I just finished having a septic tank replaced by Speedy Septic and Rooter Service. This was a tough job for them, first of all because the location was a bank owned home that we were trying to purchase,,, the timing was of the utmost importance!!! they did a GREAT job,, with in the almost impossible time frame,,, with a realtor,, banker and selling bank bothering them on an almost hourly basis!! the met the time line that I needed to get moved in,,, and they did it with great pride and proffesionalism!!! Customer service is not forgotten with this company. Did I mention how great the job site looked when they were done?!? The recovery process was very well done as well! Jason came out and jetted our septic field, and then advised us not to do the planned camera locate, based on his findings. I felt he could have easily continued with this service, even though it proved to be no longer useful, and I appreciated that he advised against it. Our interactions with Jared, the estimator / project manager, have been amazing also. He talked to me on the phone for over a half hour answering my many questions, and our on-site visit was just as thorough. We are now saving up for replacing our drainfield. Based on high recommendations from neighbors (that used Speedy Septic Service for their septic tank replacements), I decided to use this company, and I'm so glad I did. From start to finish, I was impressed with their professionalism, training-based knowledge, customer-centered approach and service, fantastic support, and attention to detail. Jake, the project manager, was super to work with. He spent all time needed (including making extra trips to the house) to educate and assist me regarding the process, cover all options and costs, and address my every question and need. Equally fantastic, accommodating, and professional were Dylan and Nate, the two men that performed the work. Not only were both highly adept and skilled at what they do (Dylan's turned equipment operations into an art form), each displayed much respect and care for the landscape, went the extra mile to accommodate desires, needs and requests, and left the site in better shape and condition than before they started the job, or in far better shape than I ever expected. Awesome service! We have used Speedy a few times, as well as installing a new tank for us 16 years ago. We were having problems, they said that they'd fit us in at the end of the day. I was grateful for that, then about 30 mins later, they showed up. They pumped our tank and dislodged a hunk of gunk that was causing us trouble. read more

I had Speedy Septic out to pump our septic tank as part of its regular maintenance. In the process, they broke our baffle...as I subsequently learned, you can't go for very long without a baffle unless you want to ruin your drain field. The guy said the septic tank was too old to install another baffle but they could provide a 1500 gallon plastic tank for $7500 but would need half down right away to get the paperwork started. Not happy about this ... yes, the septic tank/baffle was old ... so maybe it was impossible not to break it. But, really, my only option was a $7500 plastic replacement tank? I felt like I was getting an aggressive sales pitch. I declined and got bids from two other companies ... they both said I only needed a 1,000 gallon tank for my size house and would install a concrete tank. One bid was $4500 and one was for $5000. And one of the companies explained how to make a temporary baffle which my husband was able to install. What a relief! When I asked Speedy about putting in another baffle, they said they didn't think it could be done. Bottom line, I think they use aggressive sales tactics and are way overpriced ... cannot recommend them. read more

Superlatives are usually suspect, but in Speedy's case, they saved us! We're another story about a whole dreadful year waiting for permitting, blah, blah, and when it finally came time to replace the tank, Speedy was professional from start to finish, and a complete pleasure to work with. From the initial phone call (with an impressive voice prompt), to Hayden's bid which came back 24 hours later, to handling the Washington County permitting completely (I was dreading doing it), to Jason and Laura pumping right on time, and to Todd & Dave, who threaded the needle with huge machines without doing any damage ... it was painless. They've been at it so long they know what they're doing and make it look easy. For a homeowner who never does this, I felt at ease immediately and let them take over. What a relief for us. They were in and out in 2-3 days ---- I forget which because I wasn't involved in the process: I trusted them completely and ignored the temporary mess. This was only a 3 year old septic tank (not put in by Speedy). I was told I needed new floats, drainage, etc. It wound up costing $1,100, far more than I anticipated. One part was installed incorrectly and they had to come back the next day to fix it. I'm just not convinced I needed all the work that was done. I contacted them with a becoming urgent situation. They were able to squeeze me in the same day. Jason and Jake arrived on time and ready to take a look at my situation. They were both knowledgeable and efficient, they make a great team! Not only did they have to deal with a way over due septic tank, but they had to deal with me freaking out because the overflow was backing up into my bath tub. I called this company to give me a proposal to fix my septic sand filter. They charged me $150.00 to come out and evaluate my system. (Later I found out other companies in the same business do not charge for this service.) Then they reported my "problem" to the county and I had a county inspector giving me deadlines to fix the problem I had originally contacted Speedy Septic to fix!? AFTER the inspector's visit I finally got Speedy's proposal. Needless to say all they did was create more paperwork for the county, more stress for me and NO BUSINESS for them! read more

