    Cumin beef
    Anusha V.

We randomly went to this spot on a Friday night while we had some time to while away.. but what a delightful find it was. We didn't have reservations but luckily we were able to find a table for 2. The spot was super crowded and really busy. The service was quick and friendly and the food was out pretty quick. They do have a good amount of seating too. The menu was a little hard to read for me buttt we landed on a seafood fried rice and the cumin beef to share between my husband and I. The cumin beef was sensational. We keep coming back for it. I've also tried their Chinese szechuan fried rice and that was pretty good too. We ordered takeout from them a couple of times and the food has always been consistently good and for the price the portion size is pretty good as well.

I came here on the weekend for lunch with a friend. We were seated relatively quickly even though it looked busy. If you are a large party I would make a reservation. You have a QR code on the table that let's you look at the menu and start a tab (very introvert friendly). When you order through the QR code, they just bring everything out. The bacon fried rice was AMAZING. Super flavorful and savory. I'm literally still thinking about it. Its big enough to be shared with another person. It was my fave dish that I got. The dan dan noodles with pork was alright. It didn't have enough pork and sauce in my opinion. I like the pork wonton in the chilli oil. The black pepper wings were also a favorite of mine. It was fried well and seasoned really good. My only issue is that the plate was covered in unnecessary peppers and veggies and it came with some potato pieces that were bit undercooked for my taste. Overall it was a good experience but please beware that its in a very busy complex and parking may be really difficult to find. But fighting for parking is worth it just for those wings and that bacon fried rice.

This is one of my favorite restaurants, I always get the create your own drypot stirfry. Their levels get pretty spicy so I stay at mild or medium. You order from a QR code and they have a virtual waitlist as well. It's a really unique experience. We will be back!

A friend brought me here and I am glad she did! love everything we ordered from the ocra, duck, rice cake to the plum drink. Service is great! everyone was corteous & acconodating. The place is not so big but enough size for people to move around. My meal was so delish I was messing up my top! I would defintely be back to try out other dishes from their menu.

I ordered the beef chow fun and it was really good! Some pieces of beef were a little more raw than I would prefer, but it was overall very delicious! The service was very good and we were lucky to get a table despite it being so crowded!

Recently reopened after being closed for renovations. My party of 4 visited on a Sunday around 12pm, and were seated promptly. There were a few tables occupied when we arrived, and slowly filled up while we were dining. Order via your phone by scanning a QR code. Your party can choose to place a group order or individual orders. We ordered the popcorn chicken as an appetizer to share and two Signature mala pots with mild spiciness. Each pot requires you to choose at least 5 ingredients, so the minimum order will be $20+. We were asked if we wanted rice, so we assumed it came with the meal, but later found out we were charged $1.95/bowl. The popcorn chicken was nicely fried, but could have used some more seasoning/salt. The dry pots came out promptly and were quite tasty, but the portions of the ingredients were inconsistent. + 10% cash discount

I believe the restaurant redid their interiors, looks great. Food is so consistent each visit, hands down best Mala dry pot in New Jersey. So many options of veggies and protein, Mala spice is delicious. Service is good.

Glass noodles with selected ingredients- delicious

The place is always packed with younger people. It can be a bit noisy so if you don't want that, pick an off hour time to dine in. The food is prepared fresh as you pick your condiments to go with it. The food always comes piping hot and delicious. The staff are friendly and courteous. Parking can be a problem since it's next to H- mart and other eateries.

Create Your Own Stir-Fry Beef belly, enoki mushrooms, rice cake, celtuce, blood tofu with Asian Fusion sauce

A classic spot for dry pot, you definitely don't want to miss this restaurant for no fuss options in Chongqing/Sichuan cuisine. Inside, the restaurant is spacious with a lot of booth seating available. Once you're seated, you get a paper menu to check off what protein and veggie options that go into your pot. Depending on what/how much is picked determines your price. The waiters are very knowledgeable in helping you pick if you're overwhelmed by the options! My favorite combination is either fish or beef as the protein, and enoki mushrooms, rice cake, celtuce, plus tofu for the veggies. The Asian Fusion sauce has the perfect amount of heat and savory kick to help you down your bowl of rice on the side. Great spot for dates, dry pot lovers and daring foodies, would recommend a try! ty for reading, farewell

