flavored.

Is Seafood Broil a BYOB or do they have a bar?

No alcohol service, it's BYOB 😀

Where is your seafood sourced from?

Our seafood comes from different locations within the United States and Canada.

Is this place owned by the same people who run the Seafood Boil in Dunellen?

    yes

The strip mall itself isn't anything special, but the surrounding area is beautiful , and once you're inside, the restaurant feels warm and inviting. The food is fantastic, and the variety on the menu is impressive. The chef clearly knows what they're doing because every single dish we tried was genuinely delicious. It's the kind of spot where you can't go wrong: date night, dinner with friends, or anything in between. We brought our own bottle and had a great time. Our waiter was super knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. The staff even joked around with me when I forgot my to‑go bag, and yes, I absolutely took it home because the food is that good. I also appreciate that they don't act like offering takeout is beneath them; even the takeout bag was nice. I honestly wish my meals were this good every night. I hope everyone who works here is paid well and enjoys what they do, because they're running the place exactly how a restaurant should be run. It feels like a true community staple somewhere that transports you a bit and makes the whole experience feel special. Lovely all around.

Luca's Ristorante is a hidden gem that proves you should never judge a restaurant by its parking lot. Not long after we were seated, we were greeted by Luca -- a Luca and not the Luca. Still he was warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about his restaurant, taking the time to walk us through the menu and checking in throughout the meal without ever hovering. Luca's has a partial liquor license, offering a modest wine selection but is otherwise being BYOB. As we were told with a smile, they're much more interested in what's ON your plate than what's IN your glass. We started with two excellent appetizers. The arancini, already a family favorite, were crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and disappeared from the table faster than anyone was willing to admit. The Polpette, Luca's signature meatballs with pine nuts and raisins, certainly earned the praise they've received from NJ.com as some of the best in the state. Even if raisins in meatballs sound unusual, trust the process. The restaurant proudly calls itself "A Taste of Ischia," the beautiful volcanic island in the Bay of Naples, and the seafood absolutely lives up to that promise. My squid ink pasta with octopus (the Polypus) was outstanding, with perfectly tender octopus and beautifully balanced flavors. The scallops were buttery, sweet, and cooked to perfection, while the Ischia -- loaded with mussels, clams, and calamari -- was every seafood lover's dream. The rest of the menu proved just as impressive. The Pappardelle, featuring burrata and a rich Bolognese sauce, was a huge hit, while the Romolo, a comforting combination of chicken, pasta, bacon, and sauce, was another winner that had no leftovers to speak of. If you somehow still have room after dinner, Luca's offers a nice assortment of gelato. But do yourself one favor: don't leave without ordering a cappuccino. Rich, foamy, and expertly made, it's the perfect finale to a memorable meal. If you find yourself in Somerset, just a few turns off Routes 287 or 1, make the stop. You'll be greeted by a wonderful staff, treated to outstanding food, and very likely leave wondering how a restaurant this good has been hiding in a strip mall all along.

Our party was situated downstairs at a nice round table. This really helped us share the seafood tower and pass clams around. Our group ordered the small seafood tower, and it was everything I could have dreamed of. It had a little bit of everything. The presentation was flawless. I am still in awe of the lobster. Dinner was also very good. Just about everyone ordered something different, and we left pretty happy. The only issue was the music. I don't know if this is the case for the entire restaurant, but the downstairs had bouncy ukulele covers for the entirety of our time there. It was also a bit too loud. I felt like I had to get up to hear someone sitting a few people away from me, or speak too loud to for shared space because there's a bouncy ukulele covers of Without You by The Kid LAROI. (No, that's not an embellishment. That actually played.) All in all, we had a great time, great food, in a beautiful space. Natalie was a very attentive service. But please, maybe some different music?