The field crews were great. The management not so much. The crews came out and did a fine job. The manager came out and told me the price and assured me they would complete as soon as possible. I paid the half down, over $3,000. After receiving the money, Speedy informed me they had all their equipment on another big job and wouldn't be available for a month. I asked if they were seriously going to leave an open sewage system in front of my front door for a month? They offered me some resolutions, cover it with a tarp, dirt... etc. After waiting and stinking for 3 weeks, They sent me an e-mail that it would be another two weeks or so before they come out. When I complained that this was very unprofessional, and that I was unhappy with their services and performance. Their response was since I was probably going to complain about them when they finished the job, they were not going to do it. They also wanted to assure me that the management staff was indeed very professional. After 40 years of underground construction I never walked away from a job. There are always options, free up a crew, use another contractor, don't schedule work you can't do, etc... Not an honest and professional group. They say they will refund my half payment, We'll see. read more

I took the advice of a client of mine to call Speedy for a septic problem we were having. They were very good in terms of getting out to see the property and discuss the options. They handled the permitting with the county and the project is now complete, but we had some challenges. The challenges we ran into were scheduleing and communication related. A project that we were told would take a week or two went a month. Luckily we had very dry weather or this would have gone much longer. Overall it appeared Speedy was short staffed and often pulled off our job to go to another job. There were several times when they didn't show or they showed up unannounced. Several times people would show up work a little and then leave. I know they had a much larger project near Dufur,Oregon that moved to top priority leaving us hanging for about a week. The electrician had to come out multiple times trying to get his work done. The coordination between the crews and subs was not ideal. Communicating with us at times was not ideal as to what was going on. At one point my wife and son had to dismantle a fence, cut out a bush and remove an arbor in a hurry to allow access to the backyard for the new tank that wasn't suppose to happen until they were finished with the drainfield. The drainfield wasn't done. In other words the communication as to when the new tank was to be installed and when it actually happended was not good. On the positive side there were significant cost overruns due to the challenges associated with the project. Speedy Septic essentially ate those costs and recognized that the significant overrun in the time was their fault. I commend them for doing that. We have asked for someone to come out and explain the system and the maintenance part relative to the electrical and pump work and we have not heard back form them relative to that discussion. read more

Saturday night our septic tank decided to backup and fill our basement with sewage. We had 22 guests scheduled to come over the next day. It was not a good day. I called Speedy Septic about 6pm Saturday in a panic and spoke with Kyle. He was here the next morning at 6am (on a Sunday). It took us a while to find the tank because it had been buried since the 70s. We thought we knew where it was but we where wrong. Once he used his fancy electronic finder it only took a short time before they uncovered the lid. Then they pumped out the tank and then they had to hydrojet the main sewer line because it was still plugged. Once that was clear they tested it to make sure everything worked good and everything was cleaned up. Throughout the whole process Kyle kept me informed about prices and options. The whole thing took about 2.5 hours and gave us plenty of time to clean up and get ready for our party later that day. Never again will I take the simple task of flushing a toilet for granted. This stared with a plumber that said the cesspool was full and recommended Speedy to take care of it, they came and agreed with the plumber. They came out with their little back hoe and was not sure where the cesspool was. So the went to the basement and ran a scoop down the clean out, at which time they cleared the blockage from the main drain. However they decided to dig up the front yard to expose the top of the cesspool, in the process they broke the main water line to the house, witch they repaired. They dug to the top of the tank about 15 ft. down, broke open the top of the tank and found it completely dry. The blockage they cleared fixed the problem, but they dug anyway. I was not there at the start of all this, got there after the water line was broke. They put in clean outs and back filled, the ground saddled a few mouths later, they returned and added fill, and we planted grass. It has saddled again this was all done 1/20/15, Sunday 5/29/16 the main water line broke off from the saddling, no one was home at the time. We have called three times on Tuesday 5/31/16 and each time Speedy said they would call us back they have yet to do so. Even after explaining that the home is occupied by a 96 year women and a 71 yr. old disabled vet.