The newly remodeled Spice 24 in Edison is a total upgrade--and it delivers on both looks and flavor. The refreshed space feels modern, clean, and much more open, making the dining experience super comfortable. What We Ordered: * Crispy Pork Belly - Perfectly crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside. Each bite had that addictive crunch and rich flavor you want from pork belly. * Signature Mala - Bold, spicy, and full of authentic Sichuan flavor. The heat level was just right--tingly, numbing, and packed with depth. * Mala Wings - (No photo, but absolutely worth mentioning) These were super flavorful with a nice balance of heat and crispiness. They disappeared fast. Food Overall: Spice 24 still nails authentic Chinese flavors with a great variety on the menu. Everything came out hot, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. The portions are generous, and the dishes taste like they came straight from a wok in a busy Chinese kitchen. Service: Friendly and efficient. Our food came out in good time, and the staff was helpful with recommendations. Final Thoughts: With its stylish new interior and consistently solid food, Spice 24 is easily one of the top spots for authentic Chinese in Edison. Definitely recommend checking it out--especially if you're craving that real-deal Sichuan flavor!

Stopped by after the new renovations and I can say that the place looks completely different. The decorations and atmosphere is much more brighter. We were greeted by a young lady who was very nice and she was very attentive. The food selections are good. The spicy sour potatoes are good, but would prefer it as a cold dish instead of hot. The fried fish were my favorite but for the price, I would have liked to get a little more. They have new and old items on the menu. Another new addition is the QR code menu and now you can order through there. My husband and I love this restaurant so we will be coming back.

The service is very friendly and patient (and American friendly). The food comes out lightning fast. Everything is very reasonably priced. Best of all, it's all delicious. I tried stuff outside of my comfort zone and I loved it all. My favorite were the pork juicy buns (soup dumplings) but the most unique thing was the pan fried noodle which was like a crispy deep fried noodle that would soften as it sat in the sauce. The golden lava buns were sweet and rich and perfect for dessert.

We were second standing outdoors waiting in this big fat long line. Immediately upon opening for the day the line nearly forced entry near stampede and this cafe was immediately packed to full occupancy of patrons with free seating. The Yelp reviews are accurate and truthful. The food is great. This is a small cafe with only approximately eight tables. I do not recommend large parties of five and greater. It is no-frills, but not exactly "hole in the wall" type that lack in aesthetics for upscale lavish atmosphere but the deficiency is resolved in the food quality. There is one sole functioning restroom in the whole business, ergo, stand in line and wait. We entered hungry in a lugubrious sense of deep sorrow, but exited hunger pangs fulfilled. When exiting upon completion of our lunch meal, there was a line that quickly formed outdoors waiting. Unfortunately, access to this cafe in Edison, NJ is by car only and there is a free parking lot that is shared with neighboring businesses located in a small shopping complex. There are no business cards, and no takeout menus available. Customer service is efficient as the staff worked methodically hustling busy to take orders and fulfillment. Our male waiter was attentive to respond to our inquiries and make suggestions based on our desires. I was able to keep the sales receipt. Price is in the rationale realm of stagflation totaling $41.75. Nota Bene: No table hibernation as the table turnover is fast pace with a line overflowing outdoors which cannot interrupt the flow. My foodie synopsis: Pork steam soup dumplings, 6 pcs, siu2 lung4 baau1, 小籠包, $8.75 Very juicy, flavorful and great. It was served piping hot. This is my favorite default dish for every visit at any Shanghainese ethnic cuisine. However, there were no serving tongs provided for this particular appetizer which is industry standard. Preserved cabbage with pork noodle soup, syut3 coi3 juk6 si1 min6, 雪菜肉絲麵 $9.50 This is a satisfying Chinese comfort food. This noodle soup was abundant with noodles, pork and chopped vegetables. It provided warmth to my very broken heart. Shanghai chicken in wine sauce, zeoi3 gai1, 醉雞, $8.95 A traditional Chinese cold appetizer, aka Chinese Drunken chicken made with Chinese Shaoxing cooking wine. It has amazing flavor and texture to be deliciously enticing. Of course, the cooking wine brings flavor to this appetizer making you want more. Shanghai pan fried U-Don noodle, soeng6 hoi2 cou1 caau2 min6, 上海粗炒面, $11.95 Abundant noodles with good consistency and it not heavily filled with grease and oil.

Turned out to be a great choice. Although not easy to find on the tail end of a nondescript commercial strip, we saw its sign and walked in to a decent sized dining room with a half dozen booths along one wall and about a dozen tables spread across the remainder. Plenty of original watercolors displayed and for sale on the walls. David the proprietor seemed to be handling most of the operation himself. He sat us, took our order, disappeared into the kitchen to participate in its preparation and served our four courses to us in traditional style - separately as ready. The food was excellent. We chose from both the lunch and regular menu, which were integrated seamlessly. Fried Pork Chop, Crispy Fried Intestine, Fish Fillets in Chili Sauce from the mains, and Orange Beef from the lunch list. I started with Hot &Sour Soup, which was flavorful and loaded with tofu, sprouts, pork slivers and potent vinegar. Loved it! The Pork Chop was deboned and pressed thin. The result was a crisp sliced Katsu-like cutlet with nice flavor and long crunchy chew. The Intestine was also crisp and filled with green beans that mixed well with the hardened shell and soft innards. Not my fave, but my lovely partner ate it enthusiastically. The Fish and Chili was very good, with tender lightly breaded white fish fillets and red chili sauce that included small pieces of celery, sprouts and cabbage, in a large bowl. Finally, the lunch sized Orange Beef was delicious with sweet and spicy amber sauce coating the pieces of lightly crisped beef. Ubiquitous broccoli sprigs added color to the dish. Service was friendly and accommodating. David was happy to interact and talk about his business there. Red Onion is a Five Star keeper.

If you're in NJ and craving Hong Kong-style wonton noodle soup, head to Wonton Guy in Edison. It's a no-frills local gem tucked away in a tiny strip mall off Route 27, with a few parking spots out front and more in the back. The space is small (only 10 tables!) and nothing fancy, but the value is hard to beat. It's always busy, and after you take your first slurp of the soup, you'll get why. Service is fast, so the tables turn over quickly. I was able to grab a seat when I walked in on a Saturday evening. The menu is simple and offers 3 main options: 1.) noodle soup with toppings 2.) soup with toppings (no noodles) 3.) lo mein with toppings served with soup on the side From there, you pick your noodle type (egg, flat rice, vermicelli), as well as up to 3 toppings (wontons, dumplings, beef brisket, etc.). There are also a few side dishes like shredded pork in chili tomato sauce, deep fried fish skin, and curry fish balls. They even sell some items raw like wontons, noodles, dumplings, and sliced beef. And the best part is... the prices are very affordable! Most of the dishes are around $11-$16. My order: *Two Toppings (wonton + beef brisket) Noodle Soup [$12.75] - Where do I begin? Every single part of this meal SLAPPED. The wontons were MUMBO JUMBO and generously filled with fresh, plump shrimp that were sweet and juicy. The noodles were soft and springy. The beef brisket was SO tender with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. And the broth? Super rich, aromatic, and savory. It's made of shrimp skin, pork bone, dried flounder fish, dried shrimp, and dried monk fruit, but it doesn't taste fishy at all. Each table is stocked with condiments like vinegar, homemade chili oil, and soy sauce to customize your soup. The chili oil packs some SERIOUS HEAT, so watch out. This was hands down one of the best noodle soups I've had. I was sad when I finished it :-( *Hong Kong-style Milk Tea [$6] - I really enjoyed this! The black tea was bold and strong--almost too strong for me, but the milk balanced it out nicely. I only wish it had boba! Everything tasted authentic. Quick backstory: The owner comes from a family with GENERATIONS of experience making wontons and running noodle shops in Hong Kong. He grew up there and brought those family traditions to his own restaurants in Toronto... and now Edison. All those years of experience clearly show in his food. The broth is simmered overnight, and the wontons are freshly prepared every morning. No shortcuts here--just decades of tradition, skill, and a whole lot of love in every bowl. Ugh, I wish I lived closer because I'd be a regular. It's hard these days to find a place that REALLLLLLY delivers a memorable meal that's both tasty, reasonably priced, and served in generous portions. If you're within driving distance and debating whether it's worth the trip--DON'T! Wonton Guy is absolutely worth a visit, even if it's just once. I drove an hour to try it, and I still think about those wontons all the time... no joke LOL.
